certainly Hip Hop AOTY for me

probably in my top 10, it's pretty damn good for a Hip Hop album

post yfw the first time Ain't It Funny came on

so much better than old. doesn't overstay its welcome, cohesive even with its huge range of sounds. honestly the only thing that could have been better was the choices in features. gonna take me a few listens to take all of it in t b h

i'm really happy for danny

Fucking off the wall insane.

Gave it a 10

it's decent

anyways u can get the itunes m4a download at ysleaks.com

How does it compare to XXX? I remember the hype when old was released and that album turned out to be garbage.

I don't dislike a single song. Downward Spiral and Tell Me What I Don't Know are probably my favorites.

>Came Out Today
>In Top 10 Already
fucking hypebeasts man

It blows it out the water, seriously man, it's something else

Probably not quite as good, but as adventurous and refreshing and varied. Better than Old for sure.

Fuck I just came on mu just now, when has it leaked and is there a good quality download already?

still doesn't touch XXX imo. it rly just depends what you like about his music

Well XXX is a modern classic so it's very hard to compare them at the moment. Only thing I can say is that this has way better production and the best production I've heard in a hiphop album in a long time.

XXX is like a 9 for me, Old was like a 6. This feels like an 8+

cant say for sure yet, they're completely different

not even memeing, this is literally the exact face i made

b-real on get hi was super cheesy and out of place imo, but most of the album is really good.

Well, I haven't listened to many new releases this year, and I meant Top 10 as in for this year, not all time.

see

It didn't leak, Danny put it up on Spotify/Apple Music early

oh my fucking dude I love that nigga

the production is genuinely fucking fantastic

like, the whole thing feels like a trip

i could do without get hi

Anyone else think ODB would have fit perfectly on this album?

that's not the cover of piatto d'oro senpai

XXX vs AE?

ab-soul sounded like he wrote his verse for an entirely different beat.

other than that, aoty

Get Hi and Lost are the weakest tracks but they're still excellent.
Imagine Schoolboy actually getting a verse on Pneumonia instead of just ad libs

the production of "today" is amazing

Rolling Stone was the only terrible song.

>epsilepsy

what did he mean by this?

...

That was my favourite song on the entire album personally. Tied with When it Rain.

>Ain't it funny comes on

The best beat I've ever heard

Best: Ain't it Funny
Runner-Up: Downward Spiral
Underrated: Hell for It
Worst: Lost

Certainly the most accessible but terrible, what the fuck?

The feature was shit and ruined the song.

AOTY easily

hoooooooooly shit white lines

dannys vocals were mixed so poorly on old, it didnt do him justice.

is it wrong my best song off of this is get hi?

the only thing that even comes close is splendor & misery imo

nah i like get hi

s&m is a fantastic album and would have been HHAOTY for sure if not for this, but this is genuinely fucking great

this is the sort of album that teenagers in like 25 years from now will name drop to show they have good taste

I don't even like hip hop all that much and I'm enjoying the shit out of this album

It just seems like it's taking too much influence from Sremmlife 2.

I FUCKING LOVE WHEN HE SAYS EPSILEPSY

...

this desu FeelsBadMan

listening to it for the first time
2 songs in

Who the fuck is the genius that produced Today

>m4a
kill yourself lmao

>TFW mu overhypes the shit out of an album

You guys did the same thing with blankface. Annoying fucks. I'm not saying it's bad but "it blows xxx out of the water"? Really? Shut the fuck up.

god the BEAT in when it rain man

I seriously did not think danny brown had it in him to make an album this sick. This is super unique, absolute ledge desu

the more I listen the better it gets

holy shit

it's better than XXX

sounds like an Evian Christ sort of beat but i'm not sure

but blankface is good user, just because fantano gave i 5 doesnt mean its bad

Okay bud enjoy cringing at yourself in a week or two from now.

It absolutely does though.

Same shit was said when Old was released

OH NO I CAN'T HANDLE AN OPINION

FUUUUUCK

not him but I didn't really like XXX, I understand why people love it but it wasn't really for me

this however is blowing my face off

so I can see why some people would say it's better, it caters to a different kind of listener

It was okay, 6.5/10 song.

