fuck the price of freedom. Gimmie the sauce on that fucking Webm cunt.

Freedom is just made up to keep idiots like you busy.

Everyone is free, they just need to understand that they're not really constraint by anything to do anything. Ultimately, they can kill themselves and achieve maximum freedom.

The price of freedom is the fear induced by complete possibility.

thank u friend

>price of freedom
it's like the cake u know

The price of freedom is being forced to be patriotic and not being allowed to sit for the national anthem without receiving backlash

a certain level of insanity

If yoy sit for the national anthem it better be because you want to sit the fuck down because your legs are tired. Not because you think in some sort of civil rights delusion that institutionalised racism still exists. You sit down to ironically stay seated when you ask the white man to do something about the white man.

Lazy virtue signalling kaepernick.

You can't buy freedom, it doesn't exist. We only operate within the boundaries of conditions that ar beyond our control. Go even deeper into it and we're just "dead" stuff being moved along by the fundamental forces reacting to other stimulus from similar clumps of matter.

>yfw freewill is a lie and everything is predetermined and measurable
>yfw you'll forever be a slave to the fate designated to you when the universe exploded into existence
>yfw you were doomed to make the decisions you've made and you're doomed to make the decisions you will make

Here's music for it while you ponder.

Society is a ultimate costly myth.

Humans willingness to skew their ethics toward primitive tribal affiliations yields groupthink, dehumanization, and all manner of horrors, due to the elevation of the perceived value of imaginary group identity over the dignified natural rights of the individual. On an individual level, humans overwhelmingly behave individually, sanely, rationally, respectfully, in keeping with the human experience over our social history. As soon as people think they belong to something greater than themselves, some fucking race, nation, religion, church, football team, society, they debase their faculties and all ethics are suspended.

"Society" or whatever racket you perceive that to be, is always the death of freedom.

Lat name please.

If he sits during that shitty British song, it only needs to be because he is free to do so and it's not even a good fucking song. Not in the 1700s, not in the 1800s, and certainly not since the American invention of Rock & Roll.

There are a thousand songs that would make a better national anthem.

The rejection of fear as a concept.

Responsibility. You are free to choose, and you are free to experience the full consequences of your actions, knowing that whatever they may be, it's all on you. You can't blame anybody else.

Death.

Fuck freedom, what's the price on that girl?

The freedom to be grossly ignorant and a destructive presence in the world.

Nice try fabs. nailed it. (Me).

m-me so hooony

me love u long time

Freedom is the greatest burden of a thinking individual, the greatest joy of the unthinking idiot, and both a great opportunity and a terrible curse. We are free when we accept our power over ourselves, and slaves when we defer that agency to another. No man of integrity and intelligence could suffer the shackles of another's authority if it meant violating his ethics. No weak-hearted man could hope to suffer such a responsibility.

Aaaaaaaaand

/Thread. Truly.

the true price of freedom is that you never return.

Did you cum yet?

If you can never return, then how can you be free? If we can choose not to return, then that's what makes us free, There is no price, it's a choice

Fear has little to do with freedom. Rejection of fear in its entirety would be simply recklessness. Fear is necessary for freedom. The fear of negative consequence allows us to act prudently to prevent them. Freedom without fear is foolishness. If the need is great, fear will be overcome, but it must be present to be conquered.

>British song
>Rock& roll
>American invention
Wanna know how I can tell your opinion doesn't matter?

An old pc-game. Full Name: Wing Commander IV - The Price of Freedom.

You mistake fear for anger. One who is angered by negative consequences avoids them. One who is fearful does nothing. Fear gives you nothing. It does nothing. It does not exist.

Free will is not to do what you want. It's to want, what you do.

If you should choose to return, then you were never really free.

Oops I dropped a kitchen knife on my dick. It's k I wanted to do that.

Fear is an anticipation of harm to one's self, this can be extended to those one holds as valuable as they are percoeved as extensions of the self. Anger is the expression of a need that is not being met. Fear is not a bad thing, it is simply the anticipation of harm, the recognition of a threat. It is important to note that fear makes us avoid threats, paralysing fear occurs when the threat cannot be avoided and the individual cannot see a means of avoiding a perceived danger and lacks the will to confront it.

Oops you defined anger again. You know who drops knives on their dicks? Those who are afraid of knives.

Basically, I'm saying those without fear are lying or dead. Those who are strong enough to sublimate their fear to achieve a goal are not fearless, they are just conditioned to being rewarded for confronting that fear.

You're also not saying anything resembling evidential thought.

Blood for the Blood God

Anger is a response to an unfulfilled need. Your definition of fear and anger is vastly different than mine. Anger requires no thought, fear requires anticipation of future events. Anger lives in the present, it is immediate, it is a reaponse. Fear is the result of anticipation of future harm. This can be observed in the victims of torture. A man who believes he still has a future will still feel fear, a man who has no hope of salvation loses all fear.

I like you

Fear IS the anticipation of future events. While you're thinking anticipated thoughts, you're dropping knives on ya dick. FYI YOU live in the present, which is why only anger helps solve problems. It IS the desire to solve problems.

