im thinking about joining the army, mostly cause im 24 and nothing is really going my way. why are you joining?

I joined the California, Army National Guard. I wanted to do something part time and make myself more marketable as a civilian in the outside wold.

best thing about it is when i get back i only have to work a day and a half out of every month, but i may choose to work more if i want.

in short, I just need to get my shit in order, and the army will do just that. I'll give me time to figure out what i want to do.

turn off your thinker and do exactly as you're told. the military is not a game to be figured out, it is a machine to be assimilated into. You're either a cog or a wrench. You can't even fix your life so youll learn how to give yourself to the machine until you've figured out where you fit into the bigger picture, then you can be a wrench. Sounds harsh, but its serious. Learn to not be you and instead learn how to be part of the team.
