Cuckold fetish.

he's changed the game twice and has at least 5+ great albums

>why does kanye west have fans?

fyi, bitch nigga, most people hate kanye for some reason or the other

he's like trump, except you can always count on kanye for some quality bars

I think Kanye West is highly skilled at attracting media attention and establishing a brand for himself, but I do not think that he is talented musically. He knows who to hire to make and compose music for him, though. He also makes some good choices when deciding who to sample, like Arthur Russell.

why do normies shit themselves over this image?

Huge Kanye fan here.
Celebrity culture in general is based around one thing in general, and that's that no matter what time period humans love to have people that they can pop up as being above them and praise.
It gives them something they can aspire to be, and acting as though some humans can attain some status other than the mundane flies directly in the face of the nihilistic void.
Kanye has modeled his career in a way that hits every single button to be considered a legend, with the MBDTF-Now era establishing him on a godly level in the minds of people.
And it's not all bunk, Kanye and being Kanye not only creates a character (which all celebrities are) in the same vein of a story character that you can root for, but he also creates memories, and memories are important.
Kanye may not be a "God" but when you're 60 you're going to want to talk about the time Kanye shut down and lead a chase through New York, you're gonna want to talk about the anticipation/hype for Pablo culminating in Kanye/Chance performing ULB on SNL, you're gonna wanna talk about the Madison Square Garden show, you're gonna wanna talk about Good Fridays and the Taylor incident, etc etc.
Tl;dr Praise Yeezus (and Hova)

Not true.
West's production prowess is undeniable.

I don't actually. Kanye West has no importance in my life.

I have a BIG list of reasons!!!

>1. Great beats
...Welp, that's about it

I'm not using you're to refer to individual people.
I'm just explaining what I've gathered from the way people worship celebs.

it's the first rap kids heard where it wasn't all about drugs, money, women. that's it. baby's first rap artist

kanye west is a fucking nigger

Thank you for your insight.

because he's a god

I'm a Kanye fan but that video is so stupid

no it isn't

>Why do people worship Kanye West so much?
gee I dunno maybe because mainstream tastemakers have been telling them to for over a decade

Kanye is kind of like the Weezer of rap. His early stuff was ahead of its time and still holds up well, but his talent and creativity has been mostly exhausted.

This image only works if the whole backdrop was one solid shade. Stupid nigger

what do you mean

I think Kanye has the creativity and ambition to make risks and succeed, but his vision is not concise and his work (lyricism, production, content) would be much better with more thought, time, and work behind it.
I feel like he still kind of dances on the surface level of things, not really diving deep into his mind.
I have faith in Kanye, I just don't think he's reaching his full potential and selling himself short (even though people are eating it all up).

Little exposure to music outside of contemporary top 40 warps your perspective.

stop killing my idols user

I really hope his verse on No More Parties In LA is a good indicator for what new Kanye stuff will be like, he can be so much better.

>Kanye West
he's from the middle class, so middle-class kids feel comfortable with him.

all that shit you're talking about is for super-fans only.
99% of the population is NOT going to be talking about Kanye in any way shape or form when they're 60.
I don't even know what most of those incidents are now

>the MBDTF-Now era establishing him on a godly level in the minds of people.
MFW
>Kanye creates memories, and memories are important.
MFW
>the time Kanye shut down and lead a chase through New York
No idea what this refers to

>you're gonna want to talk about the anticipation/hype for Pablo culminating in Kanye/Chance performing ULB on SNL,
No idea what ULB is, and only fans would have cared about his album, obviously

>the Madison Square Garden show
no idea, but surprised he's only performed there once

>you're gonna wanna talk about Good Fridays
the fuck are you talking about??

>and the Taylor incident
this one I know because it got me wondering what his problem was, then I saw a clip of him on Ellen and wow, he's bipolar, that's all. Case closed.
Guys like you think he's a "genius" because you don't now what it's like to be bipolar, I suppose. You are mistaking odd behaviour for genius. He's produced absolutely nothing that points to him being any more a genius than Drake.
Certainly A LOT less than Brad Mehldau/John Luther Adams/Paul McCartney/Miles Davis/Jennifer Higdon/Neil Young/Joni Mitchell, et al.

Populist Nihilism

He used to be well liked for being the backpack rapper and bridging the mainstream and artsy and thug and concious rappers together in an era when gangsta rap was dominating and twisting hip hop and rap's image.

