Rick and Morty is very good. It's funny but not in the laugh-a-minute kind of way. It has character with a surprising amount of depth. Some episodes are just fun, some make you think and a couple of them depress the fuck out of you. I recomend you try it. It's not for everyone and I can't really say whether or not you'll like it.

Writing is decent and it's reasonably funny. But I cannot watch it because I literally cannot stand the VAs. What were they thinking when they cast the two most obnoxious, annoying, grating voices ever as the main characters? Some episodes are great, but most of them are really bad. The bad episodes are the ones that try to be "deep", involve improvisation, or focus on the parents.

The simpsons is mass produced fun-for-the-whole-family casual filth, kind of like mobile gaming. R&M is aimed at the 'big kids'

I'd say it's a 7/10. However, the show got extra appeal from being another middle-class family layout a la Simpsons FG etc. etc. whereas a show like Space Dandy could never gain this much success in the mainstream.

Yes, the show has a few slightly annoying jokes and "messages" but it has only been two seasons. And then there are the fanboys. Tattooing "nobody exists on purpose blah blah" on their arms and shit.

I have no idea why this is so popular. The dialogue is dire and the art isn't particularly good. I saw quite a bit recently and just couldn't wrap my head around it, it was incredibly boring.
