New release: windowlistener.bandcamp.com/album/square1-ep

>Experimental electronic + other genres

I'm a huge mess right now

I like this, the noisy electronics go well with the punky music. I like the weird synth tracks more than the straightforward rock ones, it's a cool sound and reminds me of a more aggressive Age of Adz
This is super cool, the noisier stuff is freaky and contrasts great with the indie sort of stuff, and I like how there's still musicality to it instead of just letting it bury everything. The quieter stuff has an almost NMH sound to it. You've got talent man!
I really liked YFBAY, I need to sit down and listen to this all the way through when I can. From the first track it sounds more 90s alternative than the last one.
I'm digging this, definitely some 1st-wave post-rock vibes. The jazzy chords are nice but never get overbearing or sound forced.

user, I'm gay for shoegaze, dream pop, post-rock and ambient music. I am loving this, sincerely. The only problems I can think of are the white noise present in nearly every song (due to lo-fi equipment), the drums feel mixed in a bit strangely, and how long each song takes to begin (not really a problem seeing as how it's a stylistic choice, but listening to the full album can be a little bit monotonous between the musical swells).

This is a very, very solid album though. I've thoroughly enjoyed the tracks I've heard so far. Good on you.

did you actually listen to all those posts you mention, or is that what you stole from?
good stuff though, shame it's all a rip of

really glad and cool that you liked YFBAY! By first track do you mean the one that is queued to play when going to the album page (Skin Walker) or literally the album opener (Peach fuzz)? Because this release varies its sound quite a bit, more than YFBAY I think.

I find it quite hard to find experimental electronics I like on these threads, so good job user. I hope to see you in the future, when you are not asleep.

Thanks! I was trying to get the drums to sound crisp so they would stand out more but I can see how they may sound weird against the lo-fi other stuff.
Skin Walker, the reviews on the page kept mentioning SDRE which I can see

laurelave.bandcamp.com/releases

>music I made in audacity lamo

I'm honestly so sick of the SDRE comparisons. Do you think that song sounds like Sunny Day? I mean, I think the only song we have that sounds anything like Sunny Day is Should Sleep off of YFBAY. or maybe We All Know too. Beyond that, though I don't quite hear it. I like SDRE but I just dont see the comparison. I think one person said it and everyone ran with it.Like, we sound waaaay more like the pumpkins

tight flow/beat, tight af
the synths sound great, but the whole mix could've been better (the indie parts should've been less lo-fi and more punchy)
but i do like the songs, so keep it up
both projects are moody and dope, i'm enjoying 'em
i rec'd this in the prev thread, worth checking out
honestly this could've been way heavier and much much more effective as a throwback alternative/ shoegaze album
the songwriting and playing is good though

Thanks for listening to my album btw! I noticed your comment but never got to address it properly. So... the question was...
>When you said the different parts shouldn't be played together did you mean all at the same time of in order?
I meant in general, playing all six tracks one after the other, in a different configurations. I felt that this would make people "dizzy" after some time like it did with me. So it was just a simple warning for the peeps.

This is really nice. Love the production.

This stuff is actually really good. Do you have any interest in a physical release? Same as above I would like to carry some of your stuff if you are.

Pretty solid. I agree with the other comment that this could have been heavier. Still sounds solid. I gave it a download so I can check it out more later.

I can dig it. I like your vocals. I don't hear much of the lo-fi stuff being done with a bass, more guitar stuff so that is interesting. That being said I feel some of your melodies and progressions are bland. Not a lot of variation in the song, and with only five tracks it isn't showing a bunch.

Am Solid stuff

I have to go to class now but this has been a solid thread with some good conversation. Glad to see a lot less of the ol' post and go.

recs

>Could have been heavier
Did you guys just listen to skin Walker? Because if you want heavy I recommend listening to One Hundred Bees and Cute Things then. Those songs are actually pretty heavy, especially one hundred Bees has a sludge metal/doom metal break at the end. So I urge you to check that out. The album changes its sound a lot, I mean the last track is a ballad similar to Prince and the opener is a quick little pop rock track. It's really not a one song album, not to sound pretentious. But if you're looking for heavy, check out the two mentioned songs, you'll like em :)

Hello folks, PanGod here. Usual rules apply: if it's bad I tell you why, if it's good and you have physical, I buy your shit. Take my opinions with a grain of salt

Uninteresting, bland, I don't like hearing a high nasal sick faggot rapping

Good enough for me, enjoy your five bucks

Half decent, feels too formulaic. Drums are badly treated, they need more high end. Chords have no EQ and sidechaining is too loose. Raw arps kill the sound

