Will China have their own Hollywood?

Will China overtake America as the centre of global art culture and entertainment? Will they ever be a trend setter in the asian world like Japan, when it comes to television and movies?

>everything has to be approved by the government

>no Internet
>Big Bro government
>retarded language nobody wants to speak

>trend setter

No, they're not a Western country and only the US is a big enough Western country to be the trend setter.

A CHINGY CHANG CHONG BING BONG DING DONG WING WANG COW FUNG MOO LONG

>centre of global art culture and entertainment?

NO

> mass producer of chinese propaganda?

Yes.

Even us chinese don't like most chinese films because of obvious "pro government" messages that the CPC forces movies to include.

No, their directors are all on a tight state-controlled leash and corruption stifles creativity.

The only semi-decent film China has produced (活着)was actually banned because it touched upon topics the government didn't like.

That's why ALL media in China either focuses on Chinese killing Japanese, or the spoiled lives of upper-middle classes who all look like 9/10 models and divorce a lot.

>> mass producer of chinese propaganda?

If you are annoyed by every other hollywood movie forcing niggers with white women...

wait until you see chinese movies beating you over the head about how individuality is bad and state government is good.

there is a very good reason most of us chinese bypass our own movie selections and strictly watch european, american, and japanese films.

No. Too much ching-chong language. Everybody knows English.

I watched Chinese TV series to learn Chinese and had to stop.

The last straw was when a TV show claimed that the British tried to invade China in 1948 but the Communists bravely shelled the royal navy to prevent it.

>had to stop
Stop what, watching chinkshit or learning chinkshit?

>That's why ALL media in China either focuses on Chinese killing Japanese, or the spoiled lives of upper-middle classes who all look like 9/10 models and divorce a lot.

It's funny how hamfisted the CPC propaganda is.

Bad japs characters are over the top bad.

Western indulgences are shown in ridiculously laughable manners.

Only traditional chinese characters are the good guys.

The Chinese are trying to do what the Jews do, in controlling world media.

But the chinese are Waaaaayyyyyy to clumbsy and totalitarian in their approach.

>The Chinese are trying to do what the Jews do, in controlling world media.
>But the chinese are Waaaaayyyyyy to clumbsy and totalitarian in their approach.

1000% this

watching chinkshit.

I work for a Chinese company in the UK so I still have to learn chinkshit. All the locals (brits) though just made our own community within the company as the Chinese are weird.

Another scene I saw in a western TV series was when a white guy (clearly and poorly dubbed by a chinese person speaking broken english) talked about how unbeatable western martial arts was, beating everyone until the "wise calm chinese martial arts master" beat him in the ring. urgh.

I'd never work for chinks tbqh. Is the money good at least?

>when a white guy (clearly and poorly dubbed by a chinese person speaking broken english) talked about how unbeatable western martial arts was

This is why chinese propaganda fails miserably.

The CPC is not very in touch with reality and pop culture around the world, so their propaganda comes off as bad comedy to westerners.

It's so hilariously transparent. It's terrible to see some western actors you recognise taking part in the charade too.

It's always Nicholas Cage.

No seriously, he's always in Chinese propagada TV series. That guy will do anything for money.

Yes, they increased my pay by 5k this year alone because the turnover is so high and they struggle to keep anyone on board.

No, because no one likes the Chinese and what they make.

What are they gonna do?

Sell cheaper seats at cheaper movie theaters that don't show a full movie or it's just out of focus?

The Chinese sell to the Chinese. Then they buy everyone else's shit because even the Chinese prefer not Chinese shit.

>No, because no one likes the Chinese and what they make.

This is especially true for alot of us ex-pats who have left that communist shithole.

>implying (((they))) would allow their propaganda machine to fall behind

China won't overtake America so much as the US will cease to have a monopoly on television and film. It's not about the decline of the West or anything, it's just a result of globalization.

>Yes, they increased my pay by 5k this year alone because the turnover is so high

Common chinese tactic for Huawei & ZTE (both copy Cisco routers part for part.)

Hwawei tactics:
1) Hire ex Cisco employees at 2 to 3x the salary
2) Ex employee begrudingly joins chinese company because of pay
3) Hwawei asks for ex employee to turn over all Cisco project work and collateral
4) Hwawei makes sure they completely reverse engineer Cisco's projects
5) Hwawei then fires the expensive, ex-Cisco employee

Talk to any tech workers in India... This is a common tactic used by chinese corporations to steal western Intellectual Property & patents.

Fuck Cisco with their overpriced bullshit anyway.

Nah, Hollywood will become more irrelevant worldwide because of their movies are progressively becoming worse with each passing year.
But no one will take their place.

Movie industry will just wither and die in the near future.

kek im at huawei, well done

Not at all.
They're still a decade+ behind on many,many things.

Yup... fuck Cisco, and every single American corporation that has any IP or patents.

Fuck american workers.

Fuck american jobs.

GO CHINA!!!

