This is usually a common practise with us Russian guys, since post grad and the longer student life is expensive and jobs are a bitch depending on your career path.

After living in Boston for many years, I joined the military as well because I realized my passion for the army no matter where I lived (even though my allegiance will always be with Russia where I was born).

Let me tell you first hand and from EVERY guy in my situation that American army training is a fucking JOKE compared to Russia's.

One on one, Russian soldiers are not only physically tougher, but their mental toughness is a whole other level because of the shit and utter hell we had survive through.

In the army all the American and hispanic guys kept asking me about my background in Sambo and Systema hand to hand combat, how I excelled at all physical training. Not to mention, NOTHING seemed too hard or daunting mentally.

Politics, technology, money aside. Russian soldiers when face to face with Americans, will always be tougher, stronger and more adept killing machines.
