EFL Trophy: Group stage match 2

Empty stadiums, Bonus points and B teams. What's not to love?

As you know there's a group stage format this year, making these games even more pointless than in years previous.

...

>tfw footballs on but its shite

The EFL won't call the academy sides "B teams" or "Development squads", it's like they're trying to pretend they're the actual first teams of big clubs.

I'm pretty sure the rule is that they can field whoever they want, but 6 of the starting 11 have to be u21. So you get a 28 year old Frenchman banging in a hat-trick for Norwich.

The irony of this is that the League 1 and 2 teams have to play a certain number of "first team players". So whilst the B teams can send the kids, the actual teams can't field too many young players or they get fined, IIRC somebody did last round.

Literally about 200 people at Bolton

The "North" group

Everything North of Watford is the North la

It is a lot less densely populated up north.

It's like Gloucester City playing in the Conference North despite being a bus fare from Bristol.

Everything south of Darlington is actually the south

>Reminder Cheltenham Town are in the North Group but Coventry City aren't

>chelsea's match being pushed back two weeks because of the international break
>again

Is anyone else not going to their home game?

>Stoke just managed to get a player sent off

lel

> Grimsby getting a man sent off for handling the ball

Fucking lol, that's a bit GRIM amirte?

Are Hull even playing in this?

hull's academy is utter shit

It was the keeper who got sent off and they've put their centre half in goal instead of making a sub.
what the fuck is going on?

So is West Ham's and Stokes on the basis of tonight

Nah, our academy isn't good enough yet. They only invited the Category 1 ones, first from the PL only and then some of the Championship ones when teams like Man Utd didn't want any part in it.

>Stoke trying to break our team

typical

memes

Hey now, it's gone up from a Cat 3 to a Cat 2.

The Allams even turfed the community and disability sports out of the arena near the KC to put 3G in. Which sounds semi-reasonable except the academy is 20 miles away, it was just part of his little tantrum. Fucking cunts.

The trophy will only mean something if it's a Wimbledon vs MK Dons final.

>Doncaster making a double sub after 30 minutes
Time to take off those senior players

Not even a local derby can save this trophy

>Norwich B vs Stoke B final
>less people turn up than the FA Vase

This guy is like an even shitter Greg Dyke that actually got his own way.

There's a reasonable chance that South Shields in tier 9 could have a larger attendance tonight

I saw that, was about 9000 for the last A420 derby. No idea how they dare put a positive spin on this.