No and no. China has no understanding of art.

HOLY SHIT YOU'RE JOKING????

LLOOLOLOLOLO

Yeah, watch your back over there.

Same with ZTE

Now you're going to tell me you used to work for Cisco, Ericksson, or Lucent...

Am I close?

actually joined as a graduate but still, what you said is spot on

im the only graduate to have made it 1 year

I'm chinese ex-pat as you can tell...

The things the chinese do brings shame to all of us.

I hate that I'm stereotyped as a self centered thief with no morals or ethics.... just because of the actions of the 'bad' chinese.

You'll find that most of us chinese will turn 180 in our politics once we leave China's sphere of influence.

no
at least now the jews can start jewing the chink (which is the biggest jew of all asian) and the battle of who can jew who harder really begin

the head of my department isnt chinese, and they chinese are furious at that

the worst thing about huawei is they think they can just run a chinese company in other countries but act like they are global

on an individual level i like the chinese people but as a collective it gets nasty

where'd the dirtiest Asians get so much money that the u.s. is so heavily indebted to them

they make stuffs, despite low quality and cheap, they do still make a lot of stuff

we don't anymore. i mean we do make stuffs but how many planes and weapon can you sell to the rest of the world, compare to literally pretty every fucking things that everybody use daily

Cheap labour with no morals.

>where'd the dirtiest Asians get so much money that the u.s. is so heavily indebted to them

From the western world, dumbass.

we've been buying their cheap garbage for decades now.

You don't seem to understand how the debt works. Only about 13% of debt is from China. The rest is from the American people.

To add to this (long read but quite insightful)

>Cheap labour with no morals.

This is also why I left China.

We're paying a heavy price for the economic boom. Outskirts of manufacturing cities are basically "cancer camps" for the poor.

If you're in your 20's and get a job in Beijing, you kind of accept the fact that you'll eventually develop respiratory problems & get lung cancer.

that's not even getting into all the toxin laden foods with no quality standards or inspection (everyone is bribed)

Isn't that every Chinese martial art movie now?

I remember Fearless being particularly obnoxious.
>Japanese man making tea very methodically
>Jet Li says something about how the flavors are all equal or some shit and just mixes them together
>Japanese correctly man says that would taste like shit
>Jet Li has no retort other than, "but it makes me happier that way."
>Japanese man acts like this is some kind of revelation

Then of course there's the nonsensical fight where 105lb Jet Li kicks the shit out of a 400lb roided white wrestler/boxer required in every Chinese film since 1995.

>If you're in your 20's and get a job in Beijing, you kind of accept the fact that you'll eventually develop respiratory problems & get lung cancer.

True, but what was the alternative for these people? Stay in the countryside and become poor farmers until they are 80?
It's easy for you to say since you escape the shithole, people who are poor and want to take care of their family they gotta bite the bullet

Shame there aren't more who feel the same way.

Where'd you emigrate to? It's tiresome seeing your country turn into a hub for masses of Chinese. They actually have big protests here where they wave flags and shout about how the South China Sea is theirs.

>It's always Nicholas Cage.
>No seriously, he's always in Chinese propagada TV series. That guy will do anything for money.
I choose to believe this

>3) Hwawei asks for ex employee to turn over all Cisco project work and collateral
I seriously hope you guys don't do this.

>mfw can't wait for the next trilogy of cage doing CHINESE NATIONAL TREASURE

shiet, with a country with history and size like china, they probably can make 10 movies
5 of them are just digging up false tomb of Qin Shi Huang

I remember hearing somewhere that Nic Cage just shows up at fossil and meteorite auctions and buys fucking everything.

dude has serious problem with spending money on stupid shit
i remember reading him paying a ton for the first edition of the very first issue of superman
where is his wife? surely she doesn't make as much money to have a final say but at least nag a bit when your husband when fortune on stupid shit

>It's easy for you to say since you escape the shithole, people who are poor and want to take care of their family they gotta bite the bullet

True. And I don't mean to sound crass about this since I'm "out", but the only way to change China is from within.... good luck fighting the CPC.

Not that same user, but from what I hear Chinese students will come either here to America or Canada and don't end up returning home.

>Even us chinese don't like most chinese films because of obvious "pro government" messages that the CPC forces movies to include.

Why do you guys tolerate such a government?

>fossil and meteorite auctions and buys fucking everything.

) Hwawei asks for ex employee to turn over all Cisco project work and collateral
>I seriously hope you guys don't do this.

It's pretty much a part of the condition for your extravagant (though temporary) pay.

In my experience, I've seen hesitation, push back, but ultimately, Huawei will get the IP from the ex employee.

It's either that for they fire you and go after the 1000's of other Cisco ex employees.

>tolerate

You act like we have a choice?

Remember when a few students had an opinion on this in 1989 and they ended up getting ran over by Tanks on Tianamen square?

how does that work even? do they copy all that shit beforehand?