Im not really getting all this hype.

Another mediocre meme rap album Cred Forums claims is aoty lol

holy fuck. dark and gritty. the beats are crazy, this might be better than bottomless pit

the album cover is my reaction

What makes XXX better than this? They're both great and way better than Old but why is this such a step down

Not aoty but it is a lot better than the usual meme rap that is overhyped here.

>yfw p4k gives it a 9.5

They wont though because it's not "music to march to".

I can't tell if I like Get Hi or not. It's such a stupid song in a good way.

It didn't click for me either. I understand why people love it and I do like it as well to some extent. The concept is great but many of the songs towards the end of the album bore me too much to really love it. 30 is one of the best rap songs of the 2010s though.

I like it, it's a fun cooldown from the rest of the album.

...

RTJ2 was the only nice rap album i saw hyped in here, that fucking blankface LP was fucking trash and so is this. Production is good tho, would rather listen to it without Brown's mediocre lines.

Happens everytime one is released.

Fans of the genre are just that brain dead.

>hes a nu male rtj fan

opinion discarded

I haven't heard it yet, but Danny himself doesn't take it very serious as far as I know. He said in an interview that every one of his albums has a weed smoking song so he he had to put one on here as well. But really I haven't heard it yet, so maybe it's actually terrible idk.

No other rap album this year was met with such hype on here. Many people called Blank Face boring.

>reddit the jewels

sasuga

One reason is that this has a few shitty hooks and xxx had literally zero. Xxx will never be replicated again because Danny was hungry in those days. He was a borderline nobody who was really living what he rapped and you could feel that when you listened to it. I don't really get that from this.

I'll admit I thought Danny was blowing hot air when he said this album was 'Progressive Hip Hop'

BUT THIS SHIT SOUNDS LIKE PROG ROCK

What about TLOP and Colouring Book?

...

>this has a few shitty hooks and xxx had literally zero
house house fields
abandon house fields house
house fields house
abandoned house fields fields

That's fair. Blank face was a mess. I see where you're coming, from I noticed I was drawn more towards the production than the lyrical content.

On first listen I really enjoyed it for that reason, but it will def take a few more listens for me to really give a solid score.

>making stuff up

I want to say other than the first hour of release for blankface, the majority of posts felt it was underwhelming

>You guys did the same thing with blankface

lmao Blackface was nowhere near as hyped as this

Cred Forums has been having dozens of threads about this album every day

there were like two threads when Blankface leaked and hardly any before that

all the Schoolboy Q hype died after that shit Oxymoron album

lol

What kind of prog rock do you listen to?

Danny already released the hybrid that generated a moderate amount of buzz. He also hang out with 50 cent and G-unit. XXX was recorded in an actual studio.

Also including meme rnb.

>Malibu
>Views
>TLOP
>Blond
>Still Brazy
>All of YT's crap
>Coloring Book

Getting kinda tired of this shit.

...

the harmonies in white lines lmao this shit's crazy

>radio song

you're gonna have to try harder than that

>insinuating fields hook isn't one of the best in Dannys career

Blonde is a wonderful album,

NO WAY WILL I EVER SAVE A HOOOOOOOOO

Reminder that Danny is L I T E R A L L Y our guy and his cat is named after the best girl in Persona 4.

Views and TLOP were shit and recognised as such basically immediately, only normies hype up Kanye/Drake. Blond was because Frank cockteased the album for 6 years. Coloring book was bad but i'll concede people hyped it up. I dont even remember still brazy threads except ones shitting on it

Please listen to it before you talk shit.

xxx is untouchable, I seriously doubt he'll do anything that amazing again.

I'll have to listen to this a few more times to pick up the nuances but I'm pretty confident in saying that this is better than Old. there are a few songs that I didn't like, but for the most part this is great.

damn

based

Malibu > Still Brazy > TLOP > Jeffery > Blonde > I'm Up > SS3 >>>>>>>>>>> CB >>>>>>>> Views

>>Malibu

lol nowhere close

>>Views

yes but everyone realized it sucked as soon as it came out, nobody was calling it AOTY

>>TLOP

same as Views

>>Blond

I'll give you this one, but Blond is pretty good.

