Steven Universe

Steven Universe

Best gem

only 14-16 year olds watch this show.
children don't watch cartoon network anymore.
they to watch peppa pig, seasame street, calilou, dora the explorer, max and ruby and other various educational cartoon shows because parents are obsessed with the idea of raising a special little genius that they can brag about carrying to violin practice, advanced mathematics tutors and baseball, football and tennis practice.

Steven Universe

When I was a kid I watched Dragon Ball, Pokemon and whatever was in Cartoon Network. I think I came up relatively fine.

I don't see the appeal, tbqh famm.

I saw Steven Universe posted twice and this is Cred Forums so that constitutes an ebin new maymay.

But no, I actually do enjoy Steven Universe, specifically the episodes where Pearl suffers.

>have 4 year old son
>we watch old school Transformers, Dragon Ball Z, and Power Rangers together

I feel bad for other kids

I feel bad for your son

Clarence

It's the only kids show I know that referenced 2001 and the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Top tier dad

Honest to god, I was probably the worst Steven Universe shitposter you could ever meet. I would shit on it relentlessly calling it baby shit, tublr garbage, etc. In person too, I knew a few people who watched it and I even called them out on it.

About 2 weeks ago one of them forced me to watch the first 3 episodes. I was so ready to shit all over it and just be terrible in general.

I then proceeded to binge the entire show in a week. I hate to admit it but its fantastic. If I could compare it to anything I would say its like a western Dragonball meets harem anime, with maybe a slight childish twist. Despite the childish twist though, its surprisingly mature. Quite a few references to adult material (pic related is from an actual episode) and some scenes that I was shocked with how gloomy and depressing in tone they got.

I'm waiting on that pic.

Anything but your pic

my bad

"""Mature""" in that the characters are competently written written most of the time. Not mature in "lol, a dude just fucking died and blood is everywhere" kind of way.

Thanks, I try. I just do the stuff I wish my dad did with me when I was a kid. Hasn't steered me wrong yet

But how will you ensure that your kid is a good parent?

I like to believe humans can improve generation to generation, but part of me thinks that you can create a well adjusted human being who nonetheless turns out to be a shitty parent and resets the whole iterative process.

Just thinking out loud here.

Holy shit, I might start watching that show now.

hey arnold

I agree. And I just think that the best way to go about it is to try your hardest and hope for the best. There's no science to creating a perfect person so I think it's impossible to aim for that goal.

I just want my kid to be happy and successful and to want the same of his children

...

Hannibal

>Watching literal propaganda made by a woman that drew gay porn featuring the children from Ed, Edd n' Eddy

Adventure time is good, promotes a positive attitude but doesn't shy away from dark topics, and it's pretty funny

That sounds about right.

EEnE

Marvel movies

>Cred Forums bitching about rule34 that they themselves requested
Grasping at straws with that one, unless you thought you were on reddit.

You are a cool dad, user.

the only good children's cartoon on television right now

It really is good. Just prepare for quite a few filler episodes, and the art in season 1 is pretty ehhhh. It takes a little while for the plot to pick up, but once it does it is full of well written twists and a solid story.

So you had an awful taste all along, who knew?
I liked the show for one season until the first season ended and I haven liked the show ever since

Who here /pdot/?

Fusion fucking when

animal church

> remembering when you voted for GAoBaM by phone
> KND's homage to Animatrix
> Count Spankula literally spanking a monkey

it was a golden age

>Dragonball

It really does have a huge dragonball feel, I will give you that

youtube.com/watch?v=67xFiC_O790

>watched the Empire City episode because fuck it
>don't understand what's happening plot-wise anymore

Fuck I need to get back into this show.

>the art in season 1 is pretty ehhhh

More than ehh, it's kinda...bad. Did you see the 1st Lunar Sea Spire episode? Shit was weird.

Don Patch?

you don't get to bring Jelly Jiggler

Wishbone. You'll learn some shit too.

Wakfu

Aww thanks anons

Awww

Seconding this answer. Clarence is impressively underrated. Don't judge it just from the visual style. It's very, very good.

Love this show. Stevani is best fusion.

children shouldn't be watching TV. They should be tilling the soil and sewing their school clothes.

Yes and no. My sister has two kids, and both of them have opposing problems.

Sister raised her daughter fearful that she will have a hard time in school like she did. Kid watched Sesame Street, Peppa Pig, and Backyardigans. Girl is super intuned with reading, math, music, art, and understands complex ideas. However, she's socially awkward and super-sensitive.

Sister feared that TV made her daughter like that, so her second child, her son, she prevented him from watching TV until he was 2... which he would then watch Ninja Turtle, Ninjago, and Bionicle. Boy is 4 now, and he talks to us like a grown up. He communicates amazingly, makes friends easily, and stands up for himself whenever people give him shit (namely mean kids). But he's terrible at school work so far. He can't count to 13. He has zero interest in learning, and would rather play with Legos all day.

Sister freaks out over both of them, but that's how kids are. They gain strengths, and you gotta help them with the weaknesses. Kids are amazing at school work? Awesome, but you're going to have to help them emotionally and socially. Kid is a social prodigy? He's going to have to fight to keep up with the other kids in grades.

how old are all these steven universe fans? jesus christ somehow its worse than the pony obsession

--->REDDIT

I would beat my kids if I ever saw them watching that trash.

TIDDER

It kind of went to shit when Sugar left.

Yea, but you don't till the soil year round. I have them muck the swamps when the weather permits. Otherwise, I have them muck the swamps anyway.

>meme universe is invading Cred Forums now

okay we get it

they couldn't even invade /trash/ effectively

Star Butterfly vs The Forces Of Evil

So you then make the kids have a child together. Perfect baby.

user no

Really cute

And with abortions, you can reroll stats

Pic related is just too cute and comfy. Plus, Elijah wood is a great voice actor.
We bare bears is also very comfy and funny

This plot point was really fucking weird for a kids show
Like Lapis was essentially raped for so long that it fucked with her mind and she got Stockholm syndrome so wanted to stay with Jasper?
