>About 200 people walked out of an Amy Schumer show in Tampa, Fla., on Sunday after she criticized Donald J. Trump onstage, The Tampa Bay Times reported.
>The comic, who is in the middle of a global arena tour, is an outspoken supporter of Hillary Clinton. During her set at Amalie Arena, she invited a Trump supporter up to the stage to defend the candidate. “Do you get worried at all with how impulsive he is, that he gets so fired up from ‘Saturday Night Live’ doing a skit on him?” she asked. She also called Mr. Trump an “orange, sexual-assaulting, fake-college-starting monster.”
>Video of the performance shows audience members booing and walking out. Ms. Schumer encouraged security to throw out the hecklers. “It’s too important,” she said as members of the crowd grew restless. “So we’re going to spend five minutes talking about it.”
>In a statement to Vanity Fair, Ms. Schumer wrote: “I want to thank the 8,400 people who stayed. We have always depended on comedians to make us laugh and tell the truth. I am proud to continue that tradition.”
>In her set, Ms. Schumer talked about gun violence and attending Mrs. Clinton’s birthday party, two subjects she has covered in previous shows. She is to perform at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday. nytimes.com/2016/10/18/arts/amy-schumer-donald-trump-tampa.html
>maybe 10 people booing >overwhelming majority of crowd cheering throughout um
Lucas Garcia
Who is this?
Jose Jenkins
>Is her 15 minutes up?
Implying she ever had them.
Luke Roberts
HE CAN'T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH IT!
John Long
Maybe they left because they expected there to be funny, but there was no funny to be found.
Landon Martin
Why are women allowed?
Austin Powell
This to be honest fampai
Pretty funny to see righties complain about how thin skinned and politically correct liberals are, only to go pull shit like this.
BTW Schumer was already dead in the water after she and Lena insulted that black guy
Camden Peterson
Why doesn't she just make actual trump jokes instead of getting preachy/aggressive about it?
No one wants to see that shit.
William Roberts
"I want to thank the 8,400 people who were complacent as i publicly derogated someone for their views at a show they payed to come to xxDDDD"
Ian Williams
maybe there could be trigger warnings so they wouldn't get offended by political correct humor.
Jordan Johnson
>200 out of 10,000
wow, its nothing
Luke Ward
ok well if it was about hilary supporters you would've thought it was hilarious. t. unbiased yuropoor
Colton Wilson
>gun violence Would have left there.
Isaiah Miller
>unbiased No such thing.
Ian Williams
Is her 15 minutes up? Man they were up when she got called out as a joke thief
The result of that is just now coming to fruition. It's like the 5 finger death punch, get hit with it and you'll be fine Until maybe 3 days later when you collapse in a lifeless heap
Connor Scott
>wants to put Americans first >cut down on the millions of refugees entering country >wants to join with Russia and defeat ISIS instead of arming native arab rebels and hoping that they defeat ISIS as Hillary wants to do I dont get why people hate Trump
Hunter Howard
These "comedians" should get over themselves. Tell a joke, or get a fuck out of the stage. I dont understand how's she so famous. I would love to see actually funny comedians roast her.
Anthony Anderson
I watched the video, her endorsement of Clinton isn't offensive Her claim that 1 in 6 of the audience will be sexually abused is kinda offensive, unless someone can show me an actual link from a reputable scientific source Also her lack of jokes so she could spend 5 minutes preaching seems like it was missing the point. She's not a political commentator, she's barely a comedian, her shows aren't rallies
If I had paid to see that, I'd be fucking pissed but then again >paying to see amy schumer
Jack Brooks
>10,000 at an Amy Schumer gig Thats a big stadium
Ethan Sanchez
Maybe even a little biased for Trump because the media is being so fucking manipulative and I don't like that at all. But you have to admit that if it were against Hilary supporters you all would have laughed and this thread would be about praising the comedian.
Chase Ward
>21,500 capacity A big empty stadium
Logan Hernandez
>there are people in this world who both support Trump and Amy Schumer
I never thought these two would overlap
Joshua Ward
>making fun of political figures is a new thing in comedy
Jaxon Johnson
>Amy Schumer gets an entire stadium to make "jokes" mean while European underground bands perform in a club with a maximum of 30 people Wew
Ryan Phillips
Agreed. Norm MacDonald is absolutely right when he talks about comedians having no business pretending to be political experts. It's fine to bash and tell jokes about one side or the other, but blatantly supporting is just stupid. You're no expert - unless you're one of the two or three out there who actually are.
Jace Moore
guys i just thought what if porn stars did a stadium tour where they get fucked on stage and people come to watch?
Hudson Long
>media being manipulative
No, they aren't. He's an idiot. He's always been an idiot. Clinton, Sanders, Stein, Johnson, they have no bearing on the fact that Trump and his supporters are fucking legit retarded people.
Jaxson Cook
Any smart person will realize Pence will be running the whole show. Trump will literally be the fall guy. He's the hero we need against the corrupt political system we have at the moment. Especially the crooked democrats
Levi Mitchell
>they aren't Then how come NONE of the shady shit that has been leaked about Hilary has been swept under the rug by the media and noone is talking about it but if Trump even makes ONE tweet every media outlet jumps right on it?
