No. I think the "it's not a choice" argument comes from a lack of self-respect. Our culture has been very critical or outright discriminatory towards homosexuals until recently. Saying it isn't your choice makes it not your fault and makes you a victim, but it legitimizes the "wrongness" of it. It weakens the gay mans' position. He should own his choice to be gay. He should be allowed to be as gay as he wants and not act like he is physically obligated to do so.