>Will they ever be a trend setter in the asian world like Japan, when it comes to television and movies?

Maybe, though I remember I asked a former expat about why China didn't export its rich history and culture like Japan did to the rest fo the world. He said it's because the Chinese see their culture as "theirs" and not something to be sold to the outside world. Which really ties back in to the ancient Chinese belief that China was literally the center of the world.

I don't think such an attitude will help them gain cultural dominance. The West already won that race. And the fact is that their government so tightly cultures ALL pop culture expression that there's no room for innovation or boundary pushing, because while I'm sure there are Chinese artists that would want that to happen, it would never be allowed by the government.

Also, the Chinese government forbids pornography from either being filmed or distributed in China. What the fuck? They've got 30 million surplus men and no pornography?

This

>hollywood movie forcing niggers with white women

How often does that actually happen? And how often is that pairing the main couple?

Which, as modern American culture has proven, as the proper way you deal with student dissidents.

If they didn't have Tianamen square, their activists would have taken root culturally and they'd be about ten years from the progressive madness that's killing America today.

Good for you, China. You learned from our mistakes.

Kent State was no mistake

Yeah, I agree. Which is a real tough titty because of how the way things are right now with the economic boom it would be easier to distract people with superfluous stuff like in america

Yeah I know what are you talking about. Usually some of them will try and avoid authority to stay (illegal), or get married to stay (legally). The problem is you still need the initial money to get to there to "study", and it cost a lot so poor fucks in china really have no chance beside literally get into a ship and got shipped here

No second amendment

Hollywood isn't America.

If anything, it is more Israel than it is America.

Your question should be: Will China overtake Israel as the center of global art culture and entertainment?

>that's not even getting into all the toxin laden foods with no quality standards or inspection (everyone is bribed)

Um, isn't one of the benefits of such a Communist and authoritarian government that while you don't have as much freedom, you at least don't have to worry about government corruption?

it's just the law said that
forbidden didn't mean shit to them in term of distribution over the internet
fuck sake, i met a lot of korean and chinese flag seeding jav (both countries have law against porno). the chinese right now nearly took over the jav release, with their fucking watermark advertising their gambling website which is also another thing that is forbidden

Yeah, but they should have doubled down and really fucked up a big protest.

Some well-placed tanks in Berkely could have saved America.

Oh well, too late now. Now I can only take comfort in the fact that progressives will rule for less than a quarter century before Islam slaughters them and takes over. I'll convert in a heartbeat if I'm still around when it finally happens.

Hollywood is America. The ones at the top might be Jewish but the ones making the movies (directors, actors, etc) are all mostly non-Jewish

right, but all the biggest names are mostly jews
really make me think

>Only the people in charge that make all the decisions and the most successful actors are Jewish, therefore it's mostly non-Jewish.

Most of Saudi Arabia isn't the royal family, that must mean Saudi Arabia is mostly a non-monarchy.

Heh, that's pretty funny.

Chinese people come here and buy all the baby formula from local shops at once so they can resell it.

What country are you talking about?

That only works in civilized countries aka west and northern europe

Australia

God I hope so Hollywood is so isolated and out of touch with reality anything that changes that can only help

>the biggest names
Like who? The only Jews at Hollywood that the average person will know or care about are people like Spielberg and Mel Brooks, nobody cares about the Jews behind the scenes like Harvey Weinstein

>Hollywood isn't America
lmao jealous foreigner detected

No they will not. The same reason why Western films have a hard time appealing to Asian markets. Just different ways of living.

Its more like he owes a shit ton of gambling debts and this is the only way to keep his knee caps.

...

No, for the same reason the USSR never did. State run shit is soulless. Corporate is too, but they are in the business of making money not pushing an ideology.

Not to mention Chinese shit is that marketable. America is fairly universal. Not only do they have people from all over the world, but their landscape is basically generic modern country.

China just has a shit ton of people, that's literally the only thing they have going for them. And it sucks. Yeah they have a massive GDP, but per capita its probably like Somolia-tier. I wish their economy would collapse already and they'd go back to being a 3rd world country.

About the only Chinese movies non-Chinamen or chinkaboos want to see are history and or Kungfu movies. But even then its limited. And its almost exclusively out of Hong Kong. Which will end soon as the PRC puts more and more control over them.

Except Western films are massive in Asia.
In Japan half the movies in the theater are American.

Maybe not in China where ghosts and time travel are banned. Or where if an actor says something good about the Dalai Lama all their movies are banned too.

I'd rather have Chinks than kikes rule the media desu. China will promote family values of some sort at least, but they'll still promote spreading Chinese genes.

>abortions
>telling people how many kids you can have
>no freedom

Just stop it you autistic fuck

My gf is Chinese and she wants me to move to a city near Beijing with her next year, is it a mistake?

if you like smog, the guvment looking over you all the time, using proxies everytime you use the internet then sure go ahead

What kind of job can you do in China? Do you want to deal with the pollution so bad you can barely see the sun, and a oppressive government that blocks sites and apps and will send you to jail if you try to google Tienanmen Square?

