Oldboy meets Spring Breakers with hints of Lynch and violence on the level of Miike...

Oldboy meets Spring Breakers with hints of Lynch and violence on the level of Miike. This is also one of the few Japanese kinos to have a solid 9/10 soundtrack. Do yourself a favor and check this out bros.

Everyone in that movie is legitimately crazy. Like, is there a single character who isn't completely fucked in the head?

I still need to see this movie, but I recommend Confessions if you guys enjoyed this one too.

Same director, fucking crazy ending

Is there a single Japanese person who isn't completely fucked in the head?

You're right, halfway through I was like of course his daughter is going to be a fucking lunatic look at her father. I think the mother may have been somewhat sane. Just stuck in a fucked up family.

Yeah I have that one as well. I was trying to choose between the two tonight and ended up going with WoK. It's good to see Confessions getting praise as well, it's been a while since I was pretty hype about a japanese director.

definitelt check it out tonight if you're staying up, it's insane

I would but my gf and I kicked off our Halloween horror fest with this one (both were on some Asian horror list somewhere) and she's gone to bed. I read very little about Confessions but what I did read seemed pretty fucked so I can't wait to see it.

Ah nice, yeah don't read any major spoilers, it's totally worth it.

here is the trailer, i get what OP meant by using those references

>japs don't have a single original thought in their head, they only just streamline what others have made
call me when a truly interesting jap movie has come out

It is original and has a good story with great execution. It also is one of the most Western-ish Jap films I've seen probably ever in terms of production. I only started the thread comparing it those things to get people's attention. It didn't feel derivative of anyone else's work while watching it.

sound like edgy teen garbage 2bh. If I was 10 years younger I'd probably be interested.

this movie was hot chuuni garbage, you are either baiting or a weeb

I wanted to really like this movie because the trailer was so enticing, but it was just forgettable.

It wasn't a bad film, it just didn't have anything memorable or original that made me interested the entire time

>forgettable
Strange. I felt it was pretty memorable for modern Japanese movies in terms of pacing and storytelling alone. I thought the way the story unfolded and how it jumped back and forth in time was executed very well.

the dialogue and characters where laughably bad, all while taking itself as serious as possible

So she's that creepy Junji Ito girl?

I can totally see her as a Tomie type

>violence as a selling point

Yeah, nah.

Sorry, this """"film""" looks like a piece of shit. 6.5 on IMDB and only fucking 2.5/4 on rogerebert.com?

Pass.

>Oldboy meets Spring Breakers with hints of Lynch and violence on the level of Miike

t. Pseud

No.

>2.5/4 on rogerebert.com
How the fuck can a dead dude review films?

Thanks Kino bro

People liked spring breakers? Others than titties brah, why?

This is the current ghostwriter for Ebert

Where can I watch it my nigs

Gonna give this one a try tonight. Also that confessions thing sounds interesting.
BTw, guy looking for it, I can only find this flick for rental or purchase online it's not on Netflix Hulu etc

chinese kino is better

>watching japanese film
>can't tell if character is mentally retarded or if it's just their culture

edgy anime shit

this

as every japanese movie ever. Japan should stick to pornography

>you will never live with a lovey dovey qt3.14 ghost who teaches you to love life and your job again

>kino

I don't know anymore if I should think this movie is good or awful.

jdimsa

Oldboy was korean, japs can't make good movies, because they can't act for shit probably due to the fact of them being dead inside living in an oppressive society, so they make cartoons because they have no good actors. All jap movies and tv shows are complete garbage only liked by extreme weeaboos.

Why cant Japanese people act for shit?

They're subhuman slant-eyed cocksuckers.

Literally the only time i have thought a jap actor was really bringing a character to life was Kakihara from Ichi the killer

I wonder what it says about them the only character convincingly portrayed is a utterly amoral, sadomasochist freak

Asano is a good actor

I wonder how life is for her,I think she got released from the crazy can, not sure

>Oldboy meets Spring Breakers with hints of Lynch and violence on the level of Miike
is that supposed to sound good? viral marketing is getting weirder.

just watched it op thanks for the suggestion

its good shit

I watched this years ago and couldn't follow the plot. Had to googled up a more in depth explanation of what was going on from japs that had read the original source novel.

And stay there.

korean kino

where does one download those azn kinos? i google here and only find dead links for kanako

I saw this at Otakon, no idea where you can see it

Avistaz it's invite only though, if you barter around on /jp/ or Reddit you can get an invite easily.
Rutracker has some stuff too.

Here's a stream though.

It's nothing like spring breakers or lynch however, It's more like a modern take on a 70's crime drama, the trailer is fairly misleading.

>Bad man is saved by a gracious woman.
Chairman Mao didn't die for this.

>b-but public trackers have everything that private trackers have!

it's on PTP.

Holy shit. How can you post a Tetsuya Nakashima thread and not mention his BEST movie.

Like this is a 10/10

Does every piece of japanese media has a highschool as a setting?
