>ambient 3 and Pearl but not Ambient 2
Pretty mediocre honestly. At least Evening Star and Endless Summer were in respectable spots
Its decent. I mean its pitchfork.
p. fucking weird seeing p4k trying to categorize what is generally wallpaper music / proto-New Age
memebient 1 ofc is number one, but everything else was pretty solid
I only had about 10 of those albums and ambient is my favorite genre. Downloaded the rest though.
I made a whatcd collage if anybody wants to check out the list
>no mention of popol vuh
quite a few of these albums aren't even ambient
what a waste
I think p4k can't into ambient
post the collage pls
btw i like this list
They mostly aren't ambient though, and they certainly didn't make any fully ambient album without there being sections of electronic and krautrock, etc. I'm sure they were too difficult to pin down for p4k to put them on a list purely about ambient albums
all good points but how can you omit this
youtube.com
>Windy & Carl album
nice, nice, keep going
>that's not Consciousness or Drawing of Sound
no.
What the fuck? It's only taking me to picture of a Sad Panda
it's a private tracker. you need to be invited
yeah, i haven't heard their windy and carl choice either, but I was hoping it would be Songs for the Broken Hearted
>ctrl+f
>another green world
>0 results
what a pile of shit
>he didn't even look at pages 2-5
>implying i would be interested enough to see that there was more than one page
jesus christ, that is awful, the worst of the Ambient series at the top.
>Disintegration Loops at #3
>they still fell for an art-con jackass and his bullshit loop music
pleb
thanks Chris
>implying another green world is only as good as to be ranked between #41 and #50
lol you are and idiot
chris here,
thanks man
>Substrata this low
>Refinement of the Decline this low
>No AWVFTS
>Ambient 1 at #1
>No Radio Amor
otherwise fine
nice to see grouper on there too
>implying you know how to read when you can't understand my post
kill you're self
theres like five fucking Eno records on the list already, get over it.
and Another Green World isn't ambient anyway
>
fave SOTL lads?
I reckon P4K are right in having Tired Sounds as the highest rated, but I've got a bit of a soft spot for Avec Laudenum and Carte-de-visite nonetheless
not a single namlook project. boo.
Invite mee
where were you when you realised that Birth of a New Day by 2 8 1 4 was the best ambient album of the last five years?
when will americans learn they can't into ambient
...
just realized this
>no Andrew Chalk
>The Dead Texan not on there
>none of Harold Budd's solo releases
>nothing from the two Merzbow / Richard Pinhas collab albums
>no Rene Hell
>none of Yellow Swan's less harsh releases
>nothing from the two Merzbow / Richard Pinhas collab albums
Keio Line is amazing.
this is a shit list, multiple opn records, tim hecker, half of the list is eno.... It's clear that p4k knows nothing about this type of music
No Global Communication - 76:14? One of my faves. Any particular reason it was left off?
>no pavilion of dreams
>no Zeit or other Tangerine Dream
>stars of the lid
boi im bout to do it
p4k knows very little about ambient
Why is Brian Eno so massively fucking overrated, I feel he is to ambient music what Bob Marley is to reggae. Is everyone that make a track with synth with reverb but no drums really that indebted to him?
yes
do the interview you pussyass
>hurr Brian Eno was the first to call an album ambient therefore he's the best
They're being safe desu, They don't want to piss people off.
who would get pissed off? most eno fans agree 1 is the weakest
no one else would care
i fucking hate web 2.0 design and having to browse pitchfork for an otherwise simple list reminds me why
>no Coil
p shit
>most eno fans agree 1 is the weakest
where are yuo getting this info?
It's just me or in this last months there was a sort of Cred Forums and normies revival about Brian Eno? I see this nigga works everywhere now