>>Still Brazy

literally no one hyped this

>>All of YT's crap

who?

>>Coloring Book

nowhere near the same level and everyone knew it was mediocre when it released

this is better than xxx

xxx starts out really fucking strong but kinda loses itself towards the end

this stays strong the entire way through

give it time but people will realize

They unironically referred to something as meme rap, that ain't happening.

fuck no it's not lmao, be realistic.

DANCE IN THE WATER

AND I GET WET

"I sell honey to a bee"
mfw

Nah, XXX surprises you around every corner. That album is untouchable.

it's the best song on the album

why's white lines the best track

Better than XXX honestly. More ambitious.

>More ambitious.

Doesn't make it better.

People called the witchouse beat on Old ambitious and that has aged like shit.

XXX starts strong, dips, peaks again, dips again, finishes perfectly.

>witchouse beat on Old

what

I liked Old a lot. And IMO the ambition DOES make it better. XXX is good but ultimately it is still pop-rap. The beats are GOOD but they aren't actually innovative/experimental, whereas these ones definitely are.

>dips

What dips, I'm genuinely curious. Up until Nosebleeds it's literally perfect. Yes, even radio song.

>when it rain
>ok this seems pretty good so f-
>1:22
>mfw

>XXX is good but ultimately it is still pop-rap.

God, just fuck off.

explain how I'm wrong

>XXX
>pop-rap

man just because its not "innovative/experimental" to your standards doesn't make it "pop-rap". wew

malibu is fucking good dont lump it in with the rest of that shit

someone link me it, LIKE FUCK

>Lost
>Worst

u ok m8?

Radio Song-Lie4-I Will are okay but not as good as the first 3 tracks

The second dip is EWNESW-Fields-Scrap or Die

I don't think it's fair to compare this to XXX, honestly. compared to Old, this blows Old out of the water.

since this was released on Warp, we all knew that we were going to get some fantastic sounds and crazy beats, and we got that. pair that up with danny's insane flow and wordplay, and we got, in my opinion, an album who's main purpose is to give his fanbase a plethora of tracks that showcase how experimental and forward thinking danny brown and his producers are. it's basically him saying "LOOK AT ME TAKE 15 BEATS AND ABSOLUTELY DOMINATE THEM"

but XXX is incomparable. I honestly can't think of another album that portrays drugs as dark and gritty as XXX. it's all about the comeup, the peak, the crash, and continuing the cycle. it's an album you can listen to over and over and have it flow beautifully. AE doesn't have that flow. we're gonna be skipping around the tracks to find our favorites, but when we listen to XXX, we listen to it from beginning to end.

XXX > AE = The Hybrid > Old

rt

it was hyped but it didn't carry past a week or so

look it up, m4a sounds better

ysleaks.com/danny-brown-atrocity-exhibition-itunes.html

reminder that there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with a song being pop-centric

>it was hyped but it didn't carry past a week or so

this has been hyped for months

It's not pop rap.

here

No one gave a shit about coloring book, it was shit

what makes it NOT pop rap?

was talking about blankface, which was hyped but it didnt last long.

atrocity exhibition on the other hand will undoubtedly be in the aoty discussion

i can already tell this is gonna be a good read

>Radio Song

Can understand.

>Lie4-I Will

Nope, both great songs. I Will is one of the classics of the album

>EWNESW-Fields-Scrap or Die

Can understand EWNESW and scrap or die to some extend.

Still, there isn't a single bad song on the album.

there's something about get hi that makes me like it even though I really shouldn't

maybe it's the psychedelic rock influences

That song was definitely Talking Heads inspired

A 9 from Fantano is pretty much guaranteed.

its how dusty and smoked it sounds
and the mmMMMMmmmmmm background vocals

>Still, there isn't a single bad song on the album.

