Rewatching Dredd drunk. I feel like it's the best film ever made. Why is it so fucking awesome, people of Cred Forums?

Rewatching Dredd drunk. I feel like it's the best film ever made. Why is it so fucking awesome, people of Cred Forums?

watch more movies

hell, watch more flicks.

Because it stays loyal to the source material and doesn't aim for a PG certificate.

If you get past the fandom and predictable plot. Its a good movie.

Tip:

I'm not serious. I know it's no Mulholland Drive, but it's just very solid and I fucking like it a lot.

No it's not. You fell for a meme.

Name a movie with a more rad score. You can't. Lord of the rings isn't rad, its magical

Hobo with a shotgun.

Amazing visuals, most badass protagonist ever, likable sidekick, god-tier villain, solid action scenes, simple but engaging narrative, memorable dialogue, incredibly satisfying ending

it didn't have rob schneider in it.

Because it's a solid film.
And because you're drunk.

The 3D bits lose their luster off the big screen, which is what they marketed this movie for, but that aside, it's a fantastic movie, and one of the only DVDs I've bought in the past 10 years.

>best film ever made
>not a picture of Aliens
Pick one

I want to be mamas forced tech guy/sex slave

Aliens a shit

>some ugly cunt is why

Would need to watch again to give adequate rebuttal, but noted.

You fucking pleb.

This is the correct answer.

Also South America is like a Mega-City.

>you said you could get me (You)s, user, where are they?

Because its just the raid with a higher budget?

>pick one

not a picture of Aliens obviously.

top qt
>her pornstar lookalike
many faps were had

its like 3x better than the raid

>this shit again
They're both Die Hard retools you retard, stop acting like The Raid is original

the raid was better

reminder Dredd's script was floating around in hollywood long before The Raid was written

The point though, is the raid was a love letter to die hard and dredd only happened because of the popularity of the raid.

see casual plebian

>Dredd began principal photography, using 3D cameras throughout, in November 2010
>Filming [for The Raid] began in March 2011.

There's a script for literally everything floating around in hollywood at any given time. The only reason a movie gets made anymore is because someone thinks its a sure money-maker.

Dredd went into production before The Raid, it just took longer to make because of the visual effects which were painstakingly done

Spotted the pleb

So what you're saying is it was in production limbo until the raid hit big.

>Because it stays loyal to the source

Waiting for the goldfish judge too brother

>doesn't know what principal photography is
the movie was greenlit and already being filmed

Hollywood wanted to maintain the time honored tradition of an amazing movie doing shitty in theatres due to a complete failure by marketing.

it looks good. its a kind of fascist-as-last-resort in the face of apocalypse but eh wht can i say i must have watched 5 or 6 times probably in good part because of the photography.

>amazing movie
It would've done better had it just dropped the entire dredd franchise from it's billet and played as a straight action movie in tenement housing.

But comic books are "DA THANG" now so everyones trying to force that shit.

what was your favorite bit of photography? Generic interior, generic interior, or generic interior?

It didn't necessarily need to drop the connection to 2000 AD, it needed a different title

People heard "Dredd" and thought "is this a remake of that shitty Stallone movie? Why would I want to see that?" And that's just the people who actually heard about it because of the shitty marketing.

I didn't even know the movie existed until it was out on video

that's set design moron

Don't tell me you're praising the movie for the 3 minutes of it's entire runtime that isn't a generic hallway.

So what you're saying is the marketing wasn't so much shit as the product was irrevocably tainted in the first place?

lookalike?

go on...

I applaud the movie for making better use of slow-motion than any other film I've seen, those shots are gorgeous

What do you expect from the set design? It's a ghetto not a fucking palace

little of column A, little of column B

>impressed by slow motion

... are you fucking 16?

>are you fucking 16?
I would, but it's not legal in my state.

I think if they had done it like that, they would have just made the same movie basically, been accused of a ripoff, and let down a bunch of Judge Dredd fans all at the same time. The troubles with this movie largely just come down to marketing or a lack thereof. Otherwise, it's a really well made movie and it has a certain charm/authenticity to it that's uncommon from most comic book inspired movies.

Lily Labeau my nigga

I'm impressed by slow-motion when it's beautifully done, when it's obvious a lot of love and effort went into making it. Not to mention it's actually integrated into the story which is immensely refreshing

I typically detest slow-motion, but Dredd uses it brilliantly

I know her from Halloween XXX, which I need to fap to now that it's October

Please stop posting.