Socialist revolution

You have no idea how your brain works, right?

You like fear. It gives you an excuse to other fearful people. You use it to manipulate and deceive them, and they do the same to you. It is the very obstruction of freedom, the area of hateful conflict, where everyone has the same value truly, but believes themselves to have the most.

Some say freedom is free
But I tend to disagree
I say freedom is won
By the barrel of a gun

My grandpa died in Vietnam nam
My father died in Panama
Tell me why why oh why
Did my family have to die
Tell me why why oh why
Did my loved ones have to die

I do actually. See

Yes, anger is an active force, it is the desire to satisfy a need, it compels action, it is immediate. Fear is anticipation, it is passive, it prevents action in the hopes of avoiding harm, it is useful, but ultimately less so than anger. This is true. BUT FEAR IS NOT ANGER. Fear exists, anger exists, freedom may or may not exist depending on whether or not determinism is valid, but if freedom exists, fear has its part to play.

I just meant that I liked their logic. Where the fuck did this manipulation bit come from?

Your dad died in Panama? What kind of pussy was he

There shouldn't be a price. It should just be

Actually your brain satisfies your preferences for you, like a computer. If you select fear as a preferred input, the output will be fear. Fear is always doing nothing however, passive. Anger is the dissatisfaction of unpreferrable circumstances, for example, being surrounded by a bunch of fearful do nothings.

Right? 2nd easiest war America ever fought.

MAXIMUM EDGE, teen edition

Zack Fair's life.

Fear can prevent harm if it is rational. But fear can be used to override rational thought in the absence of knowledge that contradicts it. The rejection of irrational fear is a good thing, it is the sign of a healthy mind, the fear exists, but it is overcome in the face of logic and fact.

if you dont throw in your buck o five, who will?

Fear is never rational, because doing nothing is never preferable to anything. Name a rational fear.

>whats the price of freedom ?

Fear is a universal response, proper fear management is not. Fear stems from anticipation of some harmful citcumstance. It SHOULD provoke consideration of the circumstance that allows a course of action that minimizes risk while achieving the desired result. It should be recognized and analysed to provide a more thorough understanding of the situation. When fear paralyses or impedes thought it is due to an inability to properly process information in a productive manner. Fear is like fire, useful when controlled and channeled, dangerous when allowed to burn free.

That's not what I've meant. I've meant the neurobiological processes.

Fear will make us avoid poinonous snakes, walking off cliffs, punching bears, trying to dive 40 metres to see what's at the bottom of the ocean without training or breathing apparatus, jumping in front of cars, shouting "Fucking Niggers" at the million man march over a bullhorn, opening an incinerator on full burn without waiting for it to cool, trying to pick a fight in a bar with a group of Hell's Angels, going for a cop's gun at a routine traffic stop, etc. Fear tells us when we are about to do something stupid and stops us.

The most rational behavior is not to seek the path of least risk, it is to seek the path of greatest reward. The path of least risk is a reward in itself and thusly, they are synonymous. We then see that fear is not the most rational path, direct our anger towards it, and realize we need it for nothing. THAT is proper fear management. If you disagree I will listen and reply.

Lifetime supply of mandatory minimum wage jobs

I'm not saying fear is the end all be all of decision making. I'm saying it's a barometer for risk. It's a tool. Fear should be considered when making decisions, but it should never be a primary motivator.

Fear makes you avoid making critical decisions. All of those things could be accomplished properly with (you were close) proper assessment and preparation, given the desire. NOW do you understand?? He asked eagerly

What you are saying that fear DOES exist, but that you hate it and wish it didn't because you see no value in it. This displays an incomplete understanding of the nature of fear.

$9.11

See

Having nothing left to lose.

People only fear what they cannot know or do. That is nothing. Fear is a reaction to something that does not exist.

Fear CAN lead to inaction. It's stupid, but it happens because fear feeds on ignorance. It is meant to be a placeholder survival response to keep people that don't fully understand how to manage the risks of a course of action from harming themselves with possibly life threatening stupidity. Sometimes it IS better for a person to do nothing than to try and do something without a more complete understanding of the consequences of their actions.

Fear is ALWAYS inaction. The proper thing to do when faced with a situation that you cannot figure is to ESCAPE. The only reason you exist is because most people do not understand fear truly, the same way you didn't at the beginning of this convo.

...

Hah. Fear prevents IMMEDIATE action. It is a pause button that can allow you to consider variables you had not previously considered. Fear is satisfied by information. Understanding eliminates fear like food eliminates hunger. So fear, be hungry, then eat, learn, and stop being afraid. Fear indicates an unknown. It highlights a gap in understanding. You are saying fear has no purpose? Why does it exist?

Freedom costs nothing but stops you from enslaving others against their will which kinda sucks

Oh, and you are thinking of panic, not fear. Panic is absolutely useless. Panic is fear in the driver's seat.

Fear IS the pause. The rest of your definition actually applies only to anger. Anger is a tool, and a useful one. It solves all problems, when unhindered by fear. That is the definition of righteous anger. A fearful person can only be a tool to others, but not to himself.

