I remember back in 2007 there was this huge drug raid in my school. The cops showed up with dogs to sniff every locker. My ex-gf was in a bathroom stall and overheard this girl frantically calling her dealer to pick her up from school and pose as her uncle so that she could bail with the weed. Meanwhile, some dumbass decided to dump his stash down one of the heating ducts which would cause trouble later on.

This. As a military brat who moved around every four years it depends on where you go to school. Some schools have teachers watch the hallways during transitions so something like this could never happen, others have zero tolerance policies, but I can see others being wild like in the movies.

Most of the football players were drug addicts though, but I lived in a rural area where pain pill addiction was really skyrocketing at the time.

One of my college buddies told me that in his podunk town from Ohio, all you had to do was act all innocent and tell the teacher that they were just having a discussion. He said there was a literal psychopath who had instant charm with the adults, but would terrorize the shit out of anyone that got in his way. And he made sure that he was never caught. He was lucky that this was around the early 00's when smartphones lacked the good cam tech to capture his shit. There was even a rumor that he was the one who shot and killed a classmate's dog with a metal BB. Couldn't prove it however.

All of the awful stuff happens in middle school where the kids try to act out how they imagine high school kids to be. High school ended up being way more relaxed and friendlier.

Ausfag here. I remember wondering as a kid what i would put in my 'locker' when i went to highschool. Sure enough, when i went, my HS had lockers, but the only thing keeping in them was ants, spiders and geckos. I think they were only ever used temporarily by some people, but for what, i have no idea.

My best buddy and former roommate from college was admittedly an asshole to a lot of people in HS, but he was cool as fuck to everyone in undergrad. Cliques were more ingrained in my highschool because of scheduling. The jocks, the band geeks etc all stayed with each other throughout the day.

I have autism and other issues from a total alcoholic 40 year old giving birth and I was pushed around, the target of flying objects, insults, etc every week. Both the same. The jocks and cheerleaders were actually the smarter ones by and large. No real bullies. Occasional fights. Typically if you were friendly with others, you'd be accepted.

High school in TV and movies are usually written by geeks who pretend the others were the problem when in reality, they were the ones who were stuck up assholes.

And always thought being a patient nerd would turn out well - it did. STEM degree job with fuckhuge paychecks, gym membership to undo eating shit for 4 years of HS and the few of college. Nerds and stoners (or musical faggots) were also friends and intertwined members, so "party life" portrayed in film is somewhat accurate, again dependent on location. Don't nail broads daily but it feels good being picky about my women and turning some down, completely opposite of HS life. Post-HS jocks and chadbros do probably nail sluts on the daily now with tinder, but I've learned not to give a shit and sit in contempt since they don't have a college education, or a fuckton of student loans to pay off.

Nah I was a fucking mess at the end of the day and it was a small school so everyone sort of knew each other and cared. Also helps we had a girl kill herself at school the year before if we are being honest.

Went to a catholic school. We had sort of hybrid cliques so everyone could kinda get along. There were the jock-stoners, jock-prep, jock-nerd, nerd-stoner. It was more of a gradient.

But I mean hey I was up for winter-royalty so that was cool. I was also one of the only that had could have parties. And throwing parties and bring the fat and funny on the football team guy didn't get me laid a lot by any means, but it got me 3 solid GFs I had good times with.
