What ever happened to movies having their own hit song like Kiss from the Rose or Wild Wild West? I cant think of a movie this decade that has had one.

Spacejam had the best one.
The Rihanna song for Star Trek Beyond was fucking great but it didn't catch on with the normalfags.
Damn that joker is so shit
> Come on and slam and welcome to the jam. Come on and slam if you want to jam
What did he mean by this?
Because we're no longer watching music videos all the time on mtv, I think we aren't as exposed to it. But you got Let it Go from Frozen, Happy from whichever minion movie that was, Skyfall.
Maybe also filmmakers are finding it's kind of a gaudy thing to do. I mean, it still seems alright for cheesy nostalgic 90s stuff like Armageddon and Titanic, but these days I feel like film scoring is valued a little more highly in mainstream movies. Those kinds of blockbuster movie songs and their wack videos with awkwardly dropped in movie scenes are just out of style.
KISS FROM A ROOOOOOOOOSE
Happy by Pharell
Let It Go.
They get their songs but they aren't hit songs youtu.be
...
I guess the James Bond series keeps it somewhat alive, Skyfall probably being their most radio-played intro song.
What movie?
...
Despicable Me 2
Wtf were they thinking, fall out boy isnt even relevent anymore. God what an abortion
>What is Frozen
I don't mind this. Seal is based.
Chinese movies looooove to do this still.
I agree 100 senpai
Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates had a song during the credits
what a fucking awful song
Thats not an original song but man was that scene kino
There aren't any niggers buying CDs at best buy. Remember when you'd buy a movie soundtrack and it was filled with this totally unrelated to the movie?
youtube.com
2 billion views
Nothing happened to it.
Actors dying really do make bank for the studios
Bond movies always have a song you idiot
Star Trek: Beyond had a great song, but Paramount didn't advertise it at all.
Nick Cave better incapsulated the spirit of the Batman comics in a single five minute song that never even uses the word 'Batman' than professional filmmakers have been able to do in 10 seperate live action films. You can't explain that.
this wouldn't be so bad if it was just a Rick Ross banger. Skrillex is aids.
that's because Batman works best with gothic elements and Nick Cave has his roots in early goth rock
The 90s were a different time
Wish That You Were Here from Miss Peregreinenenene's Home for Peculiar Children is bretty gud.
True. Also, Nick Cave is literally a goddamn genius. Fight me.
I am seeing that movie specifically because I dig that song. I, like everyone, used to love Tim Burton. But I, like everyone, also recognize the fact that he has been a talentless hack for the better part of two decades now. Oh well, I can usually find things to like in most films. I liked certain aspects of Dark Shadows, although that movie was a huge piece of shit.
And she is German , so nothing of value was lost
His scores are pure spookino
This is a shame, it was such a great song.
ALL MY FRIENDS ARE HEATHENS
She did a song for Star Trek? What the fuck? I don't remember it from the movie at all, was it over the end credits or what?
For a more sensitive Batman.
m.youtube.com
Shakira - Try Everything from Zootopia
Dunno how much of a hit it was, but it was a big name artist and the song itself was okay
Also although I doubt the song was written specifically for the movie, it was probably just stuck on
I fucking miss music videos featuring snippets from the actual film they were promoting.
If this isn't a Peter Gabriel cover, I'm not interested.
U2 did the Batman song that best encapsulated his character. I mean, 'hold me, thrill me, kiss me, kill me,' doesn't that just scream 'Batman'?
m.youtube.com
FUCKING GARBAGE HAHAHA
God these songs are horrible
Literally only a hit cause Paul Walker died, that song sucks too.
This song though, hell yah, so corny and cheesy...based for that era.
fucking niggers destroying music
it's no wonder nobody remembers the songs for movies these days if this is the shit getting churned out
kek nice
Juicy Js verse is the only one mentionin anything about the turtles.
You guys forgot
youtube.com
Right on, this user.
I can't fucking stand Rihanna, but I stuck around for that song. It just fit.
A better song by miles
this was already posted... and yeah we know it's garbage
you say that like it's an unpopular opinion, faggot
fucking forgot to post this youtube.com
jesus i wore out my tape of that song
GOTHAM CITAAAAAAAAAAY
movies with thier own music videos are cringey
youtube.com
this one was the shit
I like this one. I still remember hearing it all those years ago at the end of Godzilla 1998.
That song alone makes Batman Forever kino.
kek just realized that was R kelly not seal
Perfect song for that movie...fucking clean version is horrible though.
>Only was a hit because of a man's death
Pure shit btw.
The only nigga that deserved it
>was it over the end credits or what?
The end credits was the original Star Trek theme song, AND THEN they played the Rihanna song.
Will Smith's music career in general is cringey
Except the shit back then was definitely worse
I think it was used in one of the trailers.
>Shell Shocked
I always forget how fucking hype this song is, TMNT 2014 is a shitty masterpiece.
nobody thought it was cringey back then. he was cool. all the kids wanted to be like Will Smith.
youtube.com
>GODZILLA PURE MUTHAFUCKIN FILLA
He was only cool in Fresh Prince, everyone in hip hop back then thought his music was corny
youtube.com
Knew the song before I saw the movie.
Jesus. I'd put this up there with "Kiss From A Rose". Fucking great outro to a fucking great flick.
Not the same person...but the shit today was worse than the 90s?
Some def AS bad...but to say the music from then is worse...yeah that's just a flatout lie.
MY POWER
MY PLEASURE
MY PAIN
There still hasn't been anything good from 90's posted. Probably because it doesn't exist. Prove me though.
Need For Speed generation. First time a vidya sparked a movie genre.
Nah, it's much worse today.
>Obligatory rap song in EVERY fucking movie, even if it doesn't fit
WE FEEL IT ALL
WE FEEL THE RISE BEFORE THE FALL
NO DIVIDING US, WE FEEL IT ALL, WE FEEL IT
Oh yes, EVERY movie.
I thought Fast and Furious sparked Need for Speed's turn to ricer culture.
youtube.com
for that other black person.
Despicable Me had one.
>I'm having a bad bad day
I preferred ninja rap
That Tron sequel a couple years back, with Daft Punk.