Terrible, too loose experimental sounds

Too loose and distorted as fuck, I don't buy christcuck shit

Not a huge fan of the emo influences but you're onto something here. Enjoy your dollars

Good raw sounds, juvenile vocals ruin it

I love the idea but drums sit wrong in the mix (too much low end compression, no space), bass drum is a fucking insult, no coherent use of reverb. Guitars are great. No stereo on peripheral instruments

Tone deaf singer ruins it. Good stereo image

Terrible, pretty much quit music now-core

I've bought your shit in the past, you're still fantastic. Cheers and thanks for the new CD

Just about as bad as your blurb said it was. You have a nice singing voice but that's about it, needs more supporting instruments and some fucking stereo, and stop singing out of tune

This is fantastic, put out a tape already

Make music of your own instead, I feel violated listening to this shit

I love you. Great sound, needs more stereo and physical, also an engineer to help you balance levels

It's shit, sorry. Weak electronic and lazy edits. Your juvenile voice doesn't help

Very nice but your S&H is wayy too expensive

This is so shit. Basic presets all over the place

Some nice loops, too basic

Some decent stuff going on but no physical. Vibes are too loud in the mix

these "opinions" are juvenile

new album, uploaded five days ago.

from Chicago, recorded outdoors, for the most parts, so riddled with filthy birds and moquitoes.

Continued

Some decent loops, otherwise bad, out of tune, weak production

Your sound is alright but you need an engineer, it lacks high end and space. You're crazy if you think I'm paying 10eur for a digital download

Nice clarky vibes. Beat production is horrible (drums too weak compared to rest of mix, drum samples either cheesy or too low)

Bad production, weak sounds, juvenile vocals, no stereo

Juvenile vocals, no stereo, terrible mixing so fuck you

Lazy but nice sound, the long description makes me laugh

>harsh noise

Fuck you

Too much background noise, good sound overall, no stereo = big minus

Boring piano preset, sorry, I'm sure it meant something to you

I'm a medical CNS and never flipped burgers, I'm sorry but I can't get past the voice breaking, it's not intended as an insult. When I was 16 I'd prefer to hear honest opinions rather than hugbox shit. Maybe you can buy their records to make up for people like me?

>I'm a medical CNS
said like it ends an argument of some kind. and yes, "juvenile" has a negative connotation and therefore is an insult. and if that was your best honest opinion and your reason for using this as a way to say to somebody that they sound like "16 year old burger flipper" then that IS an insult. sorry, you can be NASA boy but you can't give proper opinions for shit

Really like the guitars and ambience, the only problem is the drums, they sound like those tightly-produced metal style drums, which is weird with the soft music. Great comfy sounds though, I'm a sucker for reverbed-out shoegaze

just a suggestion
why not make most of your tracks a good minute or more shorter? i think you have some great nuggets, but taking it all at full length just gets...kinda boring. the variety is in your compositions here, not so much in presentation. you might want to focus on highlighting that

Yeah that's the set song. I might change it to something shorter though. Lots of people tend to skip songs over 3 minutes

pd: also, where's pleasance house?

I guess my previous songs were all really concise and I wanted to explore extended ambiance and mood building between the tracks. Was trying to go for more of a "put it on and zone out" experience than an album that commands the attention the whole way through.

I do feel you, though. Writing that shit was emotionally draining, whatever comes next will probably be more direct.

thx for checkin it out :)

He skipped over me too don't worry.

I haven't seen him in awhile. He was a regular up until his album release. I know you're asking mockingly but still.

I'd like to applaud everyone in this thread. One of the better BC threads ive seen

Description:
"An EP I made."
-AP Macroeconomics

With a name like AP Macroeconomics, you would expect something completely horrible or completely funny. Even some of the song titles would seem like jokes. But behind the oddity of a name, Thomas Meskil presents the listener something totally opposite. Mumbling guitars, cohesively cluttered percussion, somber soaked vocals, humble, like a hug from a wise, old friend. Compatible with lyrics that feel both personal to the man behind the name and universal to all who listen, AP Macroeconomics is definitely a musician to keep your eye on.

Now available for stream and download! CDs available at AP Macroeconomic's bandcamp as well!

Support, scrobble, or review on RYM. Any feedback of any kind would be greatly appreciated. And give Thomas some love. Thank You. :)

Will still be accepting submissions for the label.

Proud Supporter Of:

>No stereo on peripheral instruments
What do you mean? Guitars and ambient keys are two separate takes panned hard to each side. Too "even"?

