>be me about a year ago
>22 and driving 7 hours to interview in Manhatten College
>first time driving in the city, no clue where I'm fucking going
>pull over on some side street and call office to ask for directions
>objective complete: obtained directions
>begin driving again; hands are big enough to hold phone and steering wheel.
>cop pulls behind me but I don't see him or his lights because he's unmarked and I'm so focused on finding streets and landmarks
>pull into MU, gate guard is confused as fuck
>points me in some loop
>"uhhh okay?" And I comply.
>cop suddenly knocks on my window and scares the shit out of me
>license and registration

>you were driving and using your phone.

>cop takes my shit, comes back with ticket for operating cell phone and vehicle at same time.

It depends on the officer and on the state you live in. In my state I have the option either:
1)Issued you two misdemeanor citations for speeding and careless and reckless driving with wanton disregard for the motoring public.
2)Arrest you for both citations as they are both misdemeanors
3) Take you before a magistrate to have your license, essentially, immediately revoked.

A lot of officer discrimination comes into it. I, personally, would never take a 16 year old's license unless he was doing 30+ over the speed limit. I was a young idiot once, but there is a line.

I knew at the time I wasn't getting a fucking warning but thought I was gonna lose me license thankfully he wasn't an ass I bet every 16yr old has done some stupid shit driving (if you didn't you didn't have a fun teen years)

>5 friends and me are all tripping together one night
>at 4 am we decide to go to jiffy mart
>someone pukes in my car on the way
>on the way back I cut a cop off and almost cause an accident so he lights me up
>he comes up to the car and notices that I have too many people for the amount of seat belts in my car
>he asks about drugs and stuff
>only two people had weed and that was it so I wasn't too worried
>he pulls one of my friends out
>then he comments on how gross my car smells (because of the throw up on the floor)
>my friends all tell him I'm a filthy motherfucker and that's why my car smells so bad
>he buys it and gives me a $110 ticket and says we can go but I have to leave my friend with him and come back for him
>I drop my friends off and go back and get my friend I left behind
>he gets in my car and after we pull away he pulled a gram of weed out of his mouth
>he talked to a cop on the side of the road, tripping, with a gram of weed in his mouth for about 15 minutes
>everything turned out alright

talking to a cop while his face is squirming and moving around is pretty uncomfortable to say the least

Fuck cops that actually give out jaywalking tickets.
Unless you do it on a main road. Then you're a fucking idiot. But if it's some snotty backroad without painted lines marking lanes then there really isn't a point

>got off work and headed to grandma's house to meet up with family for the holidays
>2 hour drive after 12 hour shift, want to get there
>middle of bumfuck nowhere, Ohio
>tractor in front of me, with another tractor about 50 yards ahead of it
>vehicle at the time was my old truck with an 8.1L V8
>pass these mofos with minor press of gas pedal
>as soon as I pass the second tractor, cop comes around turn in the distance
>slam on brakes
>he turns on lights and motions me to pull over while he turns around
>"where's the fire son"
>"do you know how was you were going?"
>55mph zone
>tell him couldn't have been more than 65
>he tells me to get out of my vehicle
>"do you have any weapons on you?"
>he takes my pocket knife and throws it on my driver seat
>we go to his car
>he shows me radar indicating 81mph
>writes me a ticket
>again, bumfuck nowhere
>pay the court the whopping $126 fee
>no record, no points, no insurance increase
>all traces gone