If you're staying long term then only move to coastal cities. Staying short term near Beijing is fine though.

>>telling people how many kids you can have

If the government hadn't clamped down on that shit we'd have even more chinks running around. There's more than enough as it is desu senpai.

But for real, China's population exploded and there's 1.3 billion of them WITH strict government control. Imagine what the population would be without the one child policy.

The language barrier makes it tough. American movies have a huge advantage in the global market thanks to roughly 300 years of the UK conquering different parts of the world, and forcing them to learn English and English culture. New Delhi, Lagos, Singapore, Hong Kong, Berlin....you can release an English-language movie in any of those cities and it will do just fine.

Mandarin, in addition to being spoken in just one country (and really just certain parts of that one country), is obscenely difficult to learn. It's hard to see it spreading around the world the way English did.

The reason the population exploded in the first place was because of the government.

>"Even if China's population multiplies many times, she is fully capable of finding a solution; the solution is production," Mao Zedong proclaimed in 1949. "Of all things in the world, people are the most precious." The communist government condemned birth control and banned imports of contraceptives.

The one child policy was only necessary because Mao encouraged population growth in the first place. Then, like most of his policies, it blew up in his face and his more intelligent successors had to pick up the pieces.

its really depressing seing white guys going to china thinking life will be sunshine and rainbows just because they can finally get laid easily

i actually think it gonna be funny
he gonna end up writing green text about how everything is awful there when he could have just stay the fuck home with other people already saying the same fucking thing b4

Straw Boss already did it

>how does that work even? do they copy all that shit beforehand?

If you're a major product or project manager, you produce allot of collateral, and often times, you don't want to give all "your" work over to the company.

Plus, you keep records of your work when you leave. All good pms do.

Americans are finished. China will dominate the arts and science like the last 2000 years. Nobody wants to watch Hollywood sequel #9999 or forced diversity crew #9999 with gays, spics, and spooks.

China already have their own Hollywood and it's glorious

>If they didn't have Tianamen square, their activists would have taken root culturally

You assume too much.

Fun Fact: if you search "tinamen square 1989 incident" in China, you'll get nothing.

No news articles. No blogs. Not even a fucking single mention of 1989.

That's how much control the CPC has over their internet.

>telling people how many kids you can have
One child policy officially ended in 2015, and it hadn't been strictly enforced for years before that.

yeah good
fuck freedom of speech
Fuck freedom

>Um, isn't one of the benefits of such a Communist and authoritarian government that while you don't have as much freedom, you at least don't have to worry about government corruption?

holy shit, this is a good laugh, but I'll give you ignorant white devils a pass.

always remember this:

nothing gets done in china without someone getting bribed.

>tfw starting learning chinese this year.

Fuck me it's hard.

Also, what's it like living in China as a foreigner? I may have to study there for a year.

Not sure how I'll handle it, I like to be alone and in China that seems largely impossible.

>nothing gets done in china without someone getting bribed.
even self masturbation?
...i don't believe you

Depends if you have any marketable skills. Plenty of companies have foreign offices in big cities like that. And there is always an expat community. Hopefully you're bi-lingual, at the very least you can get a job proofreading documents in English for them, or translating.

I don't know how easy it would be for you to get a visa if you don't have a job or aren't married to someone who does, or is a national.

dude, half the country is literally wilderness with fuck all people
you can have all the alone time if you want there, problem is if you come there to study or potentially getting a job then you have to live in a city

>My gf is Chinese and she wants me to move to a city near Beijing with her next year, is it a mistake?

How long does she plan to stay there? If she goes, she needs to do what she has to and then get out asap.

I would not go back to work even for 2x my current salary.

this would be cool and majestic view until you realize this isn't normal misty morning but literally fucking smog

reminds me of this famous video
Made lots of people butthurt

youtube.com/watch?v=P7Z2O9Nwt6c

I'll be there to study, so I'd be in a city.

And these pictures really don't do it justice...

Winter is usually beijing's worst plolluton season.

On a flyover stop, while INSIDE THE AIRPORT BUILDING, the pollution was so thick you could not see the other side of the building.

why don't they just make a really really really BIG vacuum and just suck all the smog out when they appear?

Should've dated a Korean or something. You blew it.

Inside buildings is often worse. They take in air but have no filters, so all the buildings end up acting like "particle traps".

The PM levels are often higher inside buildings than outside.

Beijing has a very, very large cancer epidemic going on right now that the government media is not telling people about.

There is a reason why China is projected to be the leading cancer research/treatment country within the next decade.

