It seems like the big thing in America is procedural crime dramas. Soaps are sort of thought of as the lowest of the low that nobody but old ladies watches, despite a lot of American dramas getting pretty soapy.

In Brazil the biggest network has 3 soap operas that it airs everyday.

always broadcasting as in no off season. Airs 3-4 times a week. Omnibus on the weekend for when your Mum wants something on during the ironing

Hollyoaks was legit good tv about 15 years ago with the Warren/Justin/Claire storyline. I've only seen about 20 minutes of it since then and it seems to be diversity the tv show. Nothing but blacks, trannys and gays.

Literally only grandmas watch them now, like OLD grandmas. It's basically as dead as the western.

The stories aren't as utterly ridiculous anymore but the cinematography sucks