I agree, I just think there are peaks and troughs.

the concept of the album, the eclectic production, the very strong drug references. all pop-rap does in regards to drug references is talk about molly and xanax. XXX was about some serious drug usage.

pop-rap is rap that is made for radio play. I can't think of any tracks aside from the last third that could have feasibly had radio time.

might even be a 10 desu

same

i hope so

danny has said he watches fantano and he also seems like the sort to care about critic's opinions

Danny's my favorite rapper

XXX was better, by far

Who cares what that bald meme-spewing fuck thinks? Do YOU like the album or not?

ye xxx is pretty noisy and some of the beats are a little too orthodox to be as pop rap as say a j cole but it doesn't matter anyway. it's cute to see u try to have an opinion though

the track with purity ring

oh my god hell for it is the perfect ending, the musical equivalent of dropping the mic

Pic related. Matter of fact, pic related was when pretty much every beat dropped. Manic, interesting, and exciting. Except Get Hi, that shit is awful.
I actually think outside of Ab-Soul the features were perfect, and even Ab-Soul wasn't as disappointing as he normally is.
I would give XXX like a 7/10 and I think this is much closer to a 9/10. Not even a competition imo.
TLOP had hype because it was a Kanye release but from the moment it came out opinions were pretty clearly divided. As for Coloring Book, Cred Forums hasn't been on Chance's dick since like late 2013.
The only ones of those that got actual praise and not like ten retards jerking off for a couple days were Malibu and Blond. Views was a near universal disappointment, TLOP was divisive until like a week after the "final version" was released and the consensus then was mediocrity, Still Brazy was never really cared for.

If your definition of pop-rap is broad enough to include XXX than it might as well include something like The Infamous.

I just think it's refreshing for a rap artist to take influences from post punk and industrial instead of the usually lil Wayne/jay z/ Kanye worship

>hooks
>melodies
>krazy beats
It's pop rap

>I would give XXX like a 7/10

this fucking guy

pop rap is rap made for radio time. name one track on XXX that could have been on the radio.

how many rap albums these days have you repeating the closing 2 tracks

fucking amazing 8.5/10

>pop rap is rap made for radio time.
This guy

Radio Song

On my first listen atm...

Really getting blown away by Ain't it Funny - Pneumonia

Playing Pneumonia right now, what should I expect from the end?

>this guy

This guy

You a cheeky cunt

i like it a lot
waaay better than Old, that's undeniable.

>first single he released for the new album
you're late

dance in the water best track the rest is mediocre as fuck.

>TURN DOWN FOR WHAT

Holy fuck this just blew my mind

I've been holding out to go into the album fresh

was worth

Y-you did visit Cred Forums this year, right?

what song does he say taht lmao

Cause we living in that

Had them demons on my back
Was escaping through that
Blamed everybody but myself
Apologies for that
So they hold a nigga back
For the way that I act
People scared of doing business
Thinking I smoke crack
I react immature
To anyone talking smack
Cause where I'm from respect
The only thing that you have
Grew up virtually poor
Realities unmasked
So my task
Is inspire your future with my past
I lived through that shit
So you don’t have to go through it
Stepping stones in my life

Every time talk with me

Feel David Ruffin pain
Wanna cry right now
So I’m wishing that it rain
Cause I’m knowing I’m the best

Have a bitch like Iggy
Think she sicker than me
And that’s so fucked up
That’s just how this shit be
I just wanna make music
Fuck being a celebrity
Cause these songs that I write
Leave behind my legacy

Nobody really hyped Still Brazy, it was just really fucking good so people talked about it after it came out.

Right now my hip hop AOTY is either Still Brazy or Honor Killed the Samurai. Really loving Atrocity Exhibition so far as well, so those are probably my top 3.

Blond, birds in the trap, Untitled/unmastered malibu, and Jeffery were good to decent but not even close to these three.

Views TLOP Schoolboy Q were all garbage

wish id done that lol

at least aiint it funny wasnt released having that just start on me was nuts

Really solid up until the last two songs. Get Hi I feel like is an either a hit or miss, and I personally thought the closer was pretty weak desu. Despite how different each song is I thought this was one of the most solid and consistent albums this year.

listen to RAP Music by Killer Mike and prod by El-P, blows RTJ away

I will.

