It's actually pretty great, season one was mostly about Gordon versus mobs, gangsters and corrupt cops. Kinda suprised how little screentime young Bruce & Selina had right until season 2.
The premise itself wasn't as ridiculous as I expected if you can ignore Batman who won't be showing up in another 15 years or so. Still a better concept than Krypton starring literally who

I'd say it progressed the same way like Arrow did, right it until it all came crashing down with season 3 and onwards.

I'm hopeful season 3 would still be promising.

i did the same thing and i was pleasantly surprised of the show, i went in with very low expectations and ended up loving almost everything about it. it perfectly nails the cozy feeling i always had about gotham and all the characters and villains involved