GODDAMN
CHINA GONNA BE THE REAL BLADE RUNNER SOON

mad jelly desu

>Not sure how I'll handle it, I like to be alone and in China that seems largely impossible.
You would be surprised. Like any other big city you learn to kind of block out everything. There's a lot of people, its a crush, but you can be as isolated as you want because all those other people are in their own little world as well. You learn an inner calm as your waist deep in a massive sea of Chinese. Its the little cultural idiosyncrasies that get you, like it is not at all impolite to gawk at things. As a wai guo you will be gawked at, just don't get self conscious or be an asshole, or smile and sai Ni Hao, maddafukka!

Try not to be a loud obnoxious foreigner, and when they see you trying to fit in with the locals, like eating their food, and learning the language, they're usually super friendly and helpful. Like you are still very much an outsider as a foreigner, but they don't make you feel bad about it.

I lived in Taipei, Taiwan for years, and got to travel all over east and southeast Asia. It's a very cool part of the world and with just a little bit of initiative it can be a really rewarding and educational experience.

>Then
Comfy Hou Hsiao-Hsien movie, ride bikes around with a cute girl in a long skirt.
>Now
Organ harvesters in puffer jackets hide in plumes of cancer fog waiting to take your corneas

>Organ harvesters in puffer jackets hide in plumes of cancer fog waiting to take your corneas

so they really want to push this cyberpunk agenda, cuz i remember organ harvesters/transplant is almost also a concurrence theme in most cyberpunk setting
fucking mad men the chinese

Jesus.

Seems like every one of you chinese that emmigrate hate the place.

hmmm really makes you think

The future is now.

Where was The Man from Nowhere when Asia needed him.

In the Asian world they kind of already are, but their sensibilities are too different from Western ones to export too well.

>In the Asian world they kind of already are,
idk man, culturally yeah since they have the longest history and affect on pretty much every neighbor countries

but for nowadays entertainment, i think korea has a pretty big reach that comparable to china

HK used to be huge when it come to tv and movies, nowadays i watch a new chow yun fat movie and i just want to kill him then shoot myself afterward

Do you know what city you'll be in already? There are big differences between the South and the North, the East and the West.

Generally though, if you're in a big city where they are used to tourists and foreigners everyone will just ignore you since you're just another laowei. If you're in a smaller town or area with barely any foreigners then expect people to look at you and talk to you in broken English and ask to take pictures with you, especially if you have blond hair/blue eyes.

There's two things you should learn to do before you go over.
>eating with chopsticks
>squatting

Basically you're a subhuman to them if you can't eat chopsticks. It'd be like seeing an adult man not being able to use knife and fork.

Squatting isn't that important, but people do squat around a lot when waiting (though you'll see it more with lower class people than upper class). When we were waiting for a train (me and my friend and a bunch of Chinese), all the Chinese started squatting, so me and my friend did too. Wasn't a problem for me but my friend kept falling over and the Chinese were having a right giggle at his inability to squat.

A lot of Chinese still assume that every Westerner is rich, so it can happen to you that girls with show interest in you purely for monetary reasons and then expect you to pay for them and buy them expensive shit. On the other hand I've had nights where I didn't have to pay for a single drink since random Chinese just wanted to share a drink with me and kept buying.

On the topic of drinking, they do it quite a bit differently. Basically, you fill the glass to the brim (be it beer or wine or whatever), raise the glass to the other person(s) and say "Gambei" (Cheers) then down the whole thing in one go. Rinse and repeat. They tend to get smashed pretty fast that way. I've seen Chinese business men take classes on how to enjoy wine properly like Western people do it.

Are there any chink flicks worth watching other than their martial arts ones?

This. HK and Taiwanese movies are the only semblance of Chinese films we have left

I'll have a selection of cities to choose from, such as Beijing, Shanghai and Quanzhou.

Would you recommend any one in particular?

There's a few really good ones:
A touch of Sin (banned in China lel)
Raise the Red Lantern
The Road Home
To Live

Do Hong Kong flicks count?
Chungking Express
Fallen Angels
In the Mood for Love

>In the Asian world they kind of already are

The chinese consume tons of korean pop and japanese media.

The japs and koreans however watch very few chinese shows.

When I was in Japan, last year, there has been a major wave of anti Chinese sentiment from chinese immigrants & busnessmen flooding into japan.

they see the chinese as uncultured, rude, selfish, volatile people. triggered by recent events of Chinese immigrants spitting & peeing on Tokyo public transit.

i'd say quanzhou personally
but im afraid that you will have problem communicating with other people
you need to understand china is a big country and different regions will have their own dialect and shit that will fuck you up even if your madarin is solid

I like HK cop/robber movies

Keep in mind this is based on personal experiences and bias

I would not recommend Beijing at all, smog is horrible around autumn. Guangzhou I would also not recommend but that's due to the hot and humid summers (can't stand the head that much). If you're fine with heat it's not that bad.

My personal favorites are Suzhou and Hangzhou. The summers are still hot (and humid) there but not quite as bad, air is breathable (though they have high smog levels on some days like all major cities) and the cities themselves are nice, especially Hangzhou. Personally I also really liked Qingdao due to the colonial heritage and me being German. There's cheap beer to have and they even have their own beer festival once a year which was good fun.

