How does killing the emperor redeem vader?

How does killing the emperor redeem vader?
He was responsible for the deaths of billions

It was just a space prank bro

To save trillions

For what? Only like 30 more years until TFA trilogy.

Vader was just a goon just following orders.

What a hero he was to stand up to the Emperor like that. He would be considered Ghandi-tier IRL.

It's just stupid fanservice.Imagine if Star Wars films were made for adults.

He didn't blow up Alderaan, Tarkin did.

He brought balance to the force, like the prophesy said he woud

I admit Star Wars was always shaky in its morality, but Vader saving his son at the cost of his own life is one of the more memorable parts of cinema.

Assuming "the force" is the metaphysical reality in that universe, Vader legitimately feeling bad for being selfish and sincerely self-sacrificing probably had the same effect as a sincere "death-bed conversion" does (theoretically) in Christianity.

It would be space-fantasy-westernkino

>but Vader saving his son at the cost of his own life

That's not why he did it. It was the prophecy

...

this

>tfa
>canon

How darker can it get? They destroyed 3-4 planets with millions of people and aliens. Do we really need to see them die in Barefoot Gen style?

Ironic. Isn't it?

That's like saying: Hitler hadn't killed millions of people, his soldiers did

Except Vader was far from the leader. He was just a lacky of Sheeeeeev

That's true though

Delete EX2MACHINA2, C3PO and Chewbacca.Make Vader actually frightening.Make Jabba humanoid or something looks intimidating and charismatic.Add Boba Fett action.

Noone gives a fuck about Alderaan.

Also remember Tarkin, the best part of New Hope?

Cushing's the what went right with ANH.

Tarkin wasn't under Vader's command so that doesn't work. Sidious is Hitler in your analogy.

So who is the tarkin of nazi germany?
Himmler?

Vader knew that and had to tell Luke to let him go.

It's bullshit he was allowed force ghost privileges though. Qui-gon didn't even teach him how to do it.

That's just how morality works in childrens movies. Vader did a good thing, so he's a good guy now because only good people can do good things.

No, Vader was Sheev's second in command, so he would be Himmler. Tarkin was a Grand Moff, which was a governor or a priority region. He was in command of the Death Star, however, and Vader respected his orders.

You can trivialize every sacrifice ever made with the same logic

>that man in 1931 Shanghai saved 3 kids from a burning building at the cost of his own life
>for what? Only like 6 more years until the Japanese invade and murder everyone

prequels are not canon

That retarded lunatic spent time looking for the 13th tribe of judiaism. He would have been a hill person in America if he was born there. Germany invested in dirt people when they went first nazi. The military leadership that was mostly aristocracy looked at them like livestock. But they had control of the mob, so the high born shut their mouths.

It doesn't redeem him, it saves him because he's able to die as a person who has renounced the Dark and remembered the Light.

>No, Vader was Sheev's second in command, so he would be Himmler

Himmler was a fanatic who was even more extreme than Hitler, though. I'm not sure if there's an equivalent for him in the movies (maybe in the EU?) Vader didn't quite share the Emperor's enthusiasm for evil, he was more of a military guy. If he's anyone, it's Goering.

>That retarded lunatic spent time looking for the 13th tribe of judiaism. He would have been a hill person in America if he was born there.

Yeah, he was a moron. He thought nuclear physics was "Jewish science", and forbade Heisenberg from teaching people anything discovered by Einstein.

Starting in ESB when Vader was retconned to be Luke's father, the idea is that his true nature was that of a good person but he was constantly betraying himself for the dark. That's why Luke is able to appeal to his inner sense of good throughout those movies, so in the very end Vader's betrayal of the Emperor is a return to form.

IF YOU DONT SHARE OUR ENTHUSIAM AND DARKNESS FOR THE EMPIRE...

GET OUT

I ALREADY FORCE CHOKED YOU! YOU'RE DONE!

I think it was "Vader did a good thing, proving that he's not completely evil and had something good in him after all". Even in death, he's not a good person, just not fully evil.

And in the EU, Luke is the only person who forgives him. He tries to do that force ghost thing and talk to Leia and she tells him to fuck off.

Not in the first Star Wars.

In the first Star Wars, Tarkin has more power and authority than Vader. He bosses Vader around. Even Leia points out that Vader is little more than Tarkin's lapdog.

Vader only becomes the Emperor's right-hand man after Tarkin's death.