Real shit coming through:
Best : Downward Spiral
Runner-up : Golddust
Worst: Really Doe

Truth. Also listen to Funcrusher Plus because it's still possibly the best thing El-P ever touched.

desu el-p has a great history it's a shame he'll be remembered for reddit

>funcrusher+
>def jux era releases & production
>the cold vein
>RAP music

Didn't disappoint 9/10 first listen

>Literally zero
Party All the Time
Radio Song
EWNNESW

Scrap or Die

Probably one more

Killer Mike annoys the fuck out of me. One step away from being Immortal Technique.

>ronald reagan 666, he was the devil lol

Those last few songs on SB tho

Would have been wonderful to hear his dead ass on lost, I might be saying that because it has a rza-esque instrumental.

I like how the title downward spiral references the lyrics of XXX

racist

Thought 30 was a better ending desu. Still like it though.

My initial reaction to the first two listens is: great album, better than Old for sure.

XXX is one of my favorite hip hop "albums" ever, and this doesn't touch it, but I'm glad Danny didn't try to make a XXX 2 or similar, but something really different. Some of the hooks are just pretty weak, and I'm pretty disappointed in the lyrics since I love Danny's wit, over-the-top metaphors, catchy lines etc. which AE lacked. Honestly I'm really confused how some people already are saying this is better than XXX

>ronald reagan 666, he was the devil lol
He was.

I actually think this is the most consistent album to release in recent memory. The 3 times I've listened to this album so far, I always dread Rolling Stone for some reason, but I enjoy it every time.

People say they dislike Get-Hi, and even though I like it if not just for the jazz wordplay, I can totally understand how it could be divisive.

Hell For It isn't as good a closer as 30 (probably one of the GOAT closers) but it's good in its own right.

The rest of the album ranges from 9.5-10

in context with the album all those have great hooks aside from Radio Song

...

i laughed when he did it.

tfw no one EVER talks about the cold vein anymore

kind of sad :(

I just skimmed this thread and I haven't seen anyone say this is better than XXX, but I think it's undeniably better than Old and only a couple notches down from XXX.

I love how AE keeps such a consistent and unique theme without falling into redundancy like Blank Face LP and Malibu did this year

>NEVER NEVER NO
>NO WAY, UH UH
>NO WAY
>NO WAY WILL I EVER SAVE A HO

the 666 is a joke baka, the Reagan part is entirely serious

ive always been lukewarm on xxx and i thought old was some serious trash (no offence to anyone that likes it lmao)

I wasn't expecting to like this at all and didn't listen to any singles. But this entire album is reaaallllyyy nice. i've never heard anything like "lost" before, this album feels completely separate from his last 2 to me. The production is so much better all over the thing

Another user was saying that AE reminded him of the cold vein in how it was chaotic and sounded like hiphop that sounded timeless, or rather so far ahead of it's time it would sound contemporary in ten or more years like the cold vein.

Haven't heard it yet but judging from the album title and when it rain, it's a dark, experimental and depressive record, no?

Those are just very general hip hop tropes. If having these is enough for an album to be classified as pop-rap further more precise subgenre identification becomes arbitrary and that is bad, since obviously having more precise knowledge of something is better than only having general knowledge of it.

Not that guy but I still listen to it all the time. The last three songs are so fucking good.

Pigeon is godly

this is where rap memes get you

I have never so much pleb taste in one post.

XXX > Old > AE

hard truth, it's still a cool album though - just not his best

XXX > Black and Brown! > AE > Hybrid > Old

For anyone who hasn't checked out Black and Brown!, please do, it's incredible, and I think Danny was peaking at that moment.

Luckily, AE appears to be a new peak.

...

Like someone said earlier, it seems like the two just appeal to different crowds. The people that say it's better than XXX didn't really love XXX in the first place.