Like the other user mentioned every region has it's own dialect. You'll most likely be learning either Beijing or Shanghai Mandarin, so if you go somewhere far from these two then it can be difficult. Far South there's also many areas that still speak Cantonese.

I was more thinking about South-East and Central Asia.

Black Coal, Thin Ice
Assembly
Almost anything Zhang Yi-Mou / Jia Zhangke / Wang Xiaoshuai
Mountains May Depart
Getting Home
City of Life and Death

Generally no.

Anyone know of some sort of cute Chinese romantic movies?

I've always been a bit fond of asian romances. It's usually a lot more innocent and pure, which makes a nice change from the general sluttyness of the west. But I haven't really seen any Chinese ones.

>I was more thinking about South-East and Central Asia.

The recent anti-china sentiment is even worse there.

Doesn't help that China keeps building & developing weapons pointed at them in the south china seas.

The Chinese film industry produces nothing but cute Chinese romantic movies.

A NEW LIFE AWAITS YOU ON THE OFF-WORLD COLONIES!

But what are some of the good ones?

The one with the biggest box office? I'm not into romantic movies so i cant tell the good from the bad apart, chances are the most successful movie has been a success because it's good.

im pretty sure that every country that are close or next to china fucking hate china since their government acting like bully
yet you still have to do trade because they are probably the biggest trade partner in the world for many countries

>ywn be the reincarnation of a rebellious Chinese god who stalks plebs around so you can fuck with them in small ways

Thanks for the info, I'll keep it in mind.

try The Mermaid by stephen chow?
i downloaded that one but haven't watched it yet
desu most of stephen chow movies all have a romantic subplot

I've seen people talking about Devil and Angel (2015) lately.

Just stick to Korea and Japan, they can do it better.

Most Chink films are shit though.

South Korea though, they might be a small ass country but they consistently put out kino as fuck films.

Correction - everyone hates everyone else but you dont hear it in the West because unlike China those other countries are not threatening the Western dominated order - Japan tried and learned its lesson.
>SK hates Japan because forced prostitution
>NK hates Japan because it's NK
>Japan hates SK because they're not giving up about that whole war thing
>China hates Japan because muh 40 million dead during the war
>Japan hates China because... i have no idea, the Japanese were monsters towards the Chinese, fuck em
>Vietnam hates China because they have spent more years as part of China than as an independent country
>China doesnt really give a fuck about Vietnam
>Taiwan hates China because they're their own nation and totally not Han Chinese who have invaded >Formosa and ethnically cleansed the natives after Japan left
>China hates Taiwan because they keep hosting US troops
>Taiwan hates Japan because they were a colony of Japan
>Part of PH hates America because of the genocide while the other part loves America because of the genocide (killing rival tribes and all that)
>All of Asean hates itself for many reasons

It's all propaganda, from the position of a Japanese politician China claiming some lifeless rocks with nothing on them is super evil but thousands of Japanese girls getting raped by American troops stationed in Okinawa is unfortunate but something you have to live with.

That CGI looks like it came from one of the earlier series of the Power Rangers.

China sure has a lot of catching up to do.

Also consider what you want to see in China and Asia. If you pick a city near the coast you can easily travel everywhere, there's a fantastic high speed rail system connecting the east coast and you can fly to other countries like Japan and Korea. If you're further West the high speed rail becomes sparse, only linking the most important cities and you'll have to fly further to get anywhere. On the other hand you get a lot more nature if that's your kinda thing (I'd love to stay Szechuan for example).

I think you're making a bigger deal out of it as it is nowadays. There's still outright hatred that you can find amongst older people, but the younger generations don't have that big of a problem. I met a lot more Chinese/Japanese Chinese/Korean Korean/Japanese couples than I'd expect. Also people hating the Chinese government for being the regions Internet tough guy doesn't mean they hate the people.

>>everything has to be approved by the government
>>trend setter

how is that different from the way hollywood studios work? sure, they don't officially have to submit their proposed projects to congress but it's still a near endless process of getting approval from the higher ups, and don't think for a second that politics doesn't play into what films gets greenlit and which disappear in a drawer...

That Blade Runner vibe tho.

>I think you're making a bigger deal out of it as it is nowadays.

The Vietnamese are still butthurt about China occupying the countries in the 1400s.

That's 600 years of butthurt, still active, it's not going anywhere.

Wasn't there something about the Vietnamese wanting to be called something like "Southern China" and the Chinese then named them "South of China"? I can't remember the details or which dynasty.

not to mention the whole south china sea that still going on today about how china claim pretty much everything belong to them

I love seeing Viets got apeshit at Chinese posters on Cred Forums and Cred Forums.

If china is so badass, why are they scared of tiny vietnam.

>centre of global art culture and entertainment
>eats dog

I think it's more of a "why fight when you can dominate them economically" mentality. They're similar to our big nosed merchant friends.

