What went wrong?

What went wrong?

>AP overrates Notre Dame in the preseason again
>Texas beats Notre Dame
>AP overrates Texas because the media desperately wants them to be good again
>ND and Texas continue to lose to multiple other schools

Mack Brown left.

ND was overrated as usual.

Texas was never actually back.

Nothing, The Rock is doing fine.

Nothing went wrong. Texass is back!

>Let the old guy hang on too long past his prime
>replace him with a diversity hire

cheaped out on hiring a nigger instead of backing up the Brinks truck to Nick Saban's house

now oil prices are too low and the boosters don't have the money to do that, so you're stuck with Strong

>Charlie Strong does not know how to stop spread offenses.
>He was to loyal (lazy) to branch out and hire a new offense coordinator when he was hired and stayed with a below average Shawn Watson untill this year. Same for the Defensive side with Vance Bedford.
>Charlie Strong is a terrible game manager and does not know clock management (see misuse of timeouts and the lack of adjustment on the 3 blocked extra points against Ok State

>He has players like Malik Jefferson who could be a top 5 defensive player in the country but out of position playing MLB instead of OLB (Malik is also whiffing at tackles too)

Charlie is in over his head. He's a good recruiter and motivator but he doesn't understand how to coach a football team

Mack Brown saying he lost the fire to coach after the 2009 NC loss.

Didn't stop him from stealing money from UT for the next few years though.

nothing

it doesn't matter what went wrong
If you smell what I'm cooking

>dat comfy Miss Rev

>Charlie Strong is slowly but surely making the team better, but the defense is still total dogshit.
>We're still losing quality recruits to Baylor and Houston.
Overall, we're way better off than we were three years ago.

Losing a lot of recruits to other schools. Not utilizing the recruits you have because your coaching is just ok.

There's really no reason for kids to go to Texas when they can go to literally any shitty SEC or B12 school and show off all the same.

Overall, the football program, athletic department, and university as a whole has a massive sense of entitlement.

They think they're on the level of Notre Dame or Alabama. This arrogance is not justified by the historical record, which places Texas football roughly on par with successful but second-tier programs like Tennessee or LSU.

HUBRIS
Broke up the Big 12, Texas A&M left for the SEC,

they get btfo by superior california teams

nobody wants to play for UT anymore so it'll be awhile before they have a good recruiting class

Jebus didn't post bussy

The defense.

Our true freshman qb looks great and doesn't even have to touch the ball in the red zone bc of the 18 wheeler. Our run game is monstrous with Foreman and Warren III. Offensive line is giving Boosh plenty of time and he will only get better over the next few years.

The defense is easily one of the worst the longhorns have had in decades. The secondary is non-existant, and NOBODY can tackle. Idk what chuck strong is having these kids do in practice, but shit they look like a 2A high school squad.

Unfortunately it looks like Stong is getting the boot with one more loss this year (we'll easily lose 2 or 3 more). What a fucking waste of him building a 3 year recruiting foundation

aTm went to the SEC, so now the SEC is stealing all the talent that Texas would've had on lock.

Sumlin is a fucking gangster though he's the collegiate Mike Tomlin

came here to post that

YES SIR

It's as simple as this.

Every SEC school could beat any non-SEC school. It's just a fact of life.