Ain't it Funny is fucking song of the year goddamn

this is ironically on the same level as the cold vein. Though ive not had time to read the lyrics for this one i assume they are much worse than can ox lul

shit is so good man. First part of the album took me a sec to warm up to but I was in love by the end. 9/10 ready to listen to it again.

Not as dark as you'd think, more experimental than you'd think

Cause you a faggot

...

>he will never surpass XXX

Old is legitimately shit. I tried hard to like it.

>too many features
>dumb as fuck hype songs like dope song and smokin' and drinkin'
>kush koma sucks
>closer sucks
>lonely, clean up, red 2 go suck

Only song that goes hard is Handstand. The Return is decent.

...

This album was very close to doing that

I think I have PTSD from listening to 25 Bucks for the first time

one of my favorite hip hop albums desu

>Only song that goes hard is Handstand
opinion discarded

We legitimately just don't know yet if this album will surpass XXX, because it's basically a modern classic at this point

>closer sucks
I like Unknown Pleasures better too but come on man

dope song was dope tho

...

>tfw i like old

This album is so, so so much better than
>Slobbing on that pussy after that I don't cuddle
>I put that dick up on her make her sleep in the puddle

xxx was great. But this is actually just better

it's widely recognised as a classic on here but it suffers from the backpacker curse in that only backpackers gave a shit about it initially despite not really being backpacker rap

>tfw Old > AE

yeah I agree with this one
haven't listened to black and brown though

I think I misread user's post. Was he saying XXX has no hooks or XXX has no shitty hooks? I was pointing out songs with hooks.

ok just listened to Ain't it Funny with good headphones for the first time and now I get the hype behind the song

explain

...

I remember actually recoiling when I heard 25 bucks.

Underatted

>>kush koma sucks

wonder how he's gonna react to AE

Lmfao

beat is trashy, the hook sucks and it has one of the weakest rocky verses

>that phone book line

hes gonna have a heart attack with aint it funny

>XXX
>garbage
neck yourself cunt

Get Hi is hilarious I love it

That was me that said that, it certainly does, the general consensus in five years will be that this is Danny's magnum opus

are you illiterate?

>this reading comprehension

>tfw danny brown listens to NIN and references it in his music

I'LL

Idk man, this album is pretty incredible.

this man is correct you can tell immediately that this is something special. i hardly like any rap these days either lmao. White lines is the only song i dont like and lots of people on here said it was their favourite

...

The first verse is like how many jazz references we can make in 1 minute

this album flows perfectly

Each moment examined opens up like a fractal and you can just descend into it soaking up the way each sample collides with each other. I love this analog shit

I think I'm starting to already like this more than XXX. I mean XXX is still fucking fantastic, and it will also be considered a modern classic, but this is just crazy.

NOT GET OLD

Its just ok. Definitely better than Old though.

>Dance In The Water beat
Danny just knows how to pick em.

Bet 1000 shoot 1000

that happens a few times. Somewhere he says 'blunt after blunt', and White Lines is a reference to 30

just roll up and take the pain away
and get HIIIIGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

>just ok
it'll grow on you, you'll end up loving it

It's better than ok

>that melody on White Lines
he just doesn't give a fuck

9/10 get hi is the only song im on the fence with other then that every song is great. Aoty after No Sleep 2

really loving the chill tracks rn

I know When It Rain was released a while back but fuck it's a great track. I love how it gets more and more energetic as it progresses.

Lost is such a nostalgic song

Feels like what me and my friends in 8th grade would freestyle

It's strange hearing Danny do his quiet serious voice. I wish I heard more of it honestly.

i love how dusty and smoked the productuion sounds

>mmmMMMMMMMMMmmM
from the ground is another favourite

All the previously released singles sound fresh and take on a new meaning in the context of the album, really a masterpiece

That is not even true
XXX = AE > Old

I agree completely. Hearing something in the context of an album is way different than just hearing it on it's own.

Listen to his pre-hybrid shit

It's all that

I hope so. I love XXX to death and spun Old a lot even though I knew it was mostly shit. Paul White is a great producer as always. I'm pretty high so maybe a lot of the nuances in the cray production is lost on me right now.

