I thought it was just okay. The whole cult secret club scene was really cool though.

It was a "horror" movie done right- not frankly scary, but pegged the themes of infidelity and paranoia fantastically. It moreso captures an unsettling fear of "what if"- what if there are satanic pleasure cults running the world, what if my wife is cheating on me, etc etc. It also helps that it was generally entertaining.

Probably Kubricks best movie. His emphasis on only using natural lighting in shots gives it a great visual experience.

Im a lightingfag, so I really enjoy movies like this and Only God Forgives, although Im attempting to get into more cultured as far as cinematography goes.

It gets better after each watch, until you realize it's Kubrick's best

It's great

>Im a lightingfag
What does that mean exactly? You like films with natural lighting or do you like neon-core?

Kubricks purest kino

As in the usage of both is what intrigues me most about movies. Think of a movie like Collateral. It did fantastic capturing the feeling of night time LA. Same thing with Alien, the non use of lighting made the Nostromo a scary environment. Sadly I think Im too much of a pleb to discern lighting choices unless its very obvious.

>Think of a movie like Collateral. It did fantastic capturing the feeling of night time LA.
So true, i remember being a teenager and watching it for the first time and it blew my mind how atmospheric and good it looked. Same thing with Miami vice, Mann is great at it. I take it you like Noe, Trier and Argento as well?

saw it recently it absolutely fucking owns. give cruise a damn oscar already

Ironically the only thing I've seen from Noe is the rape scene from Irreversible. Melancholia wasnt bad at all, though.

>what is your opinion on this masterpiece?
Too long. Bad acting. Interesting scenes. 6/10

Was anything meant by this?

kubrick did 9/11

this movie defines pleb filter

if you didn't like it, then you are a pleb

How many essays has Rob Ager written about those two tennis rackets?

>professional critics are on average more plebeian than the general viewing public and are holding us all back
this is making too much sense.

This. If you've ever had a partner then the punch in the gut that the dream scene is far more scary than any shitty monster or ghost.

Both its main plot and its "symbolism" can be examined for ages.

Yes. The entire film is rooted in symbolism of the masculine and feminine forces, which are what the majority of masonic and other esoteric dualities are also about.

The entire movie is a sex ritual, from the way that Kubrick inspired real relationship doubts in an a-list couple, to it being marketed as an erotic thriller, to obvious and less obvious symbolism throughout.

I loved it, i am old enough to remember all the outrage that happened when it came out. Fmj is my #1 of his then this or shining, clockwork was probably more meaningfully intense in its day.

I thought everyone knew this? Film critics are rarely cinephiles and more often than not plebs who think they like film and can sort of write.
If you met 25 film critics and asked their favorite film they'd probably give you pleb shit

My favorite movie. Literally represents my greatest fears, and I think it can be drawn to do the same for the whole of the American people (or anyone spectating what's going on).

There's an underworld that goes deeper than the 99% will ever be able to comprehend, until it's too late. And most people are just like cruise and Kidman in the store at the end. Shit, it's all they can ever be; the separation is pretty much irreversible at this point, no matter what miracles a democracy can accomplish.

But that's besides the point. I don't watch it for the political commentary, but for that indulgence in the mystery. The world from which there are no written books. Kubrick perfectly taps into that.

its pure kino, perhaps the purest

If Cred Forums likes it then it's shit.

So yeah, it's absolute shit.

kidman is really really awful in this. cruise is fine.

Was fucking stressed the whole time

Slightly disappointed that we never got to see what's up with the illuminati sex party stuff again after he got kicked out

But all in all it was a really good movie AND very fapworthy

what else did you want to see? i didn't feel like i needed to watch any more. it was a bunch of rich influential people having a degenerate ritual orgy

I thought she was fine aside from the beginning of the bedroom confession scene where it seemed like she was really, really over-exaggerating the effects of weed.

kys you'd normally be right but come one man.............

the whole conversation they have in the bedroom is horrible due to her. cruise in that scene seemed like he was getting legit frustrated with her awful acting.

lol kubrick got what he wanted

If it was Baldwin/Bassinger it could've been the GOAT

greatest movie ever after The Matrix

Kidman was hot

>Don't know about Monarch Programming

>Given his penchant for accuracy, it’s quite possible that Kubrick wanted to stir up some real-life jealousy between his stars in order to help them embody their characters. In a fantasy sequence, Kidman’s character has sex with another man, which motivates the rest of the film’s plot. Kubrick banned Cruise from the set on the days that Kidman shot the scene with a male model. They spent six days filming the one-minute scene. Kubrick also forbid Kidman from telling Cruise any details about it.

