I love the atmosphere in Halloween movies but I'm really not into horror movies
Got any tips for a comfy autumn/Halloween movie without the shit jumpscare horror?
Can be thrillers or kids movies or whatever, I'm just looking for that dark comfy feel
the babadook
Just gave this list in the Friday the 13th thread, but some horrorcomfy (can't guarantee it's entirely jumpscare-free)-
Tucker and Dale Vs Evil (2010)
Cabin in the Woods (2012)
Urban Legend (1998)
Scream 2 (1997)
Killer Movie (2008)
Friday the 13th (2009 remake)
Most mid-budget 90's and 00's revival woods-or-campus slashers

Horror movies with Cred Forums all month
It Follows is very comfy and almost jump scare free
Just watched Southbound the other day, was surprisingly good.
Same guys who did the Halloween segment in the first V/H/S movie.
>watching horror movies
enjoy your literal brain damage
Trick r Treat is exactly what you're looking for
Hocus Pocus - great atmosphere, kid friendly but doesn't feel like a kids movie
Trick 'r Treat - comfy horror, feels exactly like Halloween if halloween monsters were real
Satans Little Helper - if you enjoy shitty low budget movies with Cred Forums type comedy
V/H/S segment "10/31/98" - found footage, makes you feel like you're with your bros on Halloween
Calm down Cred Forums
Halloweentown.
>comfy autumn
>no jump scares

I fall asleep every time

How the actual fuck are horror movies full of liberal propaganda? If anything, most horror movies are perfect white families that encounter a spooky ghost and have to form some kind of chanting circle to vanish it.
E.T.
Through comfiness ?
yep
this and x files
Well here's what I've got in Horror-to-watch list:
Stage Fright (2014)
C.H.U.D. 2: Bud the CHUD
Late Phases (2014)
Mystics In Bali (1981)
Encounters of the Spooky Kind (1980)
I'm also kinda thinking about watching all of the late franchise installments of either Nightmare on Elm St. or Hellraiser.
>tucker and dale vs evil
my man, never seen it mentioned on Cred Forums but that film is fucking hilarious, great shout. Also the lead chick is stupid hot
More of a compliment really.
Not him but i watched it drinking with some buddies one night. Completely forgettable film. May have to rewatch it.
its not supposed to change your life dude
its a comedy about two hilbillys being beta and hijinks ensuing
I have never understood what was supposed to be scary in this picture. I feel like that thing would be so top heavy you could easily push it over without it being able to get back up.
Imma shove bannana up ur ass faggot
Truth. Surprisingly solid career, too, checked her Wikipedia for whatever reason and realized almost everything she's been in is good
Got memed into watching Babadook and The Witch.
Babadook was just fucking annoying, that goddamn kid I swear...
The Witch had some nice bleak atmosphere but never did anything with it, instead they kept spouting a bunch of biblical nonsense throughout the movie and made a Hollywood horror asspull at the end.
And neither of them were scary in the slightest.
i hope the babadook kid dies a painful death
