Doubtful, since it's a great protocol for en masse file-sharing. The underlying principle will always exist no matter what it's called.

"Torrenting" in particular has only gotten a bad name because of it's recent mainstream use by people to up/download copyrighted content such as movies and music, which are massive monetary industrys in America - a country completely obsessed with money.

It's still no.1 source of films in Eastern Europe. There isn't any reliable streaming service here. I imageine it's also valid for other places like South America or parts of Asia or Africa.