Damn Kubrick was a cold bastard

Are you telling us she was brainwashed into bad acting her scenes?

The whole subtext of the film is The Elite and their penchant for Monarch Programming and Child Trafficking.

not them, yes. but what does that mean about alice, does she symbolize or is she supposed to be monarch

She was a monarch kitten. The weed triggered an episode and so did the party when the older dude is twirling her and using keywords to trigger her.

It's pretty fucked up what he was trying to tell us.

Now substitute the women with children. That's what actually goes on at those parties.

All those cunnies, lost in time, like tears in rain.

Well i thought maybe tom cruise had been seduced by the decadence involved and wanted to join, and given his wife's fantasies, I thought they were both maybe gonna try to join, and I was excited about that

Not really the movies fault at all, it was my personal disappointment

one of the best and most underrated films

whats the evidence he meant children, besides the costume shop scenes, what in the film visually

I'm merely drawing parallels to the info dug up during the pedowood threads way back when on Cred Forums where it was discovered that the elites are buried up to their necks in this child business.

Look up Jeffery Epstein and the "Lolita Express" to get an idea.

Also in the movie, remember in the costume shop that guy's daughter who looked like 14 or 15 was with those two guys? IIRC that was the primary symbol of the underage aspect going on.

>>Im a lightingfag
>What does that mean exactly?
it means he likes getting his bum thundered

I don't get it.

hahahaha!!!

underrated

David?

>projecting.txt

You people that read EWS as Kubrick trying to tell the public about mind controlled sex slaves owned by a cabal of the worlds elite need to kys.

It's a movie about perception versus reality.

I see through your lies Bill. You can't fool me.

ok, devils advocate here not them.

why would kubrick want to do a film on perception vs. reality?

Kubrick was also part of hollywood, and hollywood is notorious for its paedophilla. I think it was Elijah Wood that said theres some very seedy shit going on that people dont know about?

Because he's a great artist addressing the human condition.

Kubrick made one film in Hollywood. One.

how come literally nothing has been documented and released then? would a publication even run it

with cellphones you would think something could be blown open

fair enough

he filmed most of his stuff in london yea?

Do you not realize just how utterly powerful and connected Hollywood is? You even attempt to let anything slip and you're in a world of potential shit.

And believe me, Hollywood is only the middle of the Iceberg. I guarantee if you go deeper, you'll find many of our politicians, elected officials, and media heads are just as implicated and guilty.

Shit's fucked up but nobody will address because it's literally the ultimate blackmail tool.

It my favorite movie

If people posting on Cred Forums really believe that David Icke shit, then the internet, evaluated as culture, failed. You're believing the most flyover-state retarded shit ever written on a geocities page, while posting at meme central. This is bleaker than Jeffrey Epstein.

Mostly in the studios just outside London.

>the older dude is twirling her and using keywords to trigger her.
So what happened? Why didn't it work?

are you saying theres no child sex stuff

i understand but someone could happen on something without being too connected

hey Bryan

Not really possible. You're never going to see the true underworld unless you're already a member of the tribe.

But the world around the rumor mill is the RDJ is leaking quite plausible info about the back dealings under a pseudonym on a blog site. No confirmation, but seems likely.

RDJ is one of the good guy's in Hollywood.

This. EWS is fantastic but one of the most frustrating films to discuss, simply because people are convinced it's focused on something it's not. The book it's based on says it all with the title, 'Dream Story'.

It's about sexuality, infidelity and the ego of men.

Kubrick's best film

Yes, not on the scale you're talking about.

No, someone posted a bunch of stuff which they clumsily tried to make people think was RDJ several years ago. RDJ would have been smarter than to give such incredibly blatant pointers to his identity.

did they kill the junkie model or not?

>Nicole Kidman will never go pee in front of you

jdimsa ;_;

What does Rob Ager say about the pee?

