Tindersticks - The Waiting Room
Danny Brown - Atrocity Exhibition
Esperanza Spalding - Emily's D+Evolution
Frank Ocean - Blonde
Ka - Honor Killed the Samurai

The Ka album, I only listened to recently, but it's definitely the most poetic rap album I've heard in a long, long time. It feels like a 36 Chambers rip off at times, but goddamn if I don't miss that sound

Haino, Jim O'Rourke & Oren Ambarchi -- I Wonder If You Noticed "I'm Sorry" Is Such a Lovely Sound It Keeps Things from Getting Worse
Haino & Zeitkratzer -- Aus Den Sieben Tagen
Clara Iannota -- A Failed Entertainment
Autechre -- elseq 1-5
Christian Wolff & Michael Pisaro -- Looking Around

my pretentious™-core list, in no order

I've heard of one of those, you can probably guess which one. But which one other than that one should I listen to if I posted

1. Bonny Bear - 22, A Million
2. DB - AE
3. Show Me the Body - Bodywar

Sirens

Wow big ups om some of these...

What do you think of that hovvdy record? How about clique's debut on top shelf?

I piss on your opinion.

yep aborting mission. this thing sucks

1. Not - I'm happy. Anyway, I'm not dying
2. Pinegrove - Cardinal
3. The Caretaker - everything at the end of time
4. Noname - telefone
5. Preoccupations - s/t

>Under the Sun by Mark Pritchard

youtube.com/watch?v=dFdGnX6HvCw

you have a flair for hip-hop, much like myself.

blackstar
atrocity exhibition

triggered desu

...

i actually didnt like viet cong nearly as much as preoccupations
idk senpai its just better

what in the fuck now I've heard everything

and me well I just wish woman was still a thing :(

dead inside -all night long
poile de carotte- colikot

?

ya i really enjoy hip hop. I listen to rock and electronic as well, but idk i feel like there hasn't been as many standout albums in those genres. maybe I haven't been paying attention all that well.

All Hip-Hop records on this list (no order):

Layers by Royce da 5'9
Lead Poison by Elzhi
Honor Killed The Samurai by Ka
The Empty Bank by Jay IDK
The Easy Truth by Apollo Brown & Skyzoo (Only been out for a few days, yet I can't help but keep it on repeat.)

And drab =/= subdued. It = dull. I respect that view because it is a very dreary, melancholy record, I just took not much of value from the melodies and thought the lyrics were cliché and not intriguing in any way

1. Kendrick Lamar - untitled unmastered.
2. Roly Porter - Third Law
3. Creative Adult - Fear of Life
4. Radiohead - Moon Shaped Pool
5. BADBADNOTGOOD - IV

I've found this year pretty disappointing so far desu.

Atrocity Exhibition
Lil' Boat
Telefone
Untitled Unmastered
Blond

Did you really like Lil Boat THAT much?

Yep. It is really fun and chill.

haino is a fucking retarded hack and you're a piece of shit for liking his music

Pleb

Probably something like:

1. Radiohead – A Moon Shaped Pool
2. David Bowie – Blackstar
3. Danny Brown – Atrocity Exhibition
4. Marissa Nadler – Strangers
5. Esperanza Spalding – Emily’s D+Evolution
6. Mitski – Puberty 2
7. Nick Cave – Skeleton Tree
8. Anderson. Paak – Malibu
9. Blood Orange – Freetown Sound
10. Sturgill Simpson – A Sailor’s Guide to Earth

Swans and Angel Olsen just miss out, and Bon Iver could get in there but it hasn't had the chance to grow on me enough yet (I found Atrocity Exhibition very immediate).

I think it's definitely better than Old and probably better than XXX. It's good -- give it a listen.

1. Jeffery - Young Thug
2. Atrocity Exhibition - Danny Brown
3. EVOL - Future
4. Arrayed Above the Seraphim Lights - Even Oxen
5. Presents: Demon City - Elysia Crampton

In no particular order
Blackstar
Splendor and Misery
Blonde

Can't decide on other two yet. Imperial might be one of my choices, but it doesn't impress me as much as the other three have.

First time i've updated my chart since the half-way point of the year. And there's a still a good amount of stuff i'm anticipating within the next month or so.

1.) a Moon shaped Pool- Radiohead
2.)the suns tirade- isaiah rashad
3.) Atrocity Exhibition-Danny Brown
4.) Amnesty(I)- Crystal Castles
5.) Cheetah- Aphex twin

and you still managed to miss the best hiphop records of the year. impressive.

1. Japanese Breakfast - Psychopomp
2. Deakin - Sleep Cycle
3. The Avalanches - Wildflower
4. The I.L.Y.'s - Scum With Boundaries
5. Mitski - Puberty 2

In no specific order:

The Glowing Man - Swans
The Colour in Anything - James Blake
Bottomless Pit - Death Grips
Xiu Xiu Plays The Music of Twin Peaks
The Life of Pablo - Kanye West
22, a Million - Bon Iver
Atrocity Exhibition - Danny Brown
Sirens - Nicolas Jaar
Splendour and Misery - Clipping.
Blackstar - David Bowie

1. Car Seat Headrest - Teens of Denial (fite me)
2. Nick Cave - Skeleton Tree
3. David Bowie - Blackstar
4. Danny Brown - Atrocity Exhibition
5. Swans - The Glowing Man

>1.Atrocity circus -DB
Kek, really doe, great album.

I would enjoy Danny Brown more if he didn't sound like an English-speaking duck.

Thanks for the rec

I was not a fan of Blood Bitch at all, but I don't think I'm the intended audience

5. Wiz Khalifa - Khalifa (I liked it fuck off)
4. Weezer - White Album
3. Chance The Rapper - Coloring Book
2. Frank Ocean - Blonde
1. Kanye West - The Life of Pablo

I love Wiz and couldn't stand that album for a second

a lot of people feel that way, I normally cant stand wiz but found him entertaining on the album.

I probably would've hated it a bit less if Wiz hadn't said beforehand that he wanted to get much more introspective on it, which literally never actually occured.

Literally this

see because I have no interest in wiz I had no idea the album was ever coming out, but when someone told me to give it a listen I was like ey mane dis shit lit

>Car Seat Headrest - Teens of Denial
>James Ferraro - Human Story 3
>Danny Brown - Atrocity Exhibition

That's about it, I've barely heard any records from this year

What should I check out?

You should honestly go listen to Kush and OJ. Great mixtape

No particular order, but

Frank Ocean - Blonde
Aesop Rock - The Impossible Kid
Utada Hikaru -Fantôme
Kendrick Lamar - untitled unmastered.
Kanye West - The Life of Pablo

Honorable Mentions
Charli XCX and SOPHIE - Vroom Vroom
Perfume - Cosmic Explorer (pissed me off and made me happier than nearly anything else)
Ladies Code - MYSTERY
Frank Ocean - Endless (hoooooooowee that first half is wonderful)

We could def hang

Just listen to it ad see how you feel. It's unique, that's for sure.
