I know one that scared me so bad I don't even wanna post it

...

lol u pussy
get laid

i laid ur momma last night while ur daddy watched

thats rite mike

...

This poster was at my Blockbuster when I was a kid. I was afraid they were in my toilet.

This, except with Ghoulies I. The knife.

I don't remember any that scared me as a kid, but this one scared me now.

everytime

Ditto. Made me afraid it was going to pop outta the toilet.

Was Born in 55

Fear and Loathing did.

...

How was this movie, btw?

...

10/10 score

I wouldn't say it scared me so much as every time I saw the tape cover at the rental I thought it might be this really fucking scary flick that I would have nightmares from watching.

>Corbin Bernsen
Yeah, this doesn't look scary at all.

What a disappointment when that snake/worm demon thing never actually is in the movie slithering around. Just this cheap mouth special effect and a dude with no legs wearing a costume in a couple of shots.

Still, it's an evocative cover/poster that still puts today's posters to shame.

Race mixing/10

...

Being a kid in the 1980s was pure horror. The internet really has taken the piss out of being a kid.

There was one poster of a movie that came out around 1990 - 1993 that freaked me out. Close up face with a man might-of had a green cap on, anyone know what I'm talking about?

>dat nursery rhime tag line

What has happened to movies these days?

?

this movie is an insane fever dream

...

pls no bully

Everytime, right at the back of my old dvd shop. I must have been 9 or 10.

Still am yet to see it, 21 now

That triggered me so much, but thanks for finding that I appreciate it.

like why
how was this legal

I remember walking through the video store and going straight to the horror films, to get spooked by the covers. Digital fags are missing out.

Malevolent shit like this makes me uneasy still

>made for tv Disney beetlejuice knockoff
t-huh?

The OG Fright Night was fucking fantastic when it cane out

The back cover always freaked me out.

This

Always thought it was some hellish Dale gribble as a snake

Glad I could be of assist. I know I like reaching closure with vague memories myself.

I always thought it was James in the giant peach guy

...

Millennials will never know the feeling of perusing a video rental store in the 80's and seeing this box art...

This was in the back cover of The Serpent and the Rainbow. Used to give me the chills.

...

Kek, that's spot on.

Millenial here, yes I do?

Been meaning to rewatch this.

Someone's dick got bit off in this one.

No mention of IT so far?

...

>ywn again walk through the horror section in a video store to look at all the cool horror movie covers

You mean Gen Z? I swear you guys gotta think of a catchy name for those fags

Not often you can say this but the remake was awesome.

IT and Silence of the lambs for me

Fucking A

Join me, user. Let's escape from this world. Let's escape from the current year and go back in the only way we're allowed to, if only for a short time.

The Blob
The Fly
Invasion of the Body Snatchers
The Thing

I dare anyone to name any more good Sci-Fi or Horror remakes besides those four.

Totally freaked me out as kid too user. Didn't actually see it til I was older, instant favorite it was. Remake was warranted but unnecessary.

DELETE THIS

Fantastic. It's still relevant today. A bit heavy handed about socialism but comes at African Americans, whites, jews and everyone else pretty hard

Those are some of the shittiest shits to ever be shat.

Dawn of the Dead faggot

"Pieces" in the lower left corner caught my eye. The cover made it look cool as shit but the movie was awful, looked like it had a budget of 400 bucks.

The Crazies

same here

...

Fright Night and Evil Dead were good horror remakes although the original movies are far better. The Crazies was pretty much on the same level as the original movie if not better but that isn't saying much since the original is just a 7/10.

Never heard of it. What's it about, you or your boyfriend?

Solid remake although it's nowhere near as good as the original.

When I saw this on a billboard while playing crackdown, I nearly had a heart attack cause I was already terrified of the commercials

this

and this

This thread really makes me miss going to West Coast video on Friday.

...

Doesn't help my step-dad thought it would be funny to play this movie. It made me permanently afraid of dolls

spooky

is this b8?

