Who here's seen an original 70mm film in theaters? Pic related in playing near here on Friday and I got a tickets to see it.

Meee!

Going to see it in a few weeks senpai.

Ah yes, 70mm film through a projector, truly amazing, very similar to lossless audio over XRL with proper power conditioning.

Does the Hateful 8 count?

which city?

I've seen a few in 70mm, Apocalypse Now, Lawrence of Arabia, 2001.

Great format, Lawrence of Arabia is probably the best 70mm movie I can recall seeing.

i dont get it?? is it the directors cut or something? what movie??

>what movie??
how old are you? you don't recognize 2001 at all?

sure

dude I was like 5 in 2001

...

Yeah I saw 2001 on 70mm shit was so cash

>70mm

How the fuck do you even see what's going on?

...

I saw Playtime and Dersu Uzala projected from 70mm this year, certainly a visible difference compared to 35mm.

Saw The Thing on orig 70mm, shit was so cash.

Does anyone wanna spoonfeed as to what the difference is?

I mean i know it's better, but what's making it look better.

i dont think that was filmed in 70mm, might have been a blowup print maybe

Nah homie, was one of the 2 (?) reels in existence that did a tour. I saw it at a film fest a few years back. Shit was most definitely cash

70mm has about 4 times the definition of a regular 35mm print, so the image is usually crisper and more detailed when projected.

i am fucking jealous, nice.

Just googled it, it was a blowup so actually I've never seen a 70mm film. Better go end it all due to shame. Thanms

bah, seeing The Thing on a big screen is awesome anyway

does it count if I downloaded it?
