NORTH KOREA BEST KOREA!

I hang out with a lot of gooks and I gotta say, they're bretty cool. They love video games. StarCraft was prostar leauge gaming because of Korea.

They have better actors, hotter and more talented actresses and great directors.

Japs used to be king like 50+ years ago, but yeah nowadays suko's make great ones.

former (and current) western occupied, so culture is heavily influenced by the west. they got fucked so hard they started circumcising their kids because american doctors told them to.

That's just ignorant. Once you've watched the ~30 good Korean movies, you've seen them all. There are hundreds of Japanese movies that are just as good or better.
See this for example.

All you guys like are edge lord movies. "oh no I fucked my daughter."

>Once you've watched the ~30 good Korean movies, you've seen them all
what a fucking retarded statement

OP OP OP GANGNAM STYLE

no their directors are still alive

wow I can't even think of 30 good movies. Awesome can't wait to try them out.

He will just post that list that is filled with violent films. Apparently the only thing needed to make a good films is blood.

Because its basically Hollywood 2. It gives plebs like you the ability to say they've seen foreign films and allows them to keep the same type of enjoyment they get from blockbusters.

Because Korean media is the least subject to censorship in Asia.

Japan makes some crazy sick porn, but TV channels can't even show a political drama loosely based on recent events without backlash from the political establishment.

In every asian movie why are the males so clumsy and just falling all over the place like they are shitfaced

What happened to japan? They we're the kings of kino until the 80's

what movie is your pic? seems familiar

>love video games
>cool

wew lad

>only pays attention to the films in the crime/gangster/thriller section
>wonders why there's violence
holy fuck how dumb are you?

TV and home video thoroughly fucked up their film industry.

Loser

The Wailing

you could say that about anything. so many of the films in that list are about family drama or samurai honor

hong sang soos filmography

SK crafted the very concept of e-sport.

If you ask Koreans they say it is because there is a deep emotion beyond anger and sadness that comes from having their national identity ripped in two and a DMZ slapped between the halves.

The Wailing. And it sucked.

First half is a slapstick comedy. They try to make it into a proper horror about halfway through, only to lose the dramatic narrative by going back to comedy and remaking the "there's a girl in the garden" scene from Shawn of the Dead. There's some really tame gore. No actual scares. One decent suspense scene, and a non-ending.

le chang dong

CLASSIC stuff

> Why is south korea so much better in making movies than any other asian country

They have money.

Happy Life
Sunny

nice you saved me roughly 2 hours, watched around 10-15 minutes and it seemed shitty.

Please rec me some more unknown asian kino

no.

to do great without a big budget and using technology to portray a great story is why they got big.

a strong cultural influence worldwide helped as well (big market in china and critical acclaim in the west)

Family drama and samurai honor make for great film though.
