If it was mission critical to make sure the reader knew 2 or more different traits about something then yeah list adjectives. In this case it just seems like op was trying to lay it on thick and he executed it in a fairly crude manner. Not to mention the op was clearly trying to illustrate the juxtaposition of the girl to the surroundings. If it read "Gentle creature in a harsh world" or "Warm, gentle creature in a cold, harsh world" would you not agree it would enforce this idea a bit more effectively?
