>attempt to rip off Sufjan Stevens vocal style
>add entry-level acoustic guitar twanging and rudimentary choir workings
>end up collaborating with Kanye West
>launched into superstardom
>now much more commercially successful than Sufjan
What did they mean by this?

he recorded this album in a cabin in 2006/2007 and at the time I could've drove to his cabin in five minutes from where I lived ama
How is that even remotely similar to King Suffy's vocal style?
Just listen to The Seer's Tower ending.
Then The Wolves (Act II) ending.
Kanye West liked his music so he featured him in his songs, nothing wrong with that
Sufjanfags are so fucking cringeworthy
Did you ever drive by it?
Bon Iver is good though
Bon Iver is alright, it just that his music is pretty much pretentious hipster-bait, im not saying it isnt good, but it attracts people who think music taste = intelligence
The driveway yeah, it's a pretty long driveway tho
This btw
hahaha holy fuck
>Sufjan haters best arguments are that he has homosexual tendencies.
How does it feel to be missing out on some of the best music ever due to your warped views?
Heterosexual fan of Sufjan here, the guy is fantastic.
Haters are almost as bad as those of Kanye.
>>attempt to rip off Sufjan Stevens vocal style
this is correct if youve literally only heard two people singing in your life
that's literally this entire fucking board
Their vocal styles are literally nothing alike.
Justin is 10 times the singer that Sufjan is. Listen to this shit.
"Holocene" alone is a staggering work of genius and light years ahead of anything Sufjan has created.
is this false flagging or
>anything Sufjan has created
>Sufjan Stevens
>anything
I agree. I love that song so much. Also Justin is my favorite musician of all time.
He's really quite good at guitar on this album.
He punishes the instrument most of the time, but you can tell he knows what he's doing.
He shows a more gentle skill on Blindsided and Stacks.
I've always liked Sufjan Stevens but I can see the appeal in Bon Iver. I'd rather buy Bon Iver's new album than Steven's. He's expanding his sound and going somewhere interesting.
I remember Bon Iver being pretty well-liked here a handful of years ago.
>Implying Sufjan hasn't expanded his sound multiple times already
>implying any phase in his career wasn't interesting
all me btw ;^)
I still like Bon Iver
vernon has literally been jerking the same two strings for the last ten years while bleating like a goat and sufjan has experimented with electronica and pop like no one ever did before but like yeah continue to masturbate bon iver's micropenis i guess
this is a master troll, want my nyc tickets?
Huh, I always thought emma sounded more like a more iron and wine inspired project than stevens but I guess I can see the comparison
you're technically right - he just isn't as good though
You don't really play guitar do you?
Dawg idk if you heard this yet but
>Starbucks folk
...
this
Bon Iver is literally an industry plant
Sufjan is amazing and talented
>you can't like more than one slightly similar artist
:>)
x100
literally unlistenable james blake parody skit
They did it just to piss you off, OP. Did it work?
