Mfw America hasn't made a good horror movie in decades

>mfw America hasn't made a good horror movie in decades

...

>tfw I'll never get a qt finnish gf

Horror, lad. Not Horrible.

The Guest

>Not liking Unfriended

Krampus
Crimson Peak
The Conjuring
10 Cloverfield Lane
The Witch
Starry Eyes
It Follows
You're Next
Drag Me to Hell
Bug

It follows

The Witch was half-Canadian and the rest of those were pretty bad.

Third act was hot garbage though

is this the same girl who does that disappointing face with the pink shirt? The horse girl. She even has nudes or something

The Conjuring.

Wan is a chink though so it doesn't count

You know what? I was going to sling a few choice words your way and completely eviscerate you, but then I decided that you're just not worth. Show your face around here again and I won't be so merciful.

lrn2write retard

>mfw America hasn't made a good horror movie in decades

wtf is contagion?

Oh, you mean that hypercliched inane movie about a couple of ghostwhisperers and a house?

Mfw no one has made a good horror movie since some wop in the 70's.

Name a better horror film to come out in the last decade.

ITT: Buttblasted Britfags who actually think they've made good horror recently.

... although Kill List was pretty good,

>t. tasteless faggot

Not him, but:
>Don't Blink
>Bone Tomahawk
>10 Cloverfield Lane (if you exclude the bullshit ending)
>The Final Girls
>Babadook
>The Grey
>Cabin in the Woods
>V/H/S 1
>Trick R Treat
>Paranormal Activity
>Leslie Vernon: Behind the Mask

Now, I now you'll probably say >better
but it's all subjective, and the VVitch disappointed me, not as much as 10 Cloverfield Lane's ending, though.

>better
Bone Tomahawk and Leslie Vernon were absolutely fucking terrible.

Why bother commenting when I told you exactly what you were going to comment?

House of the Devil was kino

But does anyone know any horror films that are legitimately scary?

Nuh uh, I said Bone Tomahawk and Leslie Vernon were terrible. You didn't know I was gunna say dat.

>America hasn't made a good movie in decades
Fixed.

Bone Tomahawk is good if you watch it thinking it's a western, bad if you watch it thinking it's horror

>Cabin in the Woods counts
>VVitch doesnt
OP is fag

no bully

wrong again OP

>Babadook
not horror, it is about a mother and her mentally ill son. total garbage
>Trick R Treat
>Leslie Vernon
really, really shitty on every level

do you read sutter cane?

Came to say these

also this

you have to be a huge pleb if you really think that

The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre legitimately terrified me.

y isnt this my gf

i need to watch this again. not sure what i was expecting but i was really underwhelmed.

No. All of these are terrible horror films. Crimson Peak and You're Next had other merits that make them not garbage, but the rest are terrible.

The last good horror film that saw wide release was The Mist and most faggots have such pleb taste that they can't acknowledge it.

That's the least scary horror movie I've ever seen, and I'm a pussy.

member good horror movies op? membeeer?

Bone tomahawk is a fucking meme and wasn't good

if they had triple the budget it could have had a chance though

>good horror movie
Horror is automatically bad.

lmao

It's only the most difficult genre to do well. You have to be able to direct drama at a high level while keeping suspense high through the movie. It's honestly under rated as a genre because there is so much shit in it. But there is only that much shit because of the extreme high difficulty of making quality horror.

I'm still waiting for a psychological horror.
Without jump scares.

And I think why horror doesn't work is it needs high quality in visuality. If you can't believe what you see...

Bug has been on my watchlist probably since it came out

Memeing aside, I really enjoyed It Follows

Try this

Post dodger feet

I've noticed a few recurring concepts that make horror good.

>isolation
>a vulnerable main character (woman, child)
>suspense building the entire movie before the full threat is actually viewed in the 2nd act climax
>a mystery as to what is happening or why with a good explaination
>a monster with a reasonable explaination behind their action even if it is base like being insane or being carnivorous
>an ending where the main character grows from the experience, as in good drama
>a false ending after the 2nd act climax has finished ramping up to the 3rd act climax

But for some reason this is incredibly difficult to write and make.

i second this fine recommendation

Invitation was a good spin on the classic old dark house genre.

