There are only 2000 (200 updated) hosts in a absolutely controlled and tracked environment. The show is more about Gnosticism than it is a critique of technology. Hopkins is the Demiurge. Evan Rachel Wood is the messianic figure that will save the androids from the Demiurge (with the help of Harris' character).

I thought it was an amazing episode, but all it tells us about the future of the series is that there will be a bunch of pointless mysteries with unsatisfying conclusions.

It's hard to tell. Episode 1 focuses mainly on the androids. We won't see the park from a guest point of view until the next episode.

They're definitely making the robots MUCH more sympathetic though, and they'll probably end up making a statement about human cruelty to artificial lifeforms rather than a cautionary tale about technology.