Yeah I think XXX and this are so neck and neck it's hard to say which one is better.
Yeah I've got the Hot Soup remaster but that's about it. What else should I check out?

Rolling Stone is underrated

This is the best rap album in years. Perhaps since Piñata or XXX itself

Golddust is some straight up NIN shit YOOOOOO

Can someone spoonfeed me a link please?

I cbf googling

preferably a 320kbps mp3 on mega.co.nz

>Danny Brown
>mediocre
>meme rap

no

I thought Old was pretty damn great. I think the second half is probably where people think it gets worse. First half is the more introspective Danny.
You're forgetting a lot of hip hop albums mate.

If you high these beats should sound bananas

OLD isnt even really shit. XXX was just so good anything would have sounded worse than it actually was

iTunes m4a

www14.zippyshare.com/v/21OrBP6Z/file.html

anyone else love how instantly and jarringly danny jumps on the lost beat lmao

This album really embodies the Detroit assembly line lurch that infects all of the rap and electronic music that comes out of the city.

Today is spooky as fuck.

No this is just that high a caliber. Unless you wanna start name dropping.

This

is this a joke or actually that good?

I can't stop smiling while listening to this, it's so fucking good.

dude this is fuckign amamzign lmfao

I honestly think Aesops The Impossible Kid is incredible. Masta Ace's The Falling Season. Just my opinion of course.

Hawaiian snow, I think his first mixtape called Resevoir dogs. You can easily find his old blogspot (Danny brown had a blogspot it's fucking dope) with all his own shit up for download

Fuck yes

Feel like Cred Forums is the only place I'll find where they say Old is shit. I still don't really get it. I don't know, that's probably because I've heard Old live and got that full experience

get hi just transports me to another realm holy shit

>tfw white lines is an alchemist track
so happy to see him not falling off like clams.

RYM is trash. Take a listen for yourself.
Fuck yeah, thanks mate.

this is fucking fantastic.
even though i couldn't really get into his other stuff

fuck why is Lost so catchy bros

dude weed lmao

Hawaain Snow has one of the best collabs ever. Trap Ball with Lil B is amazing. Even Yayo killed his verse

his production on Summertime 06 was some of his best. His solo release sucked.

Imagine the recording process for dance in the water

Not even XXX? I know there's a lot of sex and drug talk but there's a lot of introspection in there too.

i agree with everything u just said user

They really hate it because it's got edm beats and they can't deal with LE POP RAP

It's a great album

>Clams
>Fall off
Both legends, Alc is clearly better, but Clams aint fall. His output is just really slow. Gonna see him, Lil B, and Keyboard Kid on tour.

damn I thought 32 Levels was good

the edm beats made me feel ill tbhhh

Why do so many of you guys hate old?

For me XXX is a 9.5 and old is a 9, old had amazing singles.

i dunno man i think i probably just didnt give it a real chance
will definitely try again after this

>yfw When it Rain hits after from the ground

True about Old. XXX set a high bar. And I'm pretty gone man. They are interesting and fun beats for sure but they just end coming off grating or overbearing in the face of Danny's lyrics. I'd love all the instrumentals alone on an album but they took away from most of the lyrics to me. I never come here anymore (Like 4 years) but its nice to see people willing to discuss rap.

I loved Impossible Kid when it dropped, then I stopped listening to it. Just last week I put it on again, and it's even better than I remember. Great album, arguably one of the best Aesop has released in his entire career.

Summertime 06 was in my aoty list. Such a good album.

It's obviously inflated right now, but I can see why people would give it so many high ratings right off the bat. It really gets its hooks into you.

This has to be one of the most musically ambitious rap albums of all time. my dream is that this album finally shows that Danny took Kanye behind the shed and blew his brains out the minute XXX dropped

I've listened to it so many times. It's fantastic, and the production imo is out of this world. Very alien like. Whole thing hits me right in the feels.

