Do you visit your local theaters often?

Do you visit your local theaters often?

No I do not. I always get bullied by the high school kids, so I stopped going.

I'm 32

Yeah but I'm done with going to the movies. I've grown out of it. It's an adolescent activity.

guys i have a problem
i was at my local cinema and all of a sudden they started adding a time-limit to the popcorn pits i was only allowed in there for 10 minutes
is the quality of theaters becoming shittier with the amount of control these people have?
also they stopped selling crab legs

Yes with my falcon

The Regal near me got remodeled not too long ago and now has leather recliners in every theater. They also implemented assigned seating. Shit is luxury as fuck.

i visit on average 3 times per week. i go alone most of the time. fuck the police.

Over the past two years, I have seen the following at my local theater, and all in the same theater:

Blade Runner
Akira
Alien
Terminator 2
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Blue Velvet
Citizen Kane
The Room
2001: A Spacy Odyssey
The Rocky Horror Picture Show

I take a definite pleasure from the knowledge that I have watched both Orson Welles and Tommy Wiseau flip out in near-identical fashion on the same movie screen, in the same Room.

I actually think it's a great rule, it really makes the popcorn intermissions more interesting, especially when they lock the pits and send the dogs on the retards that stay in too long

kys loser

Add They Live to this.

not anymore
>movies come after 2-3 weeks after initial release
>mostly movies for kids/stuff anyone under 18 can get into

Memes aside, is the no singles policy a real thing? I've never seen this in Canada, why would going alone be an issue?

>Akira and Holy Grail on a big screen
Damn bruh. What theater you going to?

>popcorn pits
what is a popcorn pit?

I dont go to the cinema, because I have no one to go with

I'd rather get shitfaced and watch films here at home. Sorry Jews, your IMAX experience doesn't top my comfy couch with vodka and pie.

>ywn experience the popcorn pits for the first time again
I envy you

If you go to the tier of movies gaggles of high schoolers go to see as a 32 year old man you deserve to be bullied for your shit taste in general

No, but frisking is real. At least my theater employee told me to empty my pockets. I told him it isn't worth it and kept on my way. Asshole didn't ask to look in my sister's purse.

I go pretty much every tuesday if there's stuff I want to see. Every theater here is only $5.

Singles are very likely to be mass shooters.

Of course, some places get around this with Singles boxes, which are bullet-proof glass cubicles typically located at the front of the auditorium where Singles are escorted to by armed security guards and herded into. Some places even have unofficial heckler rules where patrons are encouraged to throw popcorn and candy at the boxes and mock the Singles for going to a theater all by themselves.

My local theater has one, which is why I don't go very often.

I'm seeing Metropolis in an old restored film palace with an orchestra accompaniment for the soundtrack in about a week and a half. I saw The Seventh Seal there about a year ago, and Nosferatu with a similar orchestral accompaniment when I was 7.

Anyone else never gone to a movie alone?

I saw Metropolis with live music too.
Both the movie and the music were shit.

I've tried more than once but never got through with it no matter what tricks I tried.

Probably 2 or 3 times per month as long as there is something I might enjoy.

It's real. It's a result of all the theater shootings in america.

I guess that's a matter of opinion, I liked it well enough the first time I saw it six or seven years ago. If you get the chance to see Nosferatu that way, though, don't hesitate to go.

There's another place near me that isn't this grandiosely decorated old movie house, but they still show(ed) old movies and I saw a lot of cool shit there, like a bunch of Marx Brothers movies, The Treasure of the Sierra Madre, and all the classic Universal monster films.

More places other than theaters are starting have it

>be at gun range
>didnt get rusty since last year and am pretty bored
>decide to rent a gun for fun
>fill out the rent forms show the guy my papers
>rent form needs a 2nd signature from someone i know
>ask the guy whats this
>"a couple of times we had people shoot themselves when they rented a gun so we dont rent out to people who are alone anymore"
>"but i have a gun so dont you think i would have shot myself already"
>"well you can get a single shot shotgun for $50 so maybe people just want to kill themselves with another persons gun"
Thanks obama

Seems insane practically going to the movies every week. Are you a neet or a reviewer?

Neither. I just have no social life and my local theater has $5 movies on Mondays.

Anyone still has those cinema plans with pits and dens and laser grids, bulletproof cages for singles

>yfw when friend's family owns local cinema
>yfw when for your 20th birthday they give you a private screen
>sit there with all your bros watching your favourite movies, flicks and pieces of kino and playin vidja on a huge screen
That was the best birthday ever

>wn experience the popcorn pits for the first time again
I dont think they have them in my country, whatever they are.

It hasn't made it to every part of the US, but it's got to be in at least a few places in Canuckville. It's easy enough to circumvent.
