Thread for those who've been watching cinema seriously for 5+ years and have advanced past capeshit, mainstream movies and the same old flicks.

Don't be offended, this is not meant to be pretentious, its just some of us have moved past IMDb-core, indie flicks and the latest hyped blockbuster and have more developed tastes. Do not troll or derail the thread with off-topic discussion.

What good films have you been enjoying lately?

BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP

...

Gimme an example of your superior taste in filem.

...

miss her so much bros ;_;

Now this.

This is a good thread.

I can't thank you all enough for posting here today.

get over it fag

Cat People (Tourneur, 1942)
Out of the Blue (Hopper, 1980)
Exodus: Gods and Kings (Scott, 2014)
Pola X (Carax, 1999)

I don't expect you to know or be able to appreciate any of these movies, though

...

Is being a Criterionboo still entry level?

I only watched Out of the Blue for the cunny

>Exodus: Gods and Kings
Really? I've seen Out of the Blue and Pola X but I don't see how this can be in the same list. Develop?

She's already letting Tymarcus ram her cervix.

That's some pretty horrible taste you got there, user.

>>>advanced past capeshit, mainstream movies and the same old flicks.

I'm 40 years old and have been watching films 'seriously' for almost two decades. I've not advanced past capeshit et al. Why? Because I enjoy both films as art and films as entertainment. The two are not mutually exclusive.

Letter Never Sent is shit.

Here are my favorite movies I watched this summer.

What art films have you been watching? kek

>I'm 40 years old
lmao

Did you just sign up for a film class at community college?

The Passenger is quite fucking underrated

>not meant to be pretentious
>but my tastes are more developed than yours
every. fucking. time.

If you're lucky you'll be 40 some day too.

Who is this?
Also, I'd why, but she makes me want to watch eternal sunshine of a spotless mind

...

true kino

>the nice guys

Pleb

too bad loser :^)

t. chadcid

Agreed. Not nearly as well known as the Malaise trilogy, but excellent in its own right. Granted, I am very fond of Antonioni.

any rare amaranths?

Why did you choose be a snob in the lowest form of art?

Neo-noir is the autistic cinephile genre, just watch that.

The Long Goodbye (1970's one) is my favourite

Stop wasting your life watching movies

fine art > literature > cinema > theater > music

Or at least stop being snobby about what you've chosen to waste your life with.

me liked that one

>i dont expect you to know or to be able to appreciate any of these movies

because your taste is flim-flam-faggot-flavored

pretend more

video games > music > literature > cinema > theater > fine arts

you stay here forever don't forget that

only true pleb assumes that someone didn't watch and can't get or understand certain movie
yes you are true pleb
patrician is a state of mind

kek

I used to watch this daily when I was a kid

hold me Cred Forums

eat a sandwich /lbg/

>filter lbg and their shit threads.
>it still leaks
sage

go to your local arthouse theater you cuck, there's dozens of girls that look like amaranth and are just as obsessed with being pretentious

holy shit youre probably a redditor but in case you arent go there and stay there faggot theres no way youre THIS pretentious while having 0 self awareness about how insufferable you are

How can you not tell that this is a tranny?

/lbg/ on suicide watch

love this movie, its only flaw is that it's probably the only flick starring Linnea Quigley where she never gets nekkid

Recently re-watched this, such a comfy movie. I put it on at least a couple times a year, it's so much better than the Disney version

>Ants literally yell, "the workers control the means of production!"

>every artsy hipster chick in the world.

>the lobster
pleb

rHAHAHHAHAHAH

*says nigger infront of her*

All of Cocteau's work is criminally overlooked on this board. I really like the handmade feel to Orpheus and Blood of a Poet.

whos the semen demon

I really wasn't that impressed with Orpheus. It's by no means bad and I can see why it's hailed as a technical masterpiece. But the film itself really wasn't as impressive as I expected it to be.

Watched Spirit of the Honeycomb a week ago. Pretty much a cinephile now. Going to watch El Sur probably today or tomorrow. My theme/genre interest is slowcore/coming of age, especially girls.

Don't think twice is my top pick of the year so far which has honestly been rather shit

Yes i even saw the witch and its not that good

shit
below average
shittiest
shit

your taste is shit user ;

>Spirit of the Honeycomb

>people bite the spam and get mad
>and more pathetically there are people who engage with it seriously
And that with this shit being a months-old thing. Also, anyone interested in discussing cinema beyond Cred Forums's usual, shouldn't do such in a ridiculous bait thread like this, coming straight from a butthurt child from another circlejerk general.
Instead, just make a simple, inviting good thread.

>Cat People
>shit

Or maybe we realize it's pasta and don't give a shit. Stop being such a faggot

Why Cat People? I've found it to be weak. The Leopard Man was better.

That little lady is fucking great. She is as awesome and energetic as she is small. Fuck I love her to bits. Her husband knew how to use her well in films, used her strongest qualities. Really sorry for what happened to her, she could have been spared that pain.

Watched Level Five today
Chris Marker is such a fucking weirdo

Sure, sure. Of course that's the case