Your vibes are mono. Vocals are mono. Drums hihats etc are mono. Catch my drift?

phhh. I knew I shouldn't've taken your opinion seriously. fucking douche.

wanted to listen to some i havent heard before
was unsure of what the field recordings in the beginning of Ocean were leading to, but that thing really blossoms nicely. good stuff! also bonus points on being athens
cool instrumentation, like the rough vocals. nice mix of emo punk stuff with a little bit of atmosphere.
the music you make is constantly fascinating. I love it on a conceptual level almost as much as a sonic one.
cool stuff! people might get dissuaded by low production values but its clear yall have good ideas going on, which is what counts.

If your music was used in a tv show and then months later someone from the broadcasting company emails you saying that their records show that you havent received payment for your liscence fee of 200 dollars and they want you to fill out a w9 and give them an "invoice" what would you do? i dont even know how youd do an invoice? and if i fillnout that s9 irs form do i have to pay more taxes on it or file it for taxes somehow? also if i just ignore the emal could i get sued or something?

Get your money

Get paid

what the heck is an invoice for a w9 though? and the form needs my ssn, i dont like that. will i need to fillout something to pay taxes on themoney they give me?

can i just ignore it you think?

Industrial noise guy

pan god, do you make music? you seem to have a very specific idea of what you like and I'm curious to see how well that translates to making music.

I don't post my own music because I think it would lessen the effect of my critique, just know that I'm right and I know what it takes to make it in the music industry

I have produced many genres over 12 years of active work but would like to think it doesn't contaminate my impression of albums produced here. I actively work as an audio/mastering engineer these days with a small selection of people that can stand me from a few labels. I would advertise my work much more if we didn't complement each other as much as we do. It's a great fit.

Yeah I think I threw people off by posting the Moon as opposed to medusa. Thanks for giving a listen! I kinda feel like a shit for mentioning that it's not doing so hot, but it'll be okay

This guy is not me (pan God) and is probably taking the piss

lmao ok kid

soundcloud.com/wilum

Are you this guy that kept berating people about their mixing styles in the SoundCloud threads like a year ago?

I always stuck to the bandcamp threads and mainly berated the denizens about their lack of stereo usage and panning, hence the moniker pan God

I never visited the soundcloud threads

let's see your music then faggot

he won't post it because he's too scared of what people will say about his shitty music, mostly because right now he can say whatever he wants and has nothing to worry about because if we knew what he made we could dismiss him just as easily as he can dismiss us.

He makes pop music, his opinions are bullshit.

FWIW I was just genuinely curious. He didn't even review my shit, I just want to know what would please someone with tastes so specific. Why not gain more perspective, guys?

yeah im salty bitch

this is great

My most important artist account is used for releasing long-form ambient pieces for sleeping and relaxation, demonstrated in this bandcamp bestseller of may 2014. Say what you will about the cheesiness and laziness of ambient music, but I've made quite a bit of dough from this album, and it's my favorite and most appreciated style to work in.

slumbr.bandcamp.com/album/hibernate

Other styles are dubstep, drum and bass, drill, etc. I've toured quite a bit with this material. I can't be arsed to count the downloads, some of these used to be charged but later free.

I'm perfectly aware that I open myself up for a barrage of shots about the quality of my work, but I honestly couldn't care less. I enjoy my production process and hope to inspire others who do as well, especially through my incessant cassette collection and promotion habit. As for the rest, they'll probably stick around if their hearts are in it. Hope you have a good day.

complete shit

your ambient is absolute garbage

Its bland, its dull, its boring, its something ive heard from nearly every ambient album

is this a joke? Like your mastering isn't... this mix... I mean what? is this serious?

This is a joke right, you're really something else right?

Maybe the track has been removed.

Oh Elijah, this new album of yours is beautiful dude. It's even better than I was hoping for.

Good stuffs
Thank you so much for listening. I understand not everyone will like it but it means a lot that you took the time to speak your peace
Still need to listen to this

Guys, I gotta say. This is the best Bandcamp thread in a long time. A lot of people participating in conversation. A lot of people giving feedback. A lot of good posts, we need to keep it this way.

That being said some as shoes are still around. Come on and at least say something about the 50 other fucking posts instead of posting and leaving.

PanGod abides. Nice vibes. Really like the solid vocals, which mic is that? Enjoy your Canadian dollars.

I know; it's like an actual community or something this time

im going on tour soon. not for these songs in this project, but with my other band. ive never gone on tour. it'll be 10 days. i've only ever played one or two shows a week. now i'll be cramped up in a Honda Civic with 3 other people and a bunch of gear for 10 days. it should be fun, and im really looking forward to it. but i wonder how i'll handle it, being the neurotic piece of shit i am. anyway, that has nothing to do with these songs. these songs are a collective ode to mental illness, for the most part.
