I've been doing research on /x/ and Cred Forums as wel and so far its been inconclusive. i had no expectations for Cred Forums being able to pull something that grand off anymore but you never know when it will create another entity like lulzsec and anonymous. I currently hear mixed reports of violence, trolling, and movie marketing so there's no real way to tell. my best guess is that it is some of all of them. Most likely individual groups of people attempting to get a good laugh/thrill.
