In Europe or Italy,
Well I'll that time I'm gonna kick your ass.

I like these threads.

People posting big battleships feels like people answering t-rex to what's your favorite dinosaur.

People posting 'scientifically probably accurate' stuff like avatar or sunshine ships are nerds.

I like Firefly ship because I like the idea of exploring/wandering through the universe in your comfy piece of junk, being free. Kinda like that one hippie van but less liberal since your smugglers and stuff.

>space camo
space jew

i like the spaceships that actually look like aerodynamics and stuff doesn't matter and practicability was the most important aspect of the design

Somebody had to post it...

But the entire thing about (most) spaceships is that aerodynamics is completely out of the equation.

yeah. thats why most of the ships here are cone-shaped and some even got wings

Pretty much any ship from 40k

>nobody ever mentions these

That's because designers like to take inspiration from real life stuff. If someone tells you to draw a spaceship you'll most likely ,at least subconciously, take inspiration from something as a starting off point.

Also some ships especially smaller ships do need to enter atmosphere where aerodynamics matter, even if we have to suspend our disbelief a little for everything to easily go into space.

Considering those are actual miniatures you can buy for $$$, yeah, they went out of their way to make them look fucking sexually attractive

Always loved her, pity they couldn't include the heat radiators

>the front section doesn't seem big enough to contain that centrifuge
Project Rho did the maths on it, apparently it is possible - but using Moon or Mars equivalent gravity, and would require a few days to adjust to the Coriolis force

The aliens were completely, and utterly unbelievable. Fuck's sake, even the size of the disks in the first movie would have essentially set Earth on fire just by moving through the atmosphere.

When the whatever-it-was-called landed and covered a continent, I actually felt dumber for watching it. It was too big, too flashy and too 'look how outclassed we are guys they're such big guys for us'

Some horseshit about how killing the queen automatically makes the ship go away.

Yeah, didn't realise I'd made that mistake (obviously) thanks for (cant say correcting the record) clarifying that inaccuracy...

The Bebop
Serenity

cozy as fuqq

Space isn't empty, there are particles from supernovas, stellar formation leftovers and other shit, if you are traveling at 10% the speed of light the impact with a single atom can release energy, now imagine bigger particles and add to the times you'll find them depending on the speed and distance and the result is that your hull needs to withstand a few nuclear bombs just for interstellar travel.

This and pic related are the only correct answers.

That's what whipple shields are for, not sticking wings on your spaceship.

I really wish Babylon 5 had more of a budget. They could have looked so much better, the whole show in general.

Not my favorite craft but it definitely deserves a mention here:

The FX never really bothered me honestly. I liked all the characters, all the stories and the ships and the plotlines and everything. It's the greatest sci-fi show I've ever seen.

based

Well, then use the extra money to make the show last proper instead of cramming too much in too few seasons.

On this, not to go all tumblr or anything but Cred Forums likes to play up the meme that the production of "The Thing" was a total sausage-fest with no icky women around. This is only partly true, however.

Although it is true that a large part of principal photography was up in BC with absolutely no women around whatsoever (just one pregnant woman came close to delivery and had to depart for that, and from that point on it was Man City), Carpenter's Thing production nevertheless involved several woman who are credited in the film. The ending credits feature multiple (as in, maybe like 6-12 at least) female names, sometimes in supporting creative roles but also in certain clerical functions (like buyers, grips maybe, little stuff like that). Most importantly, the modelmaker who created the saucer which flies past in the opening sequence was a woman.

Aerodynamics ain't gonna help you there.

Is that yours?

>that the production of "The Thing" was a total sausage-fest with no icky women around. This is only partly true, however.

Cred Forums is mostly referring to the characters on screen though, don't care about who made coffee.

based Eclipse class

It is perfectly clear by reading the above post that I understood that, so there was no need for you to have redundantly made this correct observation.

The larger point of the post is that in at least one case, a woman actually did one of the "cool" jobs which directly contributed to what is seen on the screen.
