I actually did come to Cred Forums once and left. I didn't realize pressing "reply" opened the thread, I only saw the OP and the last 3 posts and thought that was that. Only months later I returned after a friend mentioning it once. I then had the ability to completely ignore the gore threads, and see the more "quality" threads. The memes back then were fresh. I remember loving the "O RLY" bird and even Cool Face. They were fresh, not yet tainted by normies. 9gag wasn't around yet to drive rage comics into the ground. I think even 3 angled blue might have still been around before disappearing. Back then, people knew the meaning of "lurk moar". Back then, the last 3 digits of a post were hidden, and you had to type "noko" to go back to your post.
I heard back then that browsing Cred Forums was like looking for diamonds in a pile of shit, and I knew what it meant.
