Don't start.

damn you're dumb, or just desperate to feel better about yourself

Holy shit, I want to insult you but that album you just posted is absolutely wonderful

(i'm not going to be nice if you're a pleb)

This is one of their best tracks

It's not that popular here, but I think it's amazing

Not joking, only good thing about this album is the vocal harmonies.

btw you could easily fill this chart with the Beatles, Beach Boys, Anco catalogs but I'm sort of hoping to find new stuff in this thread too

You guys have a dl to this? I've known about it for a while but I haven't been able to find a link to download it. It's been driving me nuts.

Contributing with an essential.

pop not rock

Why did David choose the horse face instead of that qt?

Put Abbey Road in there, m8, it's the best sample of Beatles' vocal harmonies

>tfw this thread will be full of shitty muh psychedelic pop and nobody will post any soul or doo-wop

Heptones - On Top

very influential reggae group

I pretty much only know/listen to singles compilations or greatest hits though. Like which is the best Four Tops album? Probably a compilation should go in the chart though.

>implying psychedelic pop isn't the natural next step of doo-wop

should i put this in or should i put the smile sessions in?

SMiLE should be there as well as/instead of Pet Sounds. And one of their earlier albums as well, they're the stereotypical vocal harmony records.

Also add - A Quick One, Black Foliage, Piper at the Gates.

...

Oh whoops. I was thinking of Lamb, not Lamp. Both are shibuya-kei, what is the odds.

Thanks still though.

>SMiLE should be there as well as/instead of Pet Sounds
Half of the vocals weren't even finished you dummy

...

yea i was gonna say
still good stuff tho but not what im really looking for
same with

(Piper at the Gates)
im a bit hesitant to include these bc they're a little less straight up pop but is that Bull-Shit or

So what? There's still more harmonic vocal material released than all their previous albums put together.

i love how even though like only 70% of the material was actually finished for it that it's still by far the best thing the beach boys ever put out lmao

Why would that matter? Also how are the Byrds not straight-up pop?

Agreed.

OP here, this is how it's come along so far. still adding stuff tho so feel free to yell at me to change or add or delet shit

i can see where you're coming from with remain in light, and you could even argue it's not really a harmony album, but you're wrong about the beatles and the byrds

fUCK forgot to add the image

alright i'll go fix that

lol I was going to post that Piper isn't so much harmony based as has a few cool harmonies, but it's probably fine. This one's in the same category imo

but revolver barely has any harmonies you dimnuts

yea that's why i replaced it with abbey road. although would Sgt Pepper's or MMT be better suited to go there?

surprised this wasn't posted sooner! Added. What do you think about Tomboy? i feel like the harmonies are a little more complex on it but ofc person pitch is much more of a classic

You should put a Grizzly Bear album in there. Yellow House is the best option, I guess.

love tomboy. There's more harmony usage but I think PP is more famous for its harmonies due to the style. I'm not sure about more complex either, could probably go either way. I've been trying to transcribe the harmonies on PP and its making me want to blow my brains out. Tons of reverb hiding stuff I never would have heard without messing with EQ/vocal isolator, mostly on Take Pills. Haven't writing down anything from Tomboy yet.

Lush has some sweet vocal harmonies

youtube.com/watch?v=NELgIohZMlw

oh god good luck hahah
yeah i feel like person pitch is hiding a lot under the surface

bumpppppp

Definitely one of my favorite albums

...

GBV - Bee Thousand desu

...

I like MMT better, but definitely Sgt Pepper.

HEEEEAAAARRRRTBEEEAAAAT
HEEEEEEEAAAAAARRRRRTBEEAT

NO ONE HEARS ME
>NO ONE HEARS ME
NO ONE HEARS ME
>NO ONE HEARS ME
NO ONE HEARS ME SING THIS SOnG

...

Early Beatles has some of my favorite harmonies. So it'd be nice if that got a rep. Maybe the 1 album? The good harmonies are pretty much spread out across their first five.

Anyways here's the collection I vote for Four Tops for our token black music

...

...

Another recommendation for older pop. This album inspired the Beatles to use vocal harmonies so much so they're probably indirectly responsible for harmonies being prevalent in psychedelic pop. The harmonies themselves are amazing as well. The rym genre is straight up Close Harmony

epic

these

Also The Impressions first album maybe

It's also probably one of the most boring albums of all time

Steve Peregrine Took and Marc Bolan's harmonies were perfect

i mean

Not sure which but at least one Simon & Garfunkel album belongs on that chart.

...

...

What's the third album?

read the chart lol

OP here, i've been busy doing homework so i haven't had time to update it yet
does someone wanna post a list of the albums already posted on here they think should be included that i didn't put on the chart yet

Oop

>pop

Not exactly Cred Forumscore but the fact that Peter Paul and Mary and Simon and Garfunkel have only been named once ever only tells you how far this is from becoming a serious chart.

FUCKING THIS

bumpo

>what is sunshine pop
>no Curt Boettcher, no Sagittarius/Millenium

>what is Pop-Soul
>no the 5th Dimension, no the Association, no Free Design, no The Coswills

this is pretty creepy desu

meh

>Bump
>[Simultaneous bump a major third higher]