>Both legends
confirmed. i'd like to see clams surprise me though
idk it wasn't for me but he's still gonna be sick live

32 levels was inconsistent as hell and Lil B, despite being a really fun guy, is a meme rapper. He isn't doing anything substantial but All Nite gives me hope he'll start actually working with serious talent

Which is weird to me because that say they hate Old for those EDM beats...yet many times I've seen people on here say that song he did with Rustie Atak is one of his best songs.

Then again most of Cred Forums doesn't even know what the fuck it is they like or don't so it's probably best to ignore it.

Danny brown first rapper to rap over a clock

>meme rapper
no one takes you seriously when you describe people like that

...

nah daveed diggs already did the alarm clock

>White Lines

HOLY SHIT THIS IS GOOD

oh thanks mate

LICK YOUR ASS DELIRIOUS

i know this is bait, but on a side note, sremmlife 2 is lit af, light 8/10 imo

Fantano hated it so I probably won't listen to it.

I don't care how misused it is. If we went into an in depth discussion of why Lil B has more personality than flow or lyrics we would need a new thread

>MADE 30 BANDS IN 30 MINUTES

Danny Brown is the epithome of meme rap friendo, and the fact yall are swallowing this album up because of muh grimdark production and aesthetics it's fucking pathetic.

It is 2016 and we are still using meme rap on Cred Forums? Meme rap isnt real. The guy that coined it here, on this board said so.

Lil B is the trendsetter of this gen and shall be respected as such. Real niggas know
twitter.com/xdannyxbrownx/status/297353903740182528

The fact that Danny Brown already sounds a lot like Andre 3000 made his lyrical sampling of Bombs Over Baghdad really jarring. Not in a bad way, mind you, it was just sort of trippy.

NEW THREAD

Than just say he's a quirky guy. No need to use stupid fucking retard terms like meme all the time. Kill yourself cunt.

Everyone's saying how much Fatano's gonna hate this, but I don't see why anybody would think that. This album's full of this industrial vibe that Anthony's been creaming himself over recently with his whole noise-rock 8/10 obsession.

Definitely hear the talking heads influence he was talking about in dance in the water.

define meme rap, fuckstick

You just havent heard enough Brandon. How you hear Chasing the Rain or Exhibit Based and say he doesnt have lyrics? Lmao

>Fantano
>hating this
Who the fuck said that. He already loved When it Rain

Pneumonia is fucking lit

Idk what you guys are talking about with Get Hi being bad. This is a better closer than the actual closer

>meme rap
Reminder that if you actually used this word to anyone in real life they'd smack you across the face. Fucking children on the internet I swear.

...

Or "Thank You Basedgod" the song. He was flowing on that

Yeah Get Hi is actually full of emotions and feels.

But the entire song was written around the feature?

New thread

>plunderphonic danny brown record

now ive heard it all

It's just the classic RYM hyperbole
However this is easily one of the AOTY

Only people who dont smoke weed dont like it. Cuz everybody else knows the love of sitting back after a long day and busting open a pack of that piff and smelling it. Aaaaah

Only nerds can't into Get Hi

Definitely hits me pretty hard desu

ok im all for DUDE WEED memes but this is actually so true. Shit gave me serious feels honestly man

lmao are you 14?

It reads like a joke, but really Get Hi is basically a tribute track to smoking weed. Plain in simple. If you're not into smoking weed or weed culture in general you most likely will not care for the track. Stoners who are rap fans will eat this track up.

>meme rap
Anyone who uses this term unironically should consider suicide.

> Plain in simple
Is that you Ricky?

these are the best beats ive heard in years. howd he get them?

holy FUCK he did it again.

I've been a huge fan of his since The Hybrid and XXX was my favorite release of his while Old did really live up to the hype.

AE on the other hand just takes a complete 180 in the direction i thought his career was going in, Every song is unique in it's own way. The production is clean and crisp. This album is just original as fuck. got DAMN

Danny is Top 5

right, old was such a step down and this is just perfect. complete u-turn

am i the only one who fucking loves old? There isn't a single song on there that I don't
love.

this, By chance through black beatles had me ecstatic

also look alive is skywlkr's favorite hip hop song of the year so I wouldn't be surprised if it did somewhat influence the sound of AE

blank face was great though
