in b4 someone says something stupid like Monkino

It will be Monkino.

The last 2 movies were really good.

I agree. Though I felt Rise was better than Dawn.

Are the original POTA movies worth watching past the first two? I always watch those every year but the follow ups look really cheap and they sound ridiculous in some parts.

You think we'll get the mutants in this one?

def monkino

last two movies were monkino core.

So I should expect an Apes movie with snow? That'll be a fun way to keep things fresh.

I really feel like I've missed out by not watching these movies when they came out.

Last one the last 20 minutes kinda dragged on.

Third one is worth a watch, the last two are shit.

Will the plot be something other than "good ape and good human's attempts at peace are thwarted by bad ape and bad human"?

Cred Forums LOVE MEMES MORE THAN MOVIES

MORE THAN FILMS

Conquest is ok. And has some great Caesar moments like the speech at the end.

Escape and Battle are awful.

something something Black Lives Matter

Villain who LITERALLY AND UNEQUIVOCALLY did nothing wrong

Obama only gets two terms tho

*bashes externally*

Man the actor for Koba was really good..

...

Wouldn't it have made more sense if they named the first film Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, and the second film Rise of the Planet of the Apes?

>Conquest
I have to disagree. Conquest is turn your brain off the movie. It's really hard to see chimps in normal human size within a span of just 20 years after escape

No.

>saying black people are like monkeys means you're from Cred Forums now
you do not belong on Cred Forums

Don't get me wrong, Im not saying its a good movie but from a story point of view its interesting to see how the apes "rise" in the original series and there are a few good moments.

None of the sequels live up to the original though.

Anyone that looks like that does plenty wrong with glee. That's the rules.

please go back to lelddit if a standard shitty racist joke like that triggers you

I had a bad day today. You made me laugh. Cool, thanks.

What's interesting is it created the Ape takeover ahead of time instead of rising from the ashes of man. Jim Cameron wanted to do a remake of Planet of the Apes which follows the alternate timeline created by the third movie. A remake and a sequel at the same time.

Man they've really done a good job with this franchise so far. I just hope it doesn't suffer from the third movie curse.

>None of the sequels live up to the original though.
This we can easily agree on.

Anyway, while I do agree that seeing the apes rise did seem interesting, the problem is the movie really depends on suspension of disbelief. Which is hard to do here.

Kys

Well apparently two of the writers are gone to work on Avatar so..

This is incredibly racist.

> kys
> oh no muh racialismmmm omgeeee

Fuck off

finally, this franchise will produce Primate Prime Kino

I fucking hate my life.

JUST

He was weak which in ape culture it taboo for a leader

underrated

Reminder that the time travel in the Burton movie is flawed because of the presence of horses on Planet Monkinium

True, still a good movie though

nice one, user. You did good, you did good.

>straw is almost as tall as the glass
what's the fucking point then

I liked the first one but James Franco kept me from loving it, however, I absolutely LOVED Dawn, a fucking great Sci-fi movie and a near masterpiece. I like the fact that these aren't played as action movies with stupid jokes every five minutes. They're first and foremost DRAMAS with a somber tone. I like that. I hope that they stick with that for War and aren't afraid to go downbeat!!!FACT!!!

meh, when the first one was out I was in a psychiatric hospital, the dude bought in the DVD-R and I fell the fuck asleep

...

Yes, it would have.

APES
DO
NOT
WANT

>Planet of the Apes is by far the best movie franchise going right now

What a weird world to live in.

do we all agree that the orangutang is the most based character?

They're good movies, but the titles are fucking complicated. I dunno if Dawn or Rise comes first without having to look it up.

I've been like a depressed robot all day at my wageslave work...female co-workers failed to get me to smile but this shit made me grin like a mother fucker.

I'm going to miss when our Jap overlord scraps Cred Forums and sells our information.

Of course.

>one of the three writers of Dawn is back on War
>this is his filmography
>en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Bomback

Oh, god.

Really stoked about this. The last to were legit great movies. It's a great world they've built.

I guess this is an actively successful franchise now?

most of those movies had decent writing

this CGI sucks, looks like a video game cut scene

>That moment in Dawn where Koba flies through the fire wall on horseback dual wielding assault rifles

Absolute KINO

>Gary Oldman not in it
JUST

one of the most overrated things on this board are these new ones. get some taste

...

I am still disgusted ant the producers for not using African actors to portray evolved primates who are originally from Africa and therefore have closer ties to African Americans than white actors from England and Australia, I feel that this is just another glaring example of cultural appropriation, I am disgusted

he died in the last movie, why would he be in it

i still dont believe its cgi.

>Watching Dawn in theaters
>It's the part where Koba acts stupid and spits out the drink in front of those 2 guys guarding the weapons
>The whole audience is laughing
>Suddenly Koba grabs their gun and shoots both of them
>Whole theater goes dead silent

I've been waiting for this moment!

youtube.com/watch?v=eau3RoxGN8E

Really wish the trailer hadn't spoiled that part for me.

Though if I hadn't seen it, I may not have gone to see the movie in the first place. I remember that moment made quite an impact on me.

I'm not a blockbuster guy, in fact I truly hate most of them, but I unironically loved both Rise and Dawn and think they're as good as it gets in blockbuster department where you gotta make movies really fast and also please the jew and his agenda. The monkeys look fucking groovy, the stories and plots were neat and there was some stellar cinematography and action sequences. Totally fun popcorn movies, smart enough that they don't insult your intelligence. I'm looking forward to the 3rd installment.

>post-apocalypse
>snow
>chimps
Maximum comfy lads.

How the hell are chimps comfy? They're the scarriest animals alive.

Is this the best example of an entire remake of a series done right?

>They're the scarriest animals alive.

>First ape to kill another Ape
>Nothing wrong

>Complaining that this looks like a video game cutscene
I tell you something sonny jim.
There was a time, not long ago, where we could easier believe that Jesus walked amongst us again and had converted to Buddhism, than that we'd one day have vidya games with such well developed 3D graphicals!
We used good old fashioned imagination and emotional investment to make the fantastical and odd seem real.

And we was better for it.

I actually stopped watching movies in 2011. I only come here for the memes.

>is easily triggered by any kind of racism
>thinks they belong on Cred Forums
It's not like we're judging you m8 just giving you some friendly advice, Cred Forums isn't for everyone.

Sums up my thoughts.

>the orangutan stands up

It's probably ash you fuckface. Ash, from the WAR

>war for the planet of the apes
>for
>implies humans are apes too

POTTERY

Anyone else feel that these films are dumbed down?

The drama is saturday morning cartoon stuff.

yes, a morally grey conflict where every character has a motivation for their actions and where no one, not even the "evil ape", is portrayed as completely evil for no reason is "saturday morning cartoon stuff"

What saturday morning cartoons are you watching that are as good as this?

That's actually really clever, user. I'll use that in the future.

...

His name is HORACE, you dense FUCK.

Everything is kino.
Nothing is kino.

Haha good one bro

You're a whiny piece of shit, Gus.

w/o a doubt

What's the point of these movies? We already know the humans lose. Did it really need to be a trilogy?
