Payet's not even on the list so clearly this is either outdated or just plain false.

He has scored 5 for West Ham. Don't know how much he's taken though.

b) Payet scored five for club and one (?) for France, Pjanic one more in that time AND he's been a FK specialist for some time. Payet as attacking mid has three good seasons left at most, Pjanic is being groomed for Pirlo regista role with next to no physical requirements, so he can score plenty FKs for 10 more years unless he suddenly turns to shit or loses a leg. Who do you think will end up with better stats, when Pjanic already leads? Or Calhanoglu, who is even younger.

The question was not ''who will end up with better stats'' but who is the current best. If I had to chose between Payet and Pjanic at this current day to take my freekicks, I'd take Payet.

Well, current stats are in Pjanic's favour as well. Personal choice or perceived level of technique is subjective, but the numbers are facts. No one says that Payet can't score 10 FK for West Ham in 16/17 and become the better taker for the year, lets see.

We don't have Payet's % of conversion but I'm pretty sure it's better then 7/37.

He had, two to be exact. Minimal requirement to get on the chart was 3 converted FKs, so he would surely be included with good % at the moment, but no at top.

You have to take the number of attempted free kicks and the difficulty of converting them into account, as well as other data, otherwise Willian would have been called the best 2015-2016 PL free kicker even though everyone knows he just got lucky.
Payet isn't praised because he scored 6 or 7 free kicks, he is praised because his free kick accuracy is always very high. When he doesn't score, he often hits the bar or gets his shot barely blocked by an awesome save like that one

He must have scored a few with Marselle but I was talking about his free kicks with West Ham. He only became the way he is at free-kicks in 2016, that's why you can't take his 2015 stats into account if you want to judge his current level.

Payet doesn't get many free kicks attempts because, well, his teammates aren't that good at offense. Actually, he wins half of them on his own like the one from yesterday.

I'm not saying Payet is better than Pjanic, maybe Pjanic is actually better. I'm just saying you can't judge Payet's quality merely basing on his stats.

Can't argue with this, I'd take Payet as my second choice FK taker comfortably ahead of Calhanoglu, who got a bit worse at it as far as I know. It's really impressive he developed such technique at rather advanced age, so for next two or three seasons he can be undisputed FK king.
