What do you think of this lads? I thought it was going to be shit since they gave it a female lead when the original movie had a male, but I think they did it for the father/daughter dynamic as opposed to "because it's 2016".
I enjoyed the pilot, seems like a promising series desu.

Because she has to play the younger role in 1996 and the older role in 2016. They figured it's cheaper to hire someone for the 1996 look and age her up.
