improvements?

well an SSD? Samsung evo is a beast

you might need more power.. not sure if 500 is enough

this also, Cooler Master V series are pretty good and cheap + gold

trying to save money and im not a fan of SSD.

WHAT SHORT OF ps should i get? how does one know this stuff?

my spex

Mum's computer
laptop
dated

heavily infected by user friendly garbage

small picture of my sister's kid next to the trackpad which I cover with a post-it note so I can wank in peace

screen filthy cause I smoke and eat greasy shit and roll spliffs over keyboard

no cool parts

I need some fucking money man

1060GTX? What a cuck, get the RX 480.

is that better? how are you all so knowing?

don't get the 480 meme, you'll fucking hang yourself.

Avoid anything AMD, been there done that; tust me.

Change the CPU from i7 to a Xeon. Lower costs and the same power.

i5-6600 instead of i7

gtx 1070 instead of 1060

cheaper mobo

whats the computer for, what will you be doing most on it?

sort of related
does anyone know a reasonable monitor to buy? I'm not sure exactly what qualifications would be 'good enough', and i feel like half the shit i see is crazy overpriced.

It's a non over clocked i7 and a 1060, he's fine. A bump to 650 won't hurt or cost much, but you're fine.

OP get rid of BD drive, ain't anybody need that now

Good suggestions, don't need the 170 board if not over clocking. I think games will start using hyperthreaded CPUs soon though.

I remember hearing that 5 years ago

I just picked up a BenQ RL2455HM. Fast, good amount of inputs for more than just PC, built in speakers. Decent price, although I got mine on craigslist for $80 :)

EVGA 500w's are trash, mine went out in 3 months. I would get a corsair 850w. You dont want to be jewish on your psu. I am not sure if i would go with that cpu cooler, but it is highly reviewed and a lot of people like it so cant hurt to try it out for how cheap it is.

bare minimums:
1080p at 60hz
IPS panel
5ms or less response
23/24"

better:
1080p at 60hz or 1440p at 60hz
IPS panel
5ms or less response
99% color accuracy
23/24"

better:
1440p at 120-144hz
IPS panel
1ms response
99% color
23/24"

EVO 212's are very good air coolers for their price

If you're getting a Z170 motherboard you may as well put in few more bucks and grab the 6700K otherwise just get an H series motherboard with a non-K processor.

>not a fan of SSDs
what are you, retarded?
SSDs are the most simple, cheap and powerful improvement to every setup.

IPS panels are only necessary for curved or multimonitor setups when some of the screens will be on an angle.

Yeah ive heard great things about them. I went with a corsair 80i because i have an amd build. Only issue i have is it being noisey but i mean its not that noisey. Im just whiney lol

Look at the BenQ GL2460, it's cheap and reasonable.

SSD's are relatively cheap, you dont even need a lotta space. just run your os, common games with loading times, and gg. Theyre amazing for their price.

I guess that this will be a gaming rig?

Dont waste money on a wd black hdd, get wd blue and with saved money get a 120gb ssd

If u will overclock, consider getting the 6600k and oc that a little. With the saved money get a gtx 1070.

Also, for a few bucks more, u should try to hunt faster rams. I bet u can get 2*8gb of ddr4 3000 for 70-75?

Also, get a gold certified psu.

they are also impossible to wipe data from securely if that's something op is worried about

barring smashing them to bits and microwaving them

>trying to save money
>got an aftermarket cooler for a non-K cpu
>16gb
>2tb, black

dude,

>stock cooler is fine
>stick with 8gb for now
>get a 1tb blue instead
>get a cheaper $30 thermaltake case
>get a 120gb ssd with the balance

500w is more than enough for even an i7 6700k @ 4.5ghz and that gtx1060

EVGA is fine, but get a Seasonic or a SuperFlower, the leading PSU maker

Hell this is as good a thread as any to ask

I live in a balls out hot country, and i need a decent laptop cooler. Anyone got a recommendation?

I've never had a bad amd product. Been using them 12 years now, and my original card still works

Get an SSD with your HDD, its worth every cent.

yoo! thanks a lot, sincerely.

if it's old,
find a good local pc/tech store and pay $10-15 to get the internals, fans and heatsinks cleaned and new thermal grease/pads applied, copper shim is a bonus

get any decent looking cooling pad that works like docking pad

and get that mini exhaust / vacuum fan you stick on the side of your laptop

dual cooling combo solution

Thanks friend, also, in my country, the computer repair men are retarded as all hell, and there is no recourse if they fuck it up. I know from experience

don't get anything fancy, a $10 generic chinese crap will work just fine

but if you have the money then by all means get those gayming gear shit

NEVER tust a man who can't spell trust

get a job you neet
