Serpico's pretty classic. Also, who could forget about S1M0NE
Luke Gray
What about Serpico and Dog Day Afternoon? Or Devil's Advocate?
Jonathan Bennett
He didn't go to Gloucester Community College.
Jeremiah Kelly
You're forgetting Heat
Isaac Miller
literally only because he was in the Godfather and has some memorable lines
he's pretty mediocre as an actor
Isaiah Adams
in terms of acting, he gets BTFO by De Niro in that
Jordan Miller
The real question is which of them has been in the fewest shitty movies?
Liam Ward
>Heat >Good
Adrian Lopez
Dunkacino Dunkacino
Asher Morris
ATTICA! ATTICA! REMEMBER ATTICA!?
Joshua Powell
not really
David Young
>Heat >not good
Easton Powell
Are you a retard?
Heat, Carlito's Way, Dog Day Afternoon, The Panic in Needle Park, Glengarry Glen Ross, and The Insider are all great.
Scarface on the other hand is pretty shit
Charles Thomas
Fuck you for not including Dog Day Afternoon or Serpico, Donnie Brasco, Panic in Needle Park & Glengarry Glen Ross.
It's like you're intentionally talking shit, user.
Dylan Carter
I will chop your fucking head off
Easton Robinson
He's right tho, Heat is pleb shit.
Wyatt Brown
I hated that movie.
Brody Morgan
disagree about Scarface being shit.
but yeah if you add all those, and Heat, and the ones OP mentioned, that's a pretty strong career
dumb premise for a thread.
Hudson Anderson
But the acting was good
Isaiah Morgan
anything Michael Mann is patrician of patrician
Mann just uses really mainstream forms so the ordinary people don't get that he's actually making art films
Leo Rogers
Found the redditor.
Blake Scott
I can't understand that.
Ian Peterson
he lost his fucking mind at some point and just started shouting instead of acting.
he's frankly embarrassing in Heat, a film in which even Val Kilmer delivers a more believable performance than him. The last good flick he was in was Devils Advocate just because it was fine for him to spend the whole film being ridiculous.
Jeremiah Foster
>Didn't even name Pacino's best role.
Blake Powell
Bravo Nolan
Jordan Brooks
Its pretty clear most posting in this topic arent fully aware of Pacinos body of work.
His best work, aside from The Godfather I & II, is definitively the stage-influenced films such as Glengarry Glen Ross, Chinese Coffee etc.
Scarface is far from his best work and neither is Heat. Just because you like a film it doesnt mean Pacino's performances are noteworthy.
Luke Parker
>he only really has The Godfather and Scarface
i hate this fucking board
Jonathan James
It's really amazing how the meaning of the word 'pleb' even reaches new heights here, like showcased by OP where he doesn't even name his other extremely popular films he did (Like Carlito's Way).
It's like the plebbiest of the plebs having 'film discussion'
Angel Morgan
>yet he only really has The Godfather and Scarface.
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHHHAHA
>Serpico >Dog Day Afternoon >...and Justice for All >Scent of a Woman >Heat
You can suck my shiny little dick now you faggot
Grayson Lopez
Al Pacino has had a great career. He's one of the best actors of all time. You're extremely mistaken, OP.
Nathan Myers
Being a great actor doesn't necessarily mean every project you do is great. But you're so full of shit.
How can you not know Serpico, Carlito's Way, Dog day afternoon, Heat, Scent of a woman, Glengarry Glen Ross, the Insider..? Shit, he was phenomenal in Dick fucking Tracy, a 90s goddamn comic book movie.
Oliver Peterson
>Only has 3 films in IMDB's top 250 >Good career
Fuck off
Henry Flores
Oh fuck off.
Noah Powell
Scent of a woman is goat
Camden Lee
Easiest (you)s you'll ever make.
Kayden Cox
Did you watch Heat? he's a god damn cartoon in that.
Brody Bailey
you say that like that's a bad thing
Mann's movies are fantasies. they're hyperreal.
and Pacino was very affecting in that. it's not like he was doing that over the top shouting the whole time. that was like one scene.
Blake Taylor
>Chris O'donnell plays the lead, his career briefly skyrockets only to crash and burn, now stuck on a NCIS spin off with nobody really giving much thought to him >Phillip Seymour Hoffman only has a minuscule part, slowly builds a career over the years with other small parts, ultimately becomes thought of as an actor's actor, revered even after his overdose death
Really makes you think.
Austin Stewart
Sorry, but what's your point?
Brody Peterson
Cruising Dog Day Afternoon Serpico The Godfather I and II Donny Brasco Scarface Scent of a woman Devils advocate
You what, mate?
Sebastian Morris
The Panic in Needle Park The Godfather Serpico The Godfather Part II Dog Day Afternoon Scarface Glengarry Glen Ross Scent of a Woman Heat Donnie Brasco Carlito's Way Insomnia Make of that list as you will and I guess I do see where you're coming from in terms of 'greatness' but a young Pacino was a fantastic actor and was much more subtle with a nuanced screen presence than what he would later become
Nolan Allen
Agreed. He was still great in his later years, but I love his early movies more
Aiden Roberts
I like understated, nuanced young Pacino, and I also like older Meme Pacino
Grayson Cox
scarface, godfather, heat serpico, dog day afternoon
He worked pretty sporadically during the 70s and 80s and that's when the directors still had creative freedom
