I'm basically convinced the last episode isn't going to make this entire season worth it. Season 1 was so fucking interesting and had actually decent pacing. It wasn't constant excitement but it was building towards something and things happened. This season has just been an absolute failure, especially since Elliot has basically become a side character while the show focuses on an FBI agent that no one cares about and Angela who keeps on going back and forth on what her motivations are and what she's actually trying to do; it doesn't help that their actresses' are the worst actors in the show. The episode where they planted the femtocell was as good as anything from season 1, so it shows Email can still do shit, so why the fuck is he wasting everyone's time with this retarded writing and pacing?

Because it has no goddamn self-awareness or humanity. Mad Men and The Sopranos had some levity and authentic, normal character interaction that allowed their "deep" moments to actually land and feel genuine.

This show's biggest problem isn't "nothing happens" but rather that "nothing matters." None of the characters are actually characters, they're all just metaphors or avatars for some statement being made which isn't all that profound, made worse by the fact that it's dead-serious and "psychological" nature tricks people into believing otherwise.

Perfect statement on the show. I watched Comet and Esmail's delivery of plot ambiguity is very tacky. His characters are too into themselves and are genuinely unlikable they have so much angst in them. I continue to enjoy his use of cinematography and costume design to display said metaphors. I enjoyed Angela's storyline this season but the distribution of mystery Solutions has been very badly written.