He always had a huge ego, but it really went to his head after getting super mainstream and getting with the Kardashians (ironically after having a song about Golddiggers)

His production sensibility in uncanny. Loved his work on Common's Be album.

Creative tracks like FML are a good reason why he has such a big fanbase. Kanye's fans are pretty dense and boring people. While many artists in his position end up just making pretty boring lifeless party music after one or two good albums. Kanye continue to try and one up himself due to his own insecurities.

Regardless, dude makes good music that transcends most boring wack rapper that white people fall head over heels for.

Because he makes good music that people enjoy.

Be (Intro) is peak Kanye. Was all downhill from there

he's quite literally the latest puffy daddy

that's all there is to it

The way that intro builds up is fucking amazing

>black
>his life matters

I don't know, he just produce shit, I haven't heard a single song I liked by him

This.

kanye makes shit rap that only fake niggas and tryhard whites think is good

kanye makes good rap that only fake niggas and tryhard whites think is bad

Nowadays it's hypebeast culture keeping him aloft. His last album TLOP was really not that great. At all. But because it is Kanye West you have to like it. If you don't "You just don't get it" are a racist and probably watch incest porn. As least that's what I've been told by a 14 year old Kanye West fan. Someone who was like 2-4 years old when Kanye's first albums came out. Someone who's first Kanye West album was 808s and Heartbreak. Maybe that's where the disconnect lies? I'm 21 and a lot of people around my age who were once huge Kanye West fans are just starting to grow tired of all his antics and his rants. The man is going through a midlife crisis and possibly hitting a creative rut.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you.
He is a self-centred idiot and his followers are basically blind and deaf sheep.
He didn't "change the game", you're just too busy with your nose up his ass that you'd swallow his farts and think you're in heaven.
Granted, his social media/marketing teams must be working 60 hours a week because every time he walks out his front door, the press is all over him.
He isn't original and basically he is mainstream enough that all the kids are drinking the Koolaid.

Not him, but Kanye really did help change the game; Starting with the success of The College Dropout and culminating with Graduation beating 50 Cent to the top of the mainstream hip hop charts, Kanye basically helped end gangsta rap's hold on the mainstream and ushered in a new age of introspective lyricism in hip hop, along with paving the way for hip hop artists not from an impoverished urban neighborhood to be accepted as serious artists. The second time he helped change things is when 808s and Heartbreaks inspired the subject matter and general style of the artists who top the hip hop charts now, including Drake and probably J.Cole as well. As much of a sperg he is, his praise isn't exactly unfounded. Plus, between those two albums, he put out MBDTF, which is Cred Forumscore.

(you)

Endgame argument:

All the media shit is a meme. Either you're into the story and the man or you aren't. The real point here is his music is emotionally and skillfully charged and delivers time and time again (imo).

I started out like any other hater. Only knew stuff like Jesus Walks and his media ego. Then MBDTF came out and got 10s across the board. I was like, an album hasn't made this massive of an impact since Kid A (not a meme/bait)- so I better check this out. In turn I received a very gamechanging album that instantly made me wanna hear more.

Kanye's the type of guy that- sure he might not be the best guy on the track, or be a technically gifted rapper, but he's like your best friend that you dig his personality even thru his faults. He might say some cringey shit (swagheili) but his highs are so high and captivating that that shit can be put aside.

Kanye's a superhuman. Face it, if you put yourself through his life of climbing the music industry ladder with a thirst to create-- if you rose so high that you had all the fame and fortune and a socialite wife and lambo's and shoe lines and shit-- how could you remain a normal human being? (Name one genius that ain't crazy) why is it that you see millionaire's who still work their hands to the bone rather than just sit on their throne all day?

one of the most consistent producer ever

not to mention that while Yeezus wasn't the first rap album that was abrasive and noisy in that way, it certainly popularized it and made it more mainstream

plus he's got a slew of iconic looks and a taste for art and design, so really in most respects he's the closest thing that there is to a bona-fide rockstar (like glam-era Bowie) today

Drink drain cleaner asap

could you name some other albums with that abrasive quality? rap or not

half of Yeezus is Aphex Twin ripoffs anyway
good album though, his best

Aleph - Gesaffelstein
No Love Deep Web - DG
pretty much anything by Arca

thanks man