I just watched hell night on youtube. half the movie is Linda Blair screaming and jiggling her cleavage and at one point the police naturally don't believe someone that there's a killer on the loose, so he sneaks up to the second floor of the police station to where there's an open room full of loaded automatic weapons just sitting on a table, steals one and then climbs out a window with it

also watched Texas chainsaw 3. complete shit

ayy lmao

my sides have left the sphere

that movie was pure kino desu senpai

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3 is pretty bad but it's not bad compared to what came afterwards. The Next Generation is a hilariously awful mess and all of the remakes/prequels/reboots are extremely dull and generic.

but the front cover looks fun

I don't watch modern horror remakes, definitely not platinum dunes ones, so i guess im safe. I also watched the piece of crap that was pumpkin head 2 right before it and realized they had the same director. ick

Fuck you, anons. Nigger dolls possessed with slave spirits eating you is terrifying to an 7 year old.
youtube.com/watch?v=Z86Tuc_zOWU

The Pumpkinhead franchise has really suffered. Most horror franchises have at least one decent sequel that got a theatrical release, every Pumpkinhead sequel is wretched made for TV garbage.

Anything with Chucky on it terrified me as a kid.

...

...

Came here to post this.

This one intrigued me more than anything as a child. It always reminded me of that scene in Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey when the robo-versions of Bill and Ted unmask themselves.

Fucking nightmarish

> I was afraid they were in my toilet.

They were.

So many memories doing .

I wouldn't say they scared me, but they always drew my attention when browsing.

Dafuq?

...

this

always thought it was some weird alien shit. but then i learned how to read

this.

I thought it was some weird ass alien movie.. but then i learned how to read

this cover made me feel intellectually inferior as a kid

And thats why I was afraid of clowns.

Pic related looked like an evil Robin Williams and it freaked me out.

...

The Night of the Demons covers use to fuck. me. up.

this

Hell yeah, I loved Night of the Demons

>that lipstick boob disappearing act

The remake with Shannon Elizabeth they did a few years back was awful

This one, or one that was extremely similar. Girl with mouth agape and long stringy teeth. At least I thought it was teeth at the time since it was on the top shelf. It was on the first fucking shelf when you walked into the local videostore.

This was in Sweden in the 90's. I haven't seen the cover since.

Great scene lol And yes, the remake is quite atrocious.

The Rumpelstiltskin ( 1995 ) cover use to get me too

I hated walking down the movie shop aisle and seeing this cover. I'd turn my head, if I accidentally glanced at it I'd get goosebumps. Also Tremors. Grossed me out.

i liked the remake, i don't know what i expected but it was pretty much a basic as fuck horror movie and entertained me all the way through.

Remember when black doctor ate Jason's heart... yeah that was bad ass

You're not missing out on much.

forgot pic like an idiot

wtf happened with the howling?
>first one is gritty, atmospheric movie about a journalist being terrorized by a hidden community of werewolves
>sequels immediately go off the rails
that gif just can't be from howling 3, it looks like they glued hair to one of the mst3k robots

black doctor played hostettler on deadwood too

I'm sorry you had to find out this way.

Goddamn. This movie blows. I had just watched basket case and street trash and was pretty excited for it too, what a disappointment. it's just so lame

howling 2 is a guilty pleasure if not just for biff rockgroin, chrisopher lee in ridiculous 80s shades, Sybil danning's hirsuite softcore porn scenes and the crazy rock video at the end, but the series in general went full camp retardedness right off the bat

this skelerton doesn't even show up in the flick

do you have any specific points because I really like Larry Cohen movies and they're nothing like the other two you listed

The VHS cover of this creeped me out, but the movie was fine

>YOU KNOW WHY THEY CALL ME "MO"?
>'CAUSE WHEN PEOPLE GIVE ME MONEY, I ALWAYS WANT MO'.

Did anyone else go to the video store as a kid and looked at all the horror movie covers?

Anyone know what this fonts called? Like the river,, or Mac Demarco 2. Shits nice

Quality thread.

is this the one where he has to make a girl fall in love with him? I like that one I call it "Wish master in Love"

No it was so long ago, I just remember fighting to stay awake during it, but The reason I strung the three together though was because 80s NYC directors, not direct movie themes

Magnificent, and Ennio Morricone's score will make you burst into treats.

Millenials grew up during the 90s idiot, my local videostore was up until 2010ish. RIP California Video, we didn't even live in Cali.