James Richardson
>millions of refugees entering country But that's not even close to remotely correct.
Sebastian Gutierrez
Really? She was calling Mexicans rapists before he was.
Oliver Hill
>We have always depended on comedians to make us laugh and tell the truth. I am proud to continue that tradition.” You don't do any of that Amy. Why did these people even show up at her show? What did they expect she's not funny and is well known to be left wing. It's like when SJWs go to a real comedy show and get offened by jokes. They must've gone there to heckle
Lucas Phillips
>No, they aren't Oh no, the medias are never manipulative. Like that one time when Trump said war vets needed more mental support and they twisted it as him saying that vets were weak? Or that they outright tell people it's illegal to even look at wikileaks when it's a blatant lie? Or all the race baiting yellow journalism about black criminals being killed by "white" police officers? That's never manipulative, not now, not never.
Jacob Morris
...
Asher Cook
If they stayed and allowed to her to shit on them for wanting to vote a certain way you'd call them cucks. They came to laugh, not be lectured.
>being triggered by Amy Schumer I think your 15 minutes are up.
Cooper Bailey
What kind of moron Trump supporter would go to an Amy Schumer show? It's like a DEA agent going to a Bill Hicks show.
Parker Stewart
>bands perform in a club with a maximum of 30 people Is that after the Islamic shooting spree happens?
Hudson Perry
Nah I would prefer female actresses to show their feet and legs for an hour on stage.
I would pay to see that
Adrian Bennett
Only smart comedians with decent self awareness can pull off political humor, and part of the trick is taking shots at both parties. Amy however is an unfunny cunt who can't be "funny" unless shes shocking or talking about her vagina. Also the Ryan Dunn joke was in poor taste
Xavier Jenkins
Assuming that's true, he's still an idiot.
None of Clinton's new shady shit is said or done by Clinton. Every "Big Groundbreaking Story" is some staffer said something or Podesta giving his opinion. Nothing from Clinton herself. Hell, just as I was fixing dinner, Fox had a big breaking news sticker on there about some staffer wishing the SB shooter was named Chris. Shitty? Yes. But it has nothing to do with Clinton.
When they report on Trump, it's because he, from his own mouth or fingers, said something stupid. That's the difference. It's not like the media reports everything one of his staffers or supporters does, it's just what he does.
Hunter Harris
Wasn't this already posted then moved to Cred Forums where it belongs?
Jackson Sanders
poor trump and his followers. they're all so persecuted. if only the world would recognize their inherent superiority in all respects, bow and let them fulfill their manchild wet dreams of tantrum based sporadic genocides and general socoipathic behavior. its not fair! stop not letting us be the romanticized new age nazis we fantasize about and rule the world like we were supposed ta!!
Easton Wright
No I mean European bands that travel to say US to perform and hardly no one knows they exist so they can only perform in the smallest venue.
Well thats how I saw Sybreed live.
Benjamin Davis
this sounds like the kind of post that would firebomb a GOP office.
Chase Anderson
>show up to a comedy show >turns out to be a political rally
Brandon King
It's only up when her (((bosses))) decide it is up.
If she tells some more crappy PC jokes about Trump, White Men, Republicans, etc., she will be forgiven for being so so at best.
Mason Walker
From a Canadian, even our media is less biased against Trump and we're a left wing country. Watching CNN is ridiculous. I don't get MSNBC and Fox so I can't comment on those.
Easton Jenkins
desu i think its pretty open minded of them to go see a shumer shitshow in the first place. i sure as fuck wouldnt go to one
Michael Harris
You ever notice how only rightwing blogs report that?
Jose Gray
This desu. Political satire is fine, but I don't see how she was even attempting to be funny.
Josiah White
...
Anthony Barnes
>I'm gonna buy tickets to that Hilary supporters show just so I can boo her and walk out even though I already gave money to support her! That will show her!
Are these people legit stupid?
Juan Hughes
>show up to a political rally >turns out to be a comedy show
Caleb Hill
we should round them all up so they aren't a threat, see this justifies what we've been saying all along, they're out to get us so its okay if we kill em all
John Stewart
Maybe they got over themselves, and thought that women could be funny.
Ayden Diaz
>Don't like what someone has to say >Stop listening to them This is the correct response.
>Don't like what someone has to say >Attempt to censor them with hate speech laws, disinvitation, etc >Shout them down as homophobic, sexist, racist, bigoted, etc >Attempt to ruin their professional lives, even if the offense was years ago This is the incorrect response.
I don't blame them for leaving when they showed up for a standup show and instead got yet another hollywood liberal preaching her politics. If I went to a movie theater for an action flick and instead got a nature documentary, I'd walk out too. Not because I don't want nature documentaries to exist, but it's not what I came for.
Grayson Campbell
IT's a good thing CNN is one of the lowest of the many, many, many news channels and outlets.