Like Korea only some parts in China eat dog, and that's getting less nowadays as dogs become more common as pets. There's a growing movement of people protesting the consumption of dogs and cats.

>china is still butthurt about the europeans mashing their opium peen in their butts

Their hundred year strategy got defrocked by a few fools and a market spoofer, their economy went..hey where did the floor go..

rut ro

It predates the war. Even during the American-Vietnam war there were North Vietnamese generals going crazy over receiving supplies from China.

Even today - USA killing 3 million Viets and poisoning vast amounts of land leading to misformed babies even today? Not as bad as China!!!!

And people think European nationalism is crazy.

How is it different from eating pig?

That video of the people leaving that dead woman just chilling in the street wasn't creepy at all.

I can understand that considering it is working pretty well for them but it also seems to be making enemies of their neighbors.

I mean yeah we were assholes to mexico and canada but it would be like us trying to push them around today instead of setting up free trade deals that fuck our workers over.

In the West dogs occupy a privileged position among household animals.

In the muslim world literally no one gives a fuck because everyone hates dogs anyway.

Meanwhile in India cows are holy - would you eat a hamburger made out of your reincarnated grandma?

You know people that keep pigs as pets? Where are you living? Alabama?

>That video of the people leaving that dead woman just chilling in the street wasn't creepy at all.

They don't have good Samaritan laws in China. If you try to help someone, they might just end up suing you afterwards for damages. It's completely retarded and that's why you won't see Chinese people helping strangers.

There's also the problem that if you hurt someone, you'll have to cover all their medical bills and such (if you're just a poor laborer you're fucked). On the other hand if they die you'll just be paying their funeral. This is why you can find videos of a dude accidentally hitting a child with his car and then deliberately driving over it again to ensure it's dead. It'll be easier for him later to claim "I didn't see it" and just pay for the poor kid's funeral.

Well they have Hong Kong. The mainland is creatively bankrupt tho

Dude, just imagine some faggot that control you for over 1000 years then you finally escape from him. And now he still keep trying to bullying you every chance he get and steal shit from you.
That is pretty much the history of the 2 countries.
The problem that not many people in the west care or know is that since china claim everything south of them belong to them, so they have their warship or whatever the fuck going around and kill innocent fishermen just because.

You know what Ho Chi Minh said when he was still alive? The western people occupy the country now but one day they will live but if it was the chinese then they will never leave. And on that he was completely right despite how would you think about him as a communist or whatever.

The US or whatever country is far far away, china is right next to you and constantly trying to fuck you over.

Hong Kong till 2026 - Yes
China - No

That makes sense and is horrifying.

The Swiss eat dogs and cats, yet they're a major centre of global finance

bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/article/30205410/stop-eating-cats-and-dogs-say-animal-rights-campaigners-in-switzerland

Clooney has (had?) a pet pig.

The one irony when studying vietnam war at university is finding out the communists wanted to model their constitution on the U.S constitution.

While we freely helped people like the Soviet union. Someone better hope their isn't intrinsic value tied into the universe for actions committed.

I remember some guy on Cred Forums or Cred Forums was telling a story about how he found a Dutch guy that got hit in the street and had a massive head wound. He brought him to a Chinese hospital, where the doctors checked him out and asked user to pay cash for the Dutch dude's checkup. Afterwards they said he needs to stay in the hospital for a week in case his brain starts to bleed, but as user had no cash left the doctor suddenly changed his mind, said it'll be fine and dismissed them both.

China is basically cucking the jews anyway.

>Y'know, our audiences love your shitty movies, maybe you could put a Chinese actor or two in them?

2 percentage points is the margin of error when polling but they think 3 percent people secretly eat animals that are considered pets. 3 percent, "secretly" so you get a few chucklefucks that jokingly say they're eating cats and some sperg goes crying about eating them?

I'd be more inclined that people that gave information to animal rights weirdos were getting fucked with.

Ask yourself and that article, how would they find out about 3 percent of people in switzerland secretly eating dogs and cats. It is a nonsense article to push an agenda.

see

>You know what Ho Chi Minh said when he was still alive?

Literally relativizing the murder of 4 million of your own people.

In other countries he would have gotten lynched by an angry mob but it's an East Asian countries where everyone defers to authority and accepts whatever they do because muh saving face.

>Cat appears on traditional Christmas menus in some areas of Switzerland.

If restaurants have been serving them for centuries then there's bound to someone ordering them.

Well in the declaration of independence wrote by Ho in 1945, he did reference both the french and the american constitution in it about how men are created equal and have the rights for freedom.

He also asked Truman for help but of course got ignored just like they did to many people before until it all blow in their face later.

>The problem that not many people in the west care or know
Ausfags know. Sometimes we fly military planes though pretend Chinese territory without warning just to make them buttmad.

We do have to consider that it's been barely 50 years ago that Mao pulled a reverse Seed of the Emperor and 60 million people died of starvation. Back then the only way to survive was to take care of your family and fuck over everyone else. It's gonna take decades for this mentality to disappear.

