Does Vietnam even have a film industry? And people for some reason get upset still at any mentions of the Viet Cong (see the band Viet Cong getting harassed about their name into changing it) so unless Vietnam itself has no problem with making a movie about the Viet Cong and can actually do it I don't think it would ever be made.
I think there are some movies from the perspective of the Nazis though so it could happen but it would have to be an indie movie.
Vietnam War films focus more on the state of characters, moral ambiguity etc., not on who won or lost the fucking war. It's the least improtant part of the film.

They didn't. Or at least, not the war people think about. They signed a peace treaty ending the conflict status quo ante and America went home. Two years later, they broke the treaty and invaded the hapless South. Since America was burned out on Vietnam and had been rocked by Watergate in the meantime, they took no action in averting the NVA blitz and the South fell in weeks.

The 60s and 70s portion of the cold war was the US trying to fight an ideological war with literal bullets. The US, in vietnam, was doing nothing but shooting poor people who didn't want to be oppressed by the rich, and legitimately thought the USSR was an actual communist entity, rather than simply a glorified despotism.
The entire concept of the vietnam war was completely flawed and, thus, was doomed to failure.

The NVA had precious little to do with winning the actual fighting of the war. All engagements with American/South Vietnamese forces resulted in massive casualties and minimal territorial gain.

The US fought hard but really their was nothing they could do (besides wiping out the entire country) and due to public demand at the US mainland, the US government had to pull out their troops.
If any US student had paid attention in history class you would know the basics of the US involvement in the Vietnam War. Personally I love reading about it and enjoy films about it.

The Paris Peace Accords were signed on January 27, 1973, you dummy. The "US Forces" that fled during the ARVN invasion of the south were Embassy personnel and their security people.