See
Panic=fear. It's a synonym.

Fear is the pause, the consideration, the anticipation, the focus on input, frenzied processing of imformation. Fear seeks to turn the unknown into the known, anger can help with that, but fear will not end until it is given understanding.

You will never understand if you fear understanding however. That is where most people of Earth falter, currently.

freedom is compulsory, there is no price to it because you can't get rid of it, it's innate to you

If you fear, your are free only do do nothing.

but still, fear is a choice, the choice of letting the fear act

People don't know shat fear is FOR. They don't know how to face it, how to harness it, how to limit it. It's like having 7 billion people running around with lighters and absolutely no concept of fire safety. They could all be warm eating a hot meal, instead they are burning.

14 shekels

fear is just for the shake of preparation, it doesn't make you not do anything, but instead, do it with caution. That has nothing to do with choice, there's still freedom in there (and plenty)

Fear disappears once you introduce your anger to it. Quite easily done, as fear is the most infuriating and annoying thing that there is. Realize your own dislike of fear, and it disappears, along with sadness. You are left with only useful anger and joy. Humans have 4 emotions. Fear, sadness, anger and joy. Fear and sadness do not exist if you dislike them. You are then a binary being, with only like and dislike as emotions.

The sake of preparation is pretty vague. Mind clarifying? (Hint: you cannot clarify or express that which does not exist)

Eternal Vigilance

Exactly friend. Fear prevents vigilance, which makes it unpreferrable.

in fact there are more emotions. But in a situation where you are afraid, there's only 3 responses psychologically speaking:

Either you fight, and then you use everything you've got
Either you flee, because you believe the situation is too much to handle
Or you stay, but surrender, hoping for the best and being as pasive and submissive as possible

Any of this answer will be given by the amygdala in your brain

fear is just a physiological reaction to get your body active and alert, it's not there to paralize you and stop you from doing action, but instead, to take a different aproach and to it with caution

It isn't the "i'm done, there's nothing I can do" reaction, it's more like "hey watch out, there might be consequences"

The first 2 are the tools of anger. The fight, or the flight to fight later. In what situation I'd the 3rd preferable? Only when you prefer fear, blind to it's true properties, or nature, as previously put. All emotions you refer to are synonymous with the ones I listed, or a combination thereof. Name an exclusion please.

Riona Aika

No, that is more definitive of anger. Fear is the wish or desire to do nothing, which is preferable in exactly 0 situations. Why would you ever wish to sit around doing nothing? Fear is the very cause of boredom, the greatest annoyance in history.

>Death
this is the correct answer.

That's a hefty fuckin fee

there isn't a "preferable option", depending on how people fave fear, they will react in one of those three answers.

About emotions, there isn't a clear agreement about "basic emotions", as this is still being studied and researched. I can give you several distinctions and their fundaments:

The most accepted overall by psychology are the 6 basic emotions and the secondary ones - Love, Joy, Surprise, Anger, Sadness and Fear

Love creates afection, lust and longing
Joy creates cheerfulnest, zest, contentment, pride, optimism, enthrallment and relief
Surprise creates surprise
Anger creates irritation, exasperation, rage, disgust, envy and torment
Sadness creates sadness, suffering, disappointment, shame, neglect and sympathy
Fear cretes horror and nervousness

And again, those secondary emotins create a third set

Lust creates arousal, desire, lust, passion, infatuation
Optimism creates eagerness, hope and optimism

And so...

But still, research from 2014 might reveal that there might actually be 4 basic emotions, linking fear and surprise, and and anger and disgust

as long as money exists, no one is free.

you are describing depression instead of fear

It's not free I can tell you that.

Synonyms everywhere. They all fall into my categories, love=joy or happiness, lust=fear or joy, surprise=fear+joy or anger, even sadness.

...

Fear OF joy. Excuse my boredom, but I have this convo a lot.

Fear causes sadness which is synonymous with depression. Pay attention or don't talk.

there is a deep distinction between sadness and depression, and they have nothing to do with fear

but yet, no one here will listen, I've already described how fear originates and which emotions are basic and how

The price of freedom is eternal vigilance

Try sadness+fear for a definition of depression. It seems cyclical because one causes the other, and that other makes you too weary to search for an answer to the former, causing the aforementioned fear of understanding, usually with the justification that more sadness or fear possibly comes from the understanding. Well now we understand, it's too late. I assure you the opposite is true.

You've presented naught but your own vague guess to try to scare me with imagined knowledge. Despite that, plainly and as previously stated, I am still listening.

Infatuation=lust etc. Fill in the rest, don't be scared!

The price of FREEDOM is the EGO.

You mean existing as a you. Whatever that is. That + knowing what fear is.

This thread is now about the theories of the world's preeminent undoctorized physiologist and neurochemist. Me.

Just in case this is the final post, if that's the case it's now about how you're all afraid of people who claim titles.

Lag dee daaaah, I'm all alone, but idgaf cuz no scared people is better than lots of scared people. In fact, that's the only way they can be problematic. Otherwise you can just ignore them. Or kill them, depending on the circumstances.