You might as well say it's biased for Trump because of Fox's shit.
Josiah Ross
kys
Sebastian Nelson
>Liberal blogs don't claim liberal blogs have any bias!
Hudson Brown
One thing is to criticize someone close-minded and borderline insane like Trump and a completely different one is to actively support a liar and corporation puppet like Hillary. And the fact that she did it in a show that's supposed to be comedic makes it even worse. Wish everybody walked out of that show, fucking retarded piece of cunt
Thomas Rogers
>Is her 15 minutes up? yup
Christian Nelson
>our media is less biased against Trump Do you even watch TV at all? I don't watch it that much, but everytime I turn it on on something that's not sports or an episode of a TV that aired more than 20 years ago, I always hear about how Trump is a big meanie.
Jeremiah Martin
>after she and Lena insulted that black guy care to update me in this?
Matthew Parker
this
the trump supporters who showed up there were dumb, they just wasted their money
Dominic Carter
I wish more people did something like this.
In my college there was a girl who talked about sexism and all that degenerate stuff I stepped up and walked out the class without saying a word
Now I've been given a warning
Matthew Allen
They could have been stooges for an audience that size.
If you have 200 people willing to walk out, why didn't they heckle her too? If you are leaving anyway, why not yell a cheap shot "Fuck You Miss Piggy! Hey, Kermit wants his alimony checks back. His lawyer says you aren't allowed to collect it after you ate all the children."
Stuff like that is what a lot of comedians fear and why a lot of venues have a no fighting back against the comedian, rule.
Ethan Gomez
Heckling a professional comedian is not always the wisest move. It sometimes just gives them more of a platform.
There's little quite as disenheartening as watching people just decide "screw it, this isn't worth my time." Saying nothing and just walking off can often be a more effective message than whatever insult you could throw. Comedians know insults. She could've used any insult thrown at her as a platform from which to bawww about how trump supporters are meanies who can dish it out but can't take it.
If they simply leave peacefully, she's the one who looks like a cunt for insisting they have to listen to her.
Kevin Collins
desu I don't even like Trump that much but if I was an attendee expecting some Schumer """"""""""comedy""""""" but got her tirade instead I would have walked out too.
Nicholas Perez
>In my college there was a girl who talked about sexism and all that degenerate stuff >I stepped up and walked out the class without saying a word desu shit like this wouldn't be accepted at my uni because too many Arabs
If it was about Israel or something it would be a different story
Elijah Davis
I'm not even a trump fan, but I'd walk out on a comedy show that was talking abut politics in a non-satirical manner.
Henry Lee
>watch David Cross's new special >70% of it is about republicans and Trump in America I'm not even American or republican but fucking hell it's just not that funny. Rest of it was pretty good though.
Camden Lopez
What sort of things instantly make you walk out on a comedian?
Cameron Bell
>>In a statement to Vanity Fair, Ms. Schumer wrote: “I want to thank the 8,400 people who stayed. We have always depended on comedians to make us laugh and tell the truth. I am proud to continue that tradition.”
Why is her first statement to Vanity Fair?
Carter Sullivan
Advocating for gun control.
Angel Carter
If you are not well versed at banter it is a bad call to go toe to toe with even a local circuit comedian.
If you feel like being really mean to a black comic, suggest that he doesn't have to make anyone laugh this evening. You will just get a copy of his performance and do the Strange Fruit Remix (Hanging Reference) with him and his white girls as the stars. If he and the audience doesn't know the old song, you can sing "Strange fruit. Hanging from the poplar trees..."
That can really fuck up his night.
Anthony James
>We have always depended on comedians to make us laugh and tell the truth Wait, woah, wait, when the fuck did "tell the truth" become part of a comedian's job?
I depend on comedians to make me laugh. I want to be told the truth, I'll watch a fucking documentary.
I'm not saying the two can't go together, but they certainly aren't defined that way.
Your job is to say funny things, not tell "the truth" (which in this case appears to mean nothing more than "my opinion").
This. How come no one pointed that out yet? Publicly, I mean
Nicholas Stewart
I used to love David Cross, and still enjoy his older stuff, but that special was unwatchable.
Blake Turner
Because all this shit is just more advertising for her career.
Mason Allen
>If this hypothetical situation that has never and will never happen happened you would react in a way that I made up to fit my point that this situation is okay because making fun of trump voters is not a big deal
>t. an Amy Schumer/Hillary fan
kystbhfam
Matthew Campbell
there are none and people actually pay to watch her do "stand up"
Adam Lopez
I literally flipped one tiny part of the situation and you make it out like I changed every fucking aspect of the original situation.
Why are you so in denial?
Jacob Lopez
No because comedians aren't expected to be partisan. Especially mainstream comedians who are looking for money from both sides
Jacob Turner
I wouldn't, honestly.
I already know she's a corrupt warmonger shill. I don't need Amy fucking Schumer of all people to tell me that.
Your job, if you are a comedian, is to make people laugh. If you fail to do that, don't be surprised if people decide to go elsewhere.
