Loved ToD as a kid, thought it was silly once adult, now as an old fag I am re-recognizing it's simple brilliance. Last Crusade is probably best movie, even if Temple of Doom is Sexiest Indy.
When I was a kid Temple of Doom was my favorite, because let's face it, when you're 10 years old, a guy pulling a still beating heart out of another guys chest is pretty much the coolest thing ever.
I spent an entire summer secretly watching the VHS taped from HBO over and over (because I would get yelled at for 'wearing out the tape') and I even remember learning Anything Goes in Mandarin from it.
Then when I was older I thought it was silly. Now that I am past 30, I recognize its brilliance on a million levels. Indy is sexiest here because he doesn't coddle Willy's bullshit. Also, Willy's casting as perfect. I didn't like her, but I don't think I was meant to. She was obviously a talented performer, but she was a little old to be Hollywood hot, which would explain her fame in Shanghai. She was irritating, but not awful. She was pretty, but not a hottie. Indy would have tossed a shot into her, but he was above her level, and would only have her on his terms.
Also that kid who made his way back into the village to give Indy the piece of cloth, he sounded like he had asthma, like I did. So I really felt for him.
It's still my favourite.
Watching it right now. It's the one where Indy has the most swagger.
Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is the best Indiana Jones film and I'm not even memeing. Indy has always been a series of fantasy films. Do you think a professor at Harvard would also be an adventuring hero? Do you really think Nazis are bad? Pure fantasy. Crystal Skull just takes it to its natural conclusion and tells us Indy happens in a magical world with aliens and evil white people.

I have no issue with that. I thought Raiders was so boring for the longest time. Marianne was my #DrinkingGoals idol, but I always tended to lose interest after a while.

I legitimately like Willy the most out of all the Indy girls. She was the perfect comical complement to Indy. The brunette annoyed me and was a marysue. The nazi girl doesnt really count.

it's pretty basic, but it would have all the same elements: ancient artefact (kind of), multiple interesting locations, a bit of urban and jungle exploration, he could have a run in with the fascists in Barcelona, a bit of supernatural elements. i believe it would be a decent soft reboot. Top looks better. I don't remember Indiana Jones ever looking like the bottom. It always had a warm, almost reddish color tone to it. Which is a great contrast to every other remaster, which has a fucking blue filter added to it for no reason

and no, 3 was not better than 2 - it was mostly a re-imagining of part 1, while part 2 took a risk and created something unique. also them painted backgrounds (pic related), i miss that style.

Raiders. Most consistent tone, most believable, best girl, and least of them all hindered by attempts at comedy.
ToD is all over the place, jumping from slapstick to saccharine to disgusting.
LC is like Raiders but much sillier and with a literal comic relief character.