"Don't Want To Miss A Thing" by Aerosmith from Armmegeddon youtube.com
"Streets of Philadelphia" by Bruce Springstien from Philadelphia youtube.com
"Everything I Do (I Do It For You)" by Bryan Adams from Robin Hood - Prince of Thieves youtube.com
"My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion from Titanic youtube.com
nobody is saying that celine dion's song from the titanic is good but it's an iconic song
nobody will ever remember any of this rap-over-dubstep shit in 10 years, let alone remind them of the movie it was for
yeah your reference to a 2008 cartoon sure shows how people felt back in the 90's.
god job, faggot.
try being useful for once in your life.
How do you know? Muh feelings?
i was just trying to be funny
Classic.
>"Don't Want To Miss A Thing" by Aerosmith from Armmegeddon
Top tier music kino right there
>What ever happened to movies having their own hit song
It was a fucking stupid idea and that's why they stopped doing it.
Fucking idiot.
this is probably the worst song from the soundtrack too
>Bryan Adams
So fucking based. I loved that movie, and that song was just so great.
Simmer down you ignorant faggot. You don't have any uncles or anything who were into hip hop back then? They'd all tell you he was wack
I would have seen After Earth if it had a new Will Smith song.
>How do you know?
because nobody knows them now
You mean you don't.
youtube.com
bonus points if you know which movie
Was gonna post song for you, but someone already did...seriously some of the 90s movies songs are so iconic...kids today sing em, and don't even know/seen the movie
Another iconic song, may not like it, but everyone knows it

Bruce S. really makes great movie songs,
I've never see the movie of link related but the song is in my head since I heard it
youtube.com
You're right about that though. Only song of his i like
suicide squads album went gold last week and heathens has a high view count on youtube
i was around back then. his early shit was fairly popular. it wasnt until after he did fresh prince that his shit started to stink.
Hit'em High was better.
It was still lame shit though, especially compared to Rakim, KRS, etc.
>In every white american there is a lil' nigga waiting to come out.
that shit was prophecy
Not even gonna lie, shit was so fucking awesome. Still gives me goosebumps, such a perfect song for the movie.
>that scene where spidey has to choose who to save
With Honors
Gimme my points
Admittedly I had to look it up and now im watching it
>the face when playing yu gi oh on a gba emulator while listening to numb
youtube.com
Which movie?
Could've worked for Godzilla too desu.
SOMEBODY ONCE TOLD ME
I'd rather have obligatory rap song in every movie than the short meme of Pokerface in every movie
>100 million views
Mya, god she looks so fucking good now a days...thicc Mya is best Mya
sick
lmao i like them back in the day
Matrix
Heres another matrix one youtube.com
Matrix, if my memory serves
I did too.
Sony tried with Suicide Squad and "Heathens"
Supposedly ODB was not even supposed to be on the track but he was in the studio when they recorded it and he liked it so much he decided to collaborate.
RIP in peace ODB
Suicide Squad is not a Sony movie.
The sample of Kashmir is what makes it good not his rapping.
Deep Blue Sea
Step aside, plebs, true patrician's soundtrack and movie coming through:
youtube.com
ODB was legit man, fucking crazy dude he was awesome, and he could do his thing on tracks
He's the reason Danny Brown is my favorite modern rapper. Only guy that can comes close to his utter insanity and entertainment
Hopefully a troll. That song has been around for decades.
it's referring to injecting crystal meth AKA tina
Those movies are terrible.
The only ones that come to mind are
"Uh oh. We're in trouble. Someone's come along and burst our bubble!"
And
"And they say that a hero can save us. I'm not gonna stand here and wait!"
Absolute kino
Because Will Smith stopped doing music, and good movies too
I think you're forgetting something.
Smells like teen spirit in Pan
youtube.com
pure kino
>implying Nick Cave isn't the GOAT soundtrack master
youtube.com
youtube.com

youtube.com
fuck yeah , bitch
youtube.com
even Vidya gaemz have their own tie in songs
see Florence and the Machine for FFXV
and if i remember XIII had Leona Lewis as a featured artist as well
youtube.com
this is one of the most late 90s/early 2000s things I've ever watched.
That radiohead song that Spectre declined was pretty good. So was Skyfall
Do you think she's attracted to his scarred monster face?
It just sounded like a shitty version of pyramid song
who cares about that, she has BBC
ITT nostalgia for songs that aren't any better than modern ones
t. underageb&
Yeah Whitney Houston was garbage...no better than these songs , what are these people thinking
Lmao, you're delusional
>post sell out marilyn manson
>writing music promoting the same stuff he was adamantly against earlier in his career
Sad
>post sell out marilyn manson
>implying golden age of grotesque isn't his best album
GET OUTTA MY WHEY AMERICAN FUCKINSHEETS
Being an objectively good album or not has no bearing on whether he had sold out at that point.
Mechanical Animals was the beginning of the end, and the Columbine shooting controversy with him just fueled the fire.
His lyrics held out for a little while longer, but he just became as plastic as anyone else in the industry
Didn't she cheat on him with the family's bodyguard, who's white, and then divorce him?
