I use Kodi to browse my media library, I don't use it for anything else. It's handy when you have more than 600 films and it allows you to filter by directors. Don't use Kodi's internal player because it sucks, but I made it so that double clicking a poster opens up Potplayer and the film.

I use the Aeon nox skin, fully configured to my liking. Got an anime, tv shows, movies and music section, all with fanart. It's a lot nicer than browsing files in Windows Explorer

I use vanilla OpenELEC and Kodi on a Raspi 3.

Use it mainly for my media library and youtube.

As of now i use my phone as a remote because i can't be assed to install an IR receiver for my universal remote.

Also, i spent a lot of time to create MovieDB entries for my pregerred obscure 70s porn movies.

The age restriction on the scraper sucks, though.

I have a lot of films in my PC that aren't in TMDB or IMDB, mostly shorts from the past 16 years or pre-WW2 films from my country.

Also, good luck on movies that don't have an IMDB id, the Kodi scraper confuses them with similarly named movies all the time.

I love it for organizing my movies. I just use the vanilla build with standard skin and external player of course.

Do you use the Trakt addon? IT allows you to scrobble your library items to your Trakt account, I did it to mine. They get marked as in your collection (But not watched) so it doesnt even screw with your Trakt stats

LibreELEC with Kodi 16.1 on Odroid. Works pretty well and makes organizing files, and watching movies so much easier. Also youtube addon is pretty nice.

How do I get better addons?
