Opinions on Persona?

Opinions on Persona?

I thought it was fuckin amazing but I only saw it once and sometimes I change my mind when I see movies a second time

What a nothing post.

i have never played any of them but there's lots of good porn

>the beach story

3>4

...

Unnecessary but we're talking about degenerate swedecucks I guess.

One of the most boring things I've seen in my life. The opposite of entertainment.

...

I didn't like it.

I liked it.

one of bergman's most visually imaginative, but also one of the worst from his 60's work
probably because it's full of surface symbolism at times and i felt it was very loose in other aspects
also personal preference but i don't like films like this or winter light

Sorry I don't know shit about movies

or bunuels work

2 deep 4 mi

lol are you retarded? their both the same woman... you figure out the wrist....

no bully plox

Can someone explain this to me?

I saw this after watching Seventh Seal but I feel like I didn't quite grasp what it was trying to say? Can anyone indulge me?

I feel like that happened on screen, the whole movie is dreamlike. It's why I don't really want to rewatch it.
Compelling discussion.

We're all actors :)

>Compelling discussion
>posts asinine remark

wew

Sorry, I didn't mean to offend anyone, I just thought it was funny.

4 was pretty shit

...

Loved the imagery and the feel of it all and was really entertained if not confused.

Are you being ironic or is that literally what you got from the film?

What? Persona isn't a comedy you absolute dolt, Christ.

Sorry bro watched it high like 3 years ago. Was there anything else to it?

literally softcore porn
Its aged horribly as far as im concerned
All these films obsessed with being as a blatantly sexual as possible are unfortunately impossible to understand in a modern sense with all the hypersexualization of media. Films like Persona are just obsolete

Come on, that one part when she's talking about sex lol

Boring, pointless woman drama. Utter garbage.

probably one of his best scripts.
I like how it eases into the power relationship, starting off all innocuous: it's a psychological thriller, a definitive psychological thriller.

If you're into "muh allegories" then looking at it from a Jungian perspective it gives you a lot of fodder, but I just like it as a dramatic arc, I like it just as two people getting progressively more and more in one-another head

Probably one of my fav films.

>Jungian perspective
Never thought of this. Haven't read much about the movie, but it makes me want to see it again.

Back in college I wrote an essay about how Persona is an example of I think it's called a "Demter-Persephone complex" and that if you look at the nurse as fulfilling the role of a therapist it's an example of what's called "counter-transference" I came to this conclusion because of like the Beach monologue and all that stuff, where she finally has an open ear and she starts just pouring all of her inner shame on LIv Ullman's character.

I mean it's all intellectual mumbo jumbo, I just like it as a kind of spider dance ya know?
Especially near the end when the roles get switches, and I don't mean in a meta-formalist one actor plays the role of the other bullshit, I mean in a more realistic, sociological sense where the dynamic between these two people, the behaviors they exhibit are changed by a internal change in circumstance.

I think it's quite perceptive, like when you have your friend who when he's out with the boys is one of the boys, but becomes a totally different person around his girlfriend.
Or when you see your friend whose usually lose as a goose all professional and switched on in their work.

Shit like every other Bergman movie.

Fucker is the Nolan of his generation.

Chie is best girl

I haven't played it yet, how's 5?

nah izanami is tbqh

Not him but that's an awesome read.

Have you seen 3 Women and Mulholland Dr?

Not as relative, but have you seen Mancholia?
