To all the gamblers on here: what was your biggest loss?

...

dignity

yeah, apart from that. Mine is 3k. Damn if I'd want them back! :/

...

it's a serious question though.

I lost $3k in the office Super Bowl pool when the Seahawks beat the Broncos

if you want the best answers, go find the /bet/ thread in the catalog

did you manage to get them back?

I lost thank to Cristiano Fuckaldo.

I've been correct in the two Super Bowls since

$3k isn't a lot tho so I wasn't too upset

Had $3000 of your own money at risk, or just didn't win the $3000?

Because if your office does a pool where people throw in $3000, then holy fuck.

Like 300 some yesterday. But I recovered on a clutch parlay and some bets on the Steelers.

Of my own money

I was working at a trading desk at the time

I bet $100,000 that the Patriots were going to win Super Bowl XLII and go 19-0.

We got 18-1 instead. Life is cruel.

every year i put $15 on the dodgers to win the world series

I lost the money my father gave to pay the semester for the university (around 4k). Later he found out and refused to pay for the rest of the degree, so I kinda lost 24k.

>parents pay for tuition
>gamble it away

Literally kill yourself. You are the reason society is collapsing.

Get cancer

about 400€, Dortmund - Bayern CL final

Dortmund were playing so well...

hey man this is the year

Lost 5k betting on the Patriots win in 2012.

When I first started betting, I made a rule with myself that I wouldn't bet more than what I would normally earn over the course of the game. I've broken that rule a few times (making $1,500 bets), but on extremely favorable odds just to fulfill rollover requirements. On a single bet $100 is the max I've lost.

But... now I'm paying it myself isn't that a fair punishment?

honestly you should pay your dad back also

2,000 on a game of pinochle

He hasn't spoken to me ever since

2k on the 2010 Stanley Cup

yeah you should pay him back and apologize if you have any desire to reconcile or do the right thing
paying for school yourself doesn't right the original wrong

lost 1000 to a bro

didnt have cash at the time (2years ago) atleast thats what he thinks lol, so i let em fuck my gf to get out of debt

Bet $200 on the Panthers to win at the start of the NFL playoffs last year. I was so confident that I put another $500 on them after the NFC/AFC championship games.

Fuck $cam Lootin. He fooled me into thinking he wasn't trash.

Honestly I think he should apologize to me first I mean yeah what i did was horrible but he should at least had had the decency to hear my apologies and what i had to say about it.

$1000 on a random NBA game I didnt even watch
It was Clippers vs Trail Blazers in december

>he should apologize to me first
>my father should apologize to me because I took the money he gave me for my education and flushed it down the toilet

Yeah, just kill yourself. Worthless fucking trash like you doesnt deserve to breathe

Was probably on QPR
Fuck QPR.

You're a piece of shit.

Guess it makes sense that you're colored like one.

Well I tried to apologize and he basically told me to fuck off and so I did. This is why I still think he owns me an apology and he sholud give it to me if he ever wants to see his son again.

$600

I'm $5k up overall so i dont mind

isnt online sports betting illegal in America except for memes like Vegas?

>land of the ""free""

I had to suck my wife's boyfriend penis

Atletico vs Real, the first one.

My friend Euan gambles quite often and seems to win a lot. Anyway the other day he told me he had some contact in Turkey that had told him about a fix game.

I bet a lot of money on it because he is a good friend and knows about this sort of stuff.

The bet didnt win and I am down a lot of money, told him I only put £50 on but really it's a lot more.

how much, mate?

About £2000. I suppose thats not a lot for some but its basically all my money for the next few months (student loan), still dont know what I will do.

I lost 20k after my father "invested in my start up" on blackjack, don't feel bad m8

>£2000
That's almost as much as I've lost so far. I'll be out of betting by the end of the month, though.

everyone ITT needs to have sex then come to /bet/ and learn to be UAC (up and comfy)

>implying i'm not UAC

I do need to have sex though but so do all of you.

and you've never managed to get some of them back again?

NEED THIS DRIVE TO END AS A FIELD GOAL REALLY REALLY BAD

not sure if poker counts but i lost about $10k in one hand once

Fucking Giants

Gambling? I got about 13k back, but my start up has a net profit of 180k yearly now so only gamble with a few ks now. I feel bad every time I go there cause I start doing reckless amateur shit sometimes and let it get to me. It stopped being fun when almost every time I went I lost 3k+

Internet gambling is impossible to enforce

But you have a good profit from your startup, though.

Yes, and that's all that matters desu, I have come to realize that casinos are rich ppls playgrounds

$100 on canelo/mayweather

how long ago was this? he is probably chilled already

I'm up around 5k dollars but i neglected some other things in life due to gambling that i'd gladly give 5k to fix.

my biggest loss was probably the under on maidana vs morales.

What do you guys know about fixed matches. They really exists?

Have sex.

Just about everyone gambles still, it's just through your workplace or whatever. Hell my brother is a cop and they have a gambling pool at his station

back when i was in the UK i lost 2,000 quid on bet365 betting that op was not a phaggot

I traded in gambling on sports for trading financial instruments, where the losses are bigger, faster, and hit you harder.
Overleveraged and lost $20k in about an hour on tendie based yen before I cut that trade loose.

1.5 years

So your biggest loss isn't the 4k or 24k, it is your father.

>betting that op was not a phaggot
You brought it on yourself

The second one for me desu

Biggest money wager was Broncos over Seahawks 2 years ago

Oddly enough those don't stick with me the way bad beats do

The most sickening feeling I had ever got after a was the Panthers Giants game last year. Panthers were favored by 4, was up 35-7 in the 3rd quarter, and somehow get the game tied 35-35. Of course they won by exactly 3

It wasn't even really just the bet itself. It was the sinking feeling that nothing was ever safe and that betting on the NFL would never be profitable again

Don't remember the exact amount but I lost around $250 on game 5 of the Bulls/Bucks playoff series in 2015.

just gamble whatever you have left and win it back!

if you lost last time then there is double the chance of winning next time.

lost nearly 40k in a year

I bet 100 bucks the Browns will upset the patriots so we'll see.