That's left to us to decide. I don't think they did, because the whole film's theme seems to indicate that. It's a film about a couple not cheating on each other, it's appropriate that the model didn't die. On the other hand, maybe she did and monogamy is really that much safer than the world outside. Either of those would work.

in the newspaper article where he TC finds out she's dead, you can somewhat see where it says she arrived home escorted by 2 men. So idk, i believe that they did kill her.

i dont remember the movie since i watched it a few years ago

but didnt she die? tom cruise was told by the old guy that they didn't hurt her. but then he read some news article about her dying

she'll be fine

A lot are indeed nothing but shills. Anybody old enough to remember Joel Siegel? Back when most people still go their news from newspapers, you could always count on Joel to offer a positive sound bite for a movie that was utter shit. "The feel-good movie of the year!" etc.

No honest, educated critic would ever say anything positive about some of the garbage that used Siegel's quotes in their advertising.

Naïve. Murphy's Law. That which can happen will.
It's safe to say that if the idea of such an event could be softy alluded to (and with 'softly' I'm being generous), then without a doubt it has, likely at scale.

Even if that isn't enough, try the millions upon millions individuals estimated to be captive in the human slave trade in the United States alone. Hell, if priests in the Vatican are fucking little boys like wild, why draw the line at rich men with even more resources?

Eyes Wide Shut has a low 70 something on Rotten Tomatoes
Ghostbusters 2016 has the same
The Force Awakens has a 96
And finding dory and zootopia are in the 90s

great movie 10/10

>i am old enough to remember all the outrage that happened when it came out.

what was the outrage?
Kidman being filmed too erotically and the American audience was not ready for all that sex?

Perfect film from perfect filmmaker. What else can you say

probably that it was advertised as a romantic thriller and audiences in america thought for some reason a romantic thriller by kubrick was going to be light

Why do people still not understand how RT works? The 70% who gave it positive reviews probably heaped praise on it. The 30 who didn't either did not understand it or normally review the latest Superhero movies and make top 10 lists for their blogs.

kubrick cucked tom cruise? nice

i understand how it works im saying compounded critic scores therefore are a bad idea, especially with something as unique as a person reviewing art.

and since nowadays critics are shit. but i dont even have to pay attention to rt i can tell what shit 95% of the time

over the line?

It conveys the feeling of being in way over your head better than any other movie I've seen.

Also was Ziegler the guy in red? He taps the cue ball just like how the guy in red tapped the cane.

she was pooping

i liked it and i have no fucking clue why

not a very good pleb filter if we're going by your definition

I'm fairly certain Ziegler was the one in the balcony that nods to Tom Cruise.

...

then why didnt she wipe her ass nigga

she was peeing

naked nicole kidman is a godsend

...

Kidman's character was a whore at those parties, right?

She clearly wiped her vag m80

fuck

You're right they left us to decide, but you're wrong that it's possible she didn't die, do you not remember the fucking scene in the morgue?

The possibility is that she died of her own drug overdose and wasn't killed by the illuminati, as Ziegler claimed

I see no correlation between these 2 pics.

Girls can wipe their penis from behind.

I want this whole shit world to burn

Why did Tom and Nicole broke up? Was it because of Tom's belif in socialism?

I hate the fucking scene in webm. Drags on so long

So, did the Illuminati kill Kubrick for making this movie?

no..................unless im wrong

I liked it. One of my favorites by Kubrick.

How else could the mask have got into his house?

...

Kike lizards surely killed him!

...

>nominated for 1 Golden Globe
>0 Oscar nominations
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH OSCARS MEANING ANYTHING EVER
'CRITICS'

The illuminati were showing him that they have complete power over him and could get into his house and kill his family any time if he doesn't forget about what he saw

Awful performance by Kidman but the rest was good.
At least she doesn't have too much screen time.

It's about the Jewish "elite"

I thought that was just what Bill would have assumed, they couldn't actually do it without an in, and he still trusted Alice

Are you saying I should vote for Hillary cause I really didn't want to

no
I don't care who you vote for.

i care who is president and i hate both parties though, so fuck me right?

At this point in history it's like caring who stars in the latest blockbuster film.
There's more important things to worry about.
These people that currently occupy our governments have killed off millions of people in the past and they could do it again.

youtube.com/watch?v=D97OxHZzBeQ

Lel

The Illuminati doesn't sound too bad then, they let him go and even give him two warnings. Mexican cartels or Muslims would have killed him immediately

Means you're sane.

>It's about sexuality, infidelity and the ego of men.
and what does it say about these things? and how does it do it better than other films

Kubrick was absolutely based

this