...

NEVER EVER.

It's Hollywood's fault for dumbing down movies to the point where politically repressed propaganda pushers can compete with them.

Dogs have developed specialized social patterns that they use for interactions with humans, that they don't use for interacting with any other species, including other dogs.

Because of this, dogs are excellent companions of humans and have been used to help hunting parties and farmers for millenia now.

Pigs are animals that roll around in mud and eat garbage. If you can't see the difference, I'd suggest killing yourself.

Pigs are also intelligent animals that we use for specialized searching tasks.

most chinks know about tianenenfgtremn square

the firewall is not to censor but rather to force chinks to use chinese websites and services

Can you give me an example? I'm not aware of this.

Obviously they know about it, but the Chinese government suppresses any criticism or discussion of it, to prevent another incident from happening. How is this not censorship?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Truffle_hog

Yes censoring free tibet websites so Chinese use their own native free tibet websites

kill yourself

free what?

When Hollywood steers away from depicting time travel, ghosts, and Tibet just because it's "subversive," it will be a good look at what Chinese cinema can bring us.

Currently, I can only think of one franchise that does anything even remotely close to that.

It says in the article, though, that truffle hogs are often kept as pets, and not eaten, therefore I rest my case; if an animal provides a valuable service and/or is specialized for interacting with us, then we don't eat them.

>I wish their economy would collapse already and they'd go back to being a 3rd world country.

All we need to do to trigger this is to quit buying the ridiculously cheap and inferior shit they are mass producing. I really don't need a $25 coffeepot if the fucking thing breaks after 4 months of use. I'd much rather spend $100 for a coffeepot from, say, Germany that will last for 20 years.

If I find out a product is from China or any other assorted shithole, I don't buy it, not because of the quality but purely because I don't want to support those countries.

Good luck getting millenials to do the same, however, they don't give a shit where something comes from as long as they can get it for cheap.

Another problem is with future free-trade deals, it could become illegal to declare certain products were made in China making it a lot harder to differentiate.

>not realizing we've been doing this forever

in the 50s it was japan producing tons of cheap shit. Its just what we do. We go to places, help setup businesses and export cheap shit back to our country.

the skype golem must be destroyed first

And how's that going for us in the long run? The manufacturing base in the U.S. has been decimated over the last 50 or 60 years. If an event like WWII happened today, we'd be in huge trouble because the massive manufacturing base which we converted to produce war materiel in the 40's doesn't exist today. We're digging our own grave.

...

the rich business owners dont care m8, as long as his pocket is stuffed you gonna use your chinese made mickey mouse toothbrush, and wear spongebob squarepant underwear for the next 100 years

The US defence/military industrial complex is the only one in the entire would which could see boots on the ground in 24 hours in any location, with a good supply chain and ability for long term combat.

Hollywood studios go by whatever makes good PR approval whereas the Chinese government basically show you what they want you to see

I was going to say, we propped up a merc army twice the size of our actual army for shits and giggles when we were fighting in two countries at once, when in reality we were fighting in close to 14 different places for over a decade.

I'm not worried about our war capacity. Our debt is more a burden to our fighting capacity than our ability to make shitty plastic m-16's and m4s.

Economic warfare will be the dominant form of warfare, that includes cyber, 4/5th estate attacks and asymmetrical warfare in general.

You don't find it odd that china was making noise and suddenly their economy took a massive tumble? Forcing the government to inject massive resources to stabilize their already heavily controlled market?

That wasn't an accident.

A few boots on the ground and a few aircraft carriers aren't going to do shit against 100 million heavily armed chinese. Just wait another 20 or 30 years to see China swarm the rest of Asia while the U.S. stands by with their dicks in their hands. In the 1950's, the chinese government devised a 100 year plan. They are 60 years into it and right on track. They are biding their time until they are ready to dominate. Screencap this and in 2040 remember where you heard it first.

Ok I screencap

christ your ignorance is astounding, you seem to poses an elementary knowledge of chinese economic history.

freebeacon.com/national-security/chinas-secret-strategy-exposed/

china hasn't exactly been quiet about this plan. The difference is projecting power other than your region which china has never done well ever.

Treasure fleet comes to mind, isolationism, opium wars. If you took a snap shot of their world history, it would be an embarrassment to call them underperformers on the world stage.

I agree they will be a force to be reckoned with but I also think that was the plan all along.

As a nation we need an enemy to define ourselves. Without that we tend to go astray in terms of how we handle ourselves and the world. Government's need enemies to justify their existence.

Various doctrines that have been used over last 50 years have all born this out. So the china's and the russia's of the world have their place in the global economy.

If you look at how china is handling itself though, it seems to think it will be a british/u.s type of hand off whereas we've already bracketed their economy to our benefit.

China is playing by western rules, communism failed. Which means fundamentally, we can never lose now. Or rather the elites can't but you get the idea.