I found myself not blown away, but unable to stop watching.

post more finlend qts??

Man, you could post 10 KINO horror films, and you're still going to get people calling the movies you post "shit". Don't even try on this board, it'll get you nowhere.

What I mean with psychological horror, I don't mean the protagonist.

I mean a movie that makes you, the viewer uncomfortable/afraid/anxious, without cheap tricks like "oooh ugly chinese kid".

Like the first act of Pandorum.
>underrated movie
It isn't a scary movie, but it got the basics right, which is why it's great.

If Radcliffe knew how to act scared, it would have been a lot better.

Maniac was bretty fugged up.

Pretty much immediately went into my top 10 horror

The ending was he best part of the film.

The entire first act was exactly that. What are you talking about? Invitations main strength was the anxious feeling at the party.

I haven't seen Invitations.
Was just clarifying what i meant.

Then watch his recommendation, it is what you want. Did you like black swan?

In fact they made one of the few great horror films of the past 10 years.

please tell me this is about a witch who takes the form of a goat

lmao

>horror
>good

It's a shit tier film. It's like Marvel made a horror film. So predictable, safe in every way possible and so uninsulting and faceless

What the fuck do you call Atroz then?

>ITT: Buttblasted Britfags who actually think they've made good horror recently.
>feeling personal pride or responsibility for things made by people because they're the same nationality as you
In other news, I hear your navy are doing well. Good job, m8.

wat

This
Also I feel bad for this society and mankind in general where I see only one single person saying
>Horror
>good
and rest are thinking opposite to him.
This planet needs to revamped from beginning.

Horror movies are for children. It's an inherently shit tier genre.

>Kill List was pretty good
Let's end this meme please. I recently got tricked into watching it by one of you fucks and it is trash.

my nigger

you should keep making this thread all the time oh wait

>Saying kino
>Expecting to get taken seriously

What if I told you... that you just have shit taste.

true. it was especially bad at the end ... absolutely pathetic

>horrorfag
>telling anyone they have shit taste

>halloween 2
That one was garbage

They were good nothing great.

The first Conjuring is my fav out of the recent

>a Rob Zombie film

>mfw the rest of the world hasn't made a good movie ever

Liking Kill List makes me a "horrorfag"? You should try harder

The Borderlands (Final Prayer)

Not him, but some good stuff in there. I think the first Rob Zombie Halloween was better, I'll give ya that. 31 was great, also.

>mfw America hasn't made a good horror movie in decades
In the chance of bait I'll bite

The Witch
It Follows
Bone Tomahawk
The Den
Stoker
Only Lovers Left Alive
Evil Dead
The Battery
Maniac (2012)
V/H/S and V/H/S 2
Cabin in the Woods
Pieces of Talent
You're Next
The Violent Kind
Dead Girl
Black Christmas (2006)
Silent Hill
The Descent
House of 1000 corpses
Dead End
May
Ginger Snaps
Event Horizon
The Exorcist 3
Scream
Willard
Long Pigs
Feast
No One Lives
Absentia
Found
Session 9
Excision
Bug

and thats the tip of the iceberg dumbass

Dead Girl was gnarly love that one

>31 was great

This is a huge pleb filter, and will probably be looked back upon as one of the greatest films of the decade.

>that perfect pacing to blow out normies
>that camera work - building a slow tension through more claustrophoc framing as the film goes on
>that Shining inspiration
>hand made outfits and houses
>the realistic dialogue to keep normie plebs bootieblasted
>that ending

I laugh at people who hate this movie IRL, inches from their face.

You almost convinced me to watch it, but your last fedora tipping comment turned me off.

MORDUM.

Arguably the poor man's Slow Torture Puke Chamber my famiglia.

That's your exact face? This is my face.

i need a pic of cloe fridge mode quick!

please!

c-cute!
